    Terrific video. Would not have been nearly as smooth if I had to rely solely on the weak instructions provided. Thank you.

    When you twist together the to greens wires, which is the other one?

    • @ceilingfans101
      @ceilingfans101  7 วันที่ผ่านมา

      7:34 there are 2 green ground wires - one from the ball and downrod assembly and one from the mounting bracket. Those will be connected to the house green or bare copper ground wire.

    Is there a way to use/install this fan without using the downrod?

    • @ceilingfans101
      @ceilingfans101  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No, this fan does not include a flush-mount option and must be installed with a downrod.

    the light is not coming on but the fan works. any suggestions on how to fix? thanks!

    • @ceilingfans101
      @ceilingfans101  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      If the light is connected to a switch, the light must be set to on using the pull chain (1 pull) prior to using the switch. If the light is not set using the chain, the light will not come on. Other than that, please check that all of the wiring is completely/correctly connected. If those tips do not resolve the issue, we would suggest calling Hampton Bay customer service (1-855-434-2678). Their team is pretty good at troubleshooting over the phone.

    Can you add instructions for mounting on a slope. No info was given and it’s very confusing. A bit frustrating

    • @ceilingfans101
      @ceilingfans101  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      the installation is the same for s mounting on an angle. The only difference is the opening of the mounting bracket (where the ball of the downrod inserts) must face the peak of the ceiling angle so that the ball/downrod does not slide out of the mounting bracket.

    The instructional video was great! However, for some reason, the fan does not shut on/off when I flip the light switch from inside. The fan was installed in my covered lanai. I'm afraid I may have to return the item.

    • @ceilingfans101
      @ceilingfans101  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for watching. It sounds like the installer did not wire the fan to the switch, that would explain why the fan does not turn off when the switch is turned off. We would suggest looking at the wiring to see if it is connected correctly for switch use. We are not electricians and if you are not comfortable with electricity, we suggest calling a licensed electrician. That being said, in general, a switch wire will be red. The proper connections for a single switch installation would be fan black and blues wires connected to the house red wire (an the house black wire just capped off). If the fan's black and blue wires are just connected to the house black wire, then it probably is not connected to a switch. Hope this info helps!

    Just want to add for anyone asking about the down rod, they make this fan with a flush mount option it’s called the Mena 44 in “hugger” fan

    If you mount outside do you need to buy an extra kit?

    • @ceilingfans101
      @ceilingfans101  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      The fan can be installed in a covered outdoor area with no extra kits/equipment necessary. The only thing you would need is an extension downrod if you are installing on a high ceiling, or a 45 degree canopy kit if the ceiling has a slant angle greater than 25 degrees.

    I appreciate the tutorial! Can you add a portion as well showing without the down rod installation?

    • @ceilingfans101
      @ceilingfans101  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I include that section for fans that have that option. This fan does not have an option to be installed without the downrod. There is a hugger version of the fan (SKU 1008654974) that is designed for rooms with low ceilings.

      Make sure that all of the wiring is still connected correctly. Sometimes wire connections can loosen during the installation process. If that does not solve the issue, call Hampton Bay customer service at 1-855-434-2678. Their team is pretty good at troubleshooting over the phone.

    Can you cap the light if you do not wish to use it?

    • @ceilingfans101
      @ceilingfans101  ปีที่แล้ว

      No, there is not a cap for this fan and it must be installed with the light.

    How do iadd the extension downrod?

    • @ceilingfans101
      @ceilingfans101  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      To add an extension downrod, you will need to remove the ball from the original downrod and attach it to the new downrod. Once that is done, the downrod attaches to the fan as shown in the video.

      Try connecting the fan’s blue and black cables to the red cable coming from the house…. The black cable from the house, leave it by itself. Cover it with the plastic cover and tape
