@Space Monkey It's interesting that those opening words "Ask your wives" gets different interpretations depending on where you look: "Ask..."/"Say to..."/"Tell...". With "Ask" it seems just like useful advice but "Say to" and "Tell" it sounds more like a command.

Yes, I like the woman.
Julia is a great thinker and a great communicator. I wish she would enter politics rather than the rabble we have now.
I can't say I blame her. We need Mp's who are truly independent and not bound by the party machine and genuinely represent the people in their constituencies. It will never happen though, but nice to dream.

'Right wing' is simply the truth without political correct embellishments. 'Right wing speaks for a quiet majority, left wing shouts for a noisy minority. 'Right wing' is a clear majority of the public, left wing is a clear majority of the media and parliament. Right wing asks you, left wing tells you. Right wing wants to debate the issues, left wing wants to own them. Right wing values tradition, left wing mocks it, right wing is somewhere, leftwing is anywhere.

Jason C She certainly did. She spelled out her proposed policies in the manifesto, made it very clear what she was going to do if elected and then did exactly that. She believed in conviction politics, where you state your intentions and let the electorate decide if that's what they want and if they voted for her she carried it out.
Quite different altogether from May who has not followed the manifesto at all, in fact she has done the opposite.
@@Iain1962 Correct. She had her opponents but she knew what the majority wanted and delivered it - enormously popular. A sort of 'command' democracy.

@Importantjohn I guess you must be living in a lefty multicultural bubble. Look at places that are being change beyond recognition, Sheffield’s Park Hill district for example. Headlines in the local press like this “Slovakian Roma in Sheffield: 'This is a boiling pot ready to explode”. Which is why so many people have been smeared as being 'Nazis' who are centre-right, and in some cases (in fact, quite amusingly) who are firmly on the left such as Peter Tatchell and Germaine Greer. It's an ideology that eventually everyone will fall foul of - it's simply too demanding, rigid and authoritarian - a classic religious structure where not being fervent enough means everyone has to accept their in-built guilt with varying degrees of shame.
What a good way of putting it.

When the Tory MP touched her knee, Julia told him ' do that again and I'll punch your face '. Go girl go.
Iain Rae Well, yes, people have a right not to be touched if they don't want to be but women in the main tend to be more tactile than men; I saw a chat show recently where the female host was touching the male guest quite frequently - I can't imagine a man ever saying 'do that again and I'll punch you'.

I Love this woman, so forthright, unashamed, Brilliant interview.
As a rule I don't watch question time. The only time I do is to hear this eloquent woman speak. Her calm clear tones of reason and truth are like a breath of fresh air. Keep up the great work!

What is so nice about Julia is her confidence. She is relaxed in her views, unintimidated by the surrounding lefty attitudes and that makes the rest of us feel a lot better: she is unembarrassed by her unfashionable views (in media/establishment terms). She is our champion.

Well said Mr illy, I’m mixed race and can clearly see that western civilisation is the zenith of human achievement, and it was white people who built it. Its high time this common sense malarkey was put to death by the sword...thank goodness for eloquent, straight talking folk like Julia and Peter. Refreshing to see an interviewer letting the interviewee talk, a rare thing on Sky or the BBC...
I think Julia is too good to be a journalist/broadcaster she is totally grounded unbiased and honest, one of the last of a dieing breed. Thank you so much for keeping my faith in some parts of the media.I bet Julia is a fantastic mother just keep up the good work.

Brexit I am looking forward to never hearing the word again.. but I will fight tooth and claw to keep this country free from a federal Europe. One size fits all may work in Europe but not here ,most Europeans I know never consider as us /GB as being European.

Brewer is quite brilliant , aided by Peter's very good interviewing , allows people to speak and has a ready question when they stop , perfect.
I'd certainly like to be around their dinner table listening to them sort of views . Thank goodness we still have some normal people within our media and ain't scared to air their views.

I didn't really think much about white guilt until I left the Army and went to work in Libya on a seismic survey crew. The majority of the junior staff comprised of about 200 Sudanese who much preferred working for me than for my Egyptian relief engineer who was shockingly racist towards blacks in a way that we simply don't see in the UK.

Right-wing is basically anyone talking sense in politics
"Far right" is someone who behaves like the left but doesn't follow the left wing script.
It does seem to be like that now and, until quite recently, I've always considered myself left-wing.

I'm still waiting to hear a well reasoned argument of why we need another layer of government and courts above our own elected representatives? We have a 'supreme court' (courtesy of Blair fawning over the US) which is subservient to the ECJ, why?
This is the great elephant in the room. I have also yet to hear any rationalisation of the whole shebang. I don't sit in the bath spraying the bathwater with a water sprayer because the water isn't sufficiently wet enough. I don't put another pair of glasses on top of the ones I have on because they don't work, I get a pair of glasses that have the correct lenses and work.. and so on. The whole thing is a Tower of Bable using taxpayers money to create jobs for people who don't make or do anything useful. It's an invention of the political classes who have learnt how to hustle.

This is not as you rightly say about left and right, it is about right and wrong, or as we know it today Nationalism V's Globalism. Look at Europe now. It is moving decisively to Nationalism and it is unstoppable thank God. The Brexit issue will be resolved when the EU collapses within as it will this year. Just wait for the EU elections in May. This is a great channel, very insightful and the guests are people the young need to hear and get to know. Unfortunately, the subscriber count isn't increasing fast enough. I suggest you find some TH-camrs you like, with reasonable followings that are on the same wavelength, or could be open to your opinions. Ask your subscribers for suggestions for guests, or me even?

I wasn't born in England but have lived here for 50 years. I am proud to say that I am a British citizen and love and appreciate this country more than many people born in this country that prefer to fly the flag of the EU, an entity that does not have our best interests at heart.
A really good interview again Peter, Julia always gives an interesting guide to the majority of the UK, the bbc will have you believe she is a fully paid up sheet wearing nutjob.
I can't wait for Brexit to be over so you might bring on some more culture based interviews, such as Jon Ronson (who I don't in the main agree with) and Peter Lloyd. Whenever Peter Lloyd is on bbc or sky he is put straight on the defensive which means the interview becomes boringly about the news caster and her views.

I took her as saying that's how the media talk about him, not that she does necessarily.

I like Julia. She is the kind of woman whom you listen too, simple because she talks common sense and speaks the truth.
When I was at university in the seventies, I had a friend who was a member of Sinn Fein. Even she said she didn’t believe in blaming people for things their parents and grandparents did. I suppose that would make her beyond the pale for the radical left now.
