The Pagani Huayra was actually higher than I expected! For my dream car, I honestly love it, and for durability, it’s quite good. I thought it would’ve been wrecked because of *all of that Carbon Fibre!* oh ye and that Pagani crash made me sad 😂

“Luxury” planes are just dressed up versions of existing planes. All those planes have had all major components taken apart and tested. Like a wing would be put on a jig and deflected until it fails. The wing root would be put on a different jig and tested how much stress it would take to rip off a wing from the fuselage. The fuselage is put on a tank of liquid and overpressured to see if it pops. The fuselage would be put on different jigs to see how much torsional stress it can take. All of those components are tested for compressive, torsional, sheer, bending, etc (each test only testing for one type of stress at a time) to the point of failure.

The thing is, every day cars have to be made out of plastic. If you think about it, the plastic you pay for actually saves your life. The impact from a crash causes the energy to go into all the crushed up plastic instead of to the driver. You can find videos of it where it compares full metal car frames from the 70s vs modern day.

These car are only made for tasting so before they can sell their car Thay have to pass a safety test if they will fail they cannot launch the new model in market so money is not wasted by company.

@@mea1544 In short, no. Small automobile manufacturers with couple million dollar cars do not have the ability to demolish a car for crash tests. They do testing on certain parts or through computer modeling.

In the US mustangs are cheap because they are domestic, in Germany for instance mustangs are twice as expensive as in the US because they are imports as they aren't build in the EU. A Porsche 911 on the other hand is twice as expensive in the US than in Germany for the same reason
The mustang comes in many different configurations where the most expensive is the Shelby gt500 comes at a price of 107k. The tests determine the strength of the car's frame.

Many people seems to not know that crash test does not include most of the expensive components like engine. It is just the shell of the car and some of the basic tools. They use counter weights and the vehicles are pulled not drove.
It is sad to see these cars go, but I am glad these tests are performed. I'm also glad for the engineering and safety improvement that has come from these tests. Who knows how many lives have been save by this point because of these tests. I love old cars, but many people still don't understand why we need modern vehicles to "crumple like tin cans". Crumple zones save lives. I would much rather be the egg strapped into the center of a can than one sitting in a brick.
