Hi All a few updaters from XF Robot on the Gimbals. 1: They included the wrong cable for updating the firmware, the correct cable will be sent to users on public shipments. 2: The bodge wire on the head tracker is again for pre production only and you should not get this. 3: They are releasing a number of new features and updates in firmware soon that will make these even better.
Ian, from the looks of the head tracker, it seems ELRS 2.4hgz, so why r u concern using it with RC 2.4ghz? If 2.4ghz could interfere with RC 2.4ghz, most clubs will switch back to the old "pin board sign up" as we use to do with 72Mhz. Yes, I am bit dated.
got mine last weekend and the crsf support works great. i was able to just throw a tiny elrs rx direct to the sbus port(as an additional rx over my main pwm rx controllering the car), configure the channels via the app and works great saved a lot of wiring as i can just throw the channels strait from the trainer port of my edgetx radios direct to channels 10 11 and 12. perfect for rc cars were you have no FC. only improvement i would want is a 5V source for the elrs unit direct from the unit
Wow man!! 🤯 This blows my mind 😉 i totally want one. I have a few 03 air units and would love to play with this. Thanks for the great info. Love the video as always. Beautiful 😁🤯
Hey! First, love the content! I just got a C-20T DJI O3 version with the headtracker and the PCB base plate. Everything seems to work except the head tracker actually controlling the gimbal. They're paired and showing a solid blue light on both. I updated the firmware on both to the latest, and I can connect with CwHeadTracker and GimbalConfig software. They're totally responsive in the software and show proper IMU tracking. But when they're both on and linked, no dice on moving the head tracker and seeing the gimbal respond. I held the mode button on the tracker down for 2 seconds to calibrate the attitude, and it beeps, but the gimbal doesn't respond to that either. I emailed XF Robot support and haven't heard back yet, so I was just wondering if you had any tips to try. Dying to get this onto a fixed wing and fly around like an actual bird. Lol. I don't recommend mounting on a quad to anyone unless they can guarantee they will never crash. This is actually my second gimbal unit because I killed the first one on the first flight on my 10" quad. Oops. The head tracker is a new addition though. Thanks again!
I would be happy if you could explain whether it is allowed to connect the TX output of the CRSF receiver (which is also connected to the flight controller) to the gimbal PWM1 in parallel so that the gimbal can be connected via channel mapping without wasting PWM channels can. (In the instructions there is something about this under S.BUS / CRSF Control, but the explanation is a bit unclear)
Can I connect this to my rc transmiter with cable and use the rc link to communicate movement? This would avoid overlap and would have the range I need.
Would the head tracking work with the Integra goggles and an “old” original full size DJI Air unit without the head tracking transmitter? I mean, is there a headtracker already inside the Integra goggles and can it be used together with the DJI Air unit’s own receiver for controlling the airplane and using the built in vtx of the Air unit? I’m not a knowledgeable person in these systems, but I’d love to put together a three axis gimbal system with head tracking for my Integra goggles and my original DJI Air unit on a rc sailplane.
I am going to try same thing with integras and 03 air unit. My c-20t will be here tomorrow. Didn't order head tracking kit yet 😉 and looks like i may need to find that usb c port or maybe pass through 😁 did you figure it out?
Really excited. I really want to try that 1D gimbal on a cine whoop. But the link for purchase doesn't work :( The 3-axis gimbal is available for purchase, but the head tracker and the 1- and 2-axis aren't :(
The three axis gimbal and head-tracker, with the Moonlight kit, mounted underneath the nose of a wing or multirotor, with the head-tracker stuck to the back of a small 7" screen with set of handles, will make an excellent Directors/CameraOps set up for live sports production - give the pilot a separate FPV feed from the usual fixed camera, while the gimbal mounted one does the smooth motion needed for production quality footage.
Hi Ian, I would like to fly with my C-20T but feel safer if i do that over PWM from my radio. Just wondered if you've used the C-20T on PWM yet, I've tried it but it didnt work. Perhaps i need to adjust some settings. The XF instructions don't go into detail on how to use the features
cool too know even if some of us wanna use it on normal RC's as a user with 03 system just wired with power transmitting to the V1 of the DJI goggles be nice to see if can add this gimbal system to it 😉 hopefully can last one or two bumps if on a X-maxx
I will have a wide use O3 video coming but there are some changes coming in FW that will make peoples live better so I’m waiting for that to release before making the video.
Could this be used with a dual operator setup? As far I understand it allows you to give some input to gimbal via second expresslrs link outputting sbus? It would be nice and easyer if one could setup this in a way to accept the dji rs Pro protocol (sbus with limits) that expresslrs already supports as output protocol.
Does anyone know if this setup will ramp the 03 air unit up to full RF power output? The 03 needs a signal from a flight controller to “arm” it to go to full power or you are stuck at 25mw output
Please Help. When I click bind button on head tracker the head tracker light blinks fast to bind correctly . But when I click the bind button on the XF C-20T O3 Version Integrated Base Plate, no changes are made, the blue light blinks the same no matter how many times I push button and the Base Plate Light (inside gimbal assembly) blinks slower then the light on the head tracker. O3 Air unit is connected to the gimbal and I can see video through the headset but head tracking is not working. I want to use the C-20T to support direct control via the head tracker. head tracker and gimbal firmware are updated. Is there firmware that needs to be updated for the Base Plate? The Base Plate does not bind. The Base Plate bind button does not work and does not bind to the Headtracker, but the head tracker Bind button does work. The O3 air unit is good and is mounted on the gimbal with power. To make direct control fuction, what additional wire should I solder to the aircraft flight controller? I have soldered power in (10V) and ground from the flight controller on the aircraft to the Power-Communications Port (SM08-GH-TB) on the Base Plate. All wires, cables, and connections are connected as instructed by the O3 Base Plate instructions, except for the remaining wires for the Communications Port (SM08-GH-TB) on the Base Plate: Power: connected and soldered (10V) GND: connected and soldered NC: not connected, do not know what to do-I want direct control via the Headtracker NC: not connected, do not know what to do-I want direct control via the head tracker PWM1: not connected, do not know what to do-I want direct control via the head tracker PWM2: not connected, do not know what to do-I want direct control via the headtracker PWM3: not connected, do not know what to do-I want direct control via the head tracker PWM4: not connected, do not know what to do-I want direct control via the head tracker"
Watching this video makes me regret buying the HEQ 3-Axis Gimbal. HEQ has so lower movement on the roll axis and this kit gives you so many possibilities! :( :( :( :( :(
I want to provide to customers the capability of moving the camera and choosing some of the video angles themselves.. so I keep piloting and providing another google to someone with head tracking give them the freedom of choosing some angles and live bit of fpv experience at same time
There are ways to use that too with the coddx branded version of this same thing. I would think that means its possible to do with these too. My understanding with the caddx one is there are a couple options. You can run this straight from the goggles to the VTX or use your RC system and run the controls through your FC like a servo.

Ian doing his best Stevie Wonder impression when testing out the head tracking! (Yes, I know I am going to hell. LMAO)

You’re by far the best drone TH-camr ever. I really enjoy your content 😊

Nice gimbal! It will be cool to see how it handles bash mode :)
Great video. Thank you Ian. Hope you all like this product
The stabilisation is phenomenal!
Can you show how to hook up hdz goggle head tracking instead of their module??? Can we do tracking without that receiver board if that's the case???

Would love to see a complete tear down of this gimbal 🙏
It would be interesting to see with fixed wing + O3 + goggles 2. And also testing with 2.4 Elrs, will long range be possible
It depends on what you consider long range. Pretty sure DJI is limited to only 25km on O3 with the G2.
Would the 2 axis support DJI O3? No option for it. Seems like there would one...?
cool too know even if some of us wanna use it on normal RC's as a user with 03 system just wired with power transmitting to the V1 of the DJI goggles be nice to see if can add this gimbal system to it 😉 hopefully can last one or two bumps if on a X-maxx

@@MadRC like said in video it wasn't a full review yet but still a interesting kit
I'm trying to figure out how to get head tracking to work with Fatshark Dominator HD goggles. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

What does happen if you stabilise the vidéo (o3 or walksnail) with gyroflow ? Does it work?

I got the XF Robot. Where is the website that has the firmware updates?
What spectrum analyzer is that?
Does anyone know if this setup will ramp the 03 air unit up to full RF power output? The 03 needs a signal from a flight controller to “arm” it to go to full power or you are stuck at 25mw output
They look exactly the same as Caddx gimbals... :-)
They are ;). I suspect these are the actual manufacturer
Which IP-rating? 67? Can it be rained on?
I have a question, can you use Googles 3 with pair with O3, while using Radiomaster boxer elrs? 😅
yeah

head tracker and gimbal firmware are updated.
All wires, cables, and connections are connected as instructed by the O3 Base Plate instructions, except for the remaining wires for the Communications Port (SM08-GH-TB) on the Base Plate:
Power: connected and soldered (10V)
GND: connected and soldered
NC: not connected, do not know what to do-I want direct control via the Headtracker

Yea this was not even on the radar then. This has a much better available movement.
So, is this rebraned caddx GM, or is caddx rebranding them?
I believe these are the actial manufacturer
I want to provide to customers the capability of moving the camera and choosing some of the video angles themselves.. so I keep piloting and providing another google to someone with head tracking give them the freedom of choosing some angles and live bit of fpv experience at same time
Any compatibility with older dji airunits and dji vista?
Did you watch the same video? He stated the answer at least twice in the first 4 minutes.
I want one!
Best get some new FPV gear first!
so the 6 xis on the goggle x does nothing
There are ways to use that too with the coddx branded version of this same thing. I would think that means its possible to do with these too.
