    What an extraordinarily thorough review! I've looked at lots of reviews for this particular bed and not one of them comes close to the depth of information you've given the viewer (shopper). You even talked about the warranty! Who does that? Not any other reviewer that I've seen.

      Hi and thanks for the great comment!! GoodBed was founded when Mike (our founder) and his wife were shopping for mattresses and could find no reliable, objective information on them. Everything was from shady websites (many of which were actually owned by the mattress companies). So he started GoodBed from the point of view of mattress shoppers and everything they would need to know to make a decision. Thank you again for the kind comment!

    • @goodbed
      @goodbed  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi Carolina,
      Thanks for the comment and question. Now that you've taken the quiz, you can check out the Brooklyn Signature on GoodBed and see how it compares against the criteria you noted as important. Once you've taken the quiz, you'll be able to see your "match score" for any bed, although our algorithm first shows you the ones that scored most highly.
      If you navigate back to GoodBed and to the Brooklyn Signature, you should see your match score for that model a little way down the page on the left. www.goodbed.com/mattress-line/brooklyn-bedding-signature/
      You'll see not on the score, but below that see exactly why or why not that particular mattress might meet your needs.
      If you don't see a match score, you might need to take the quiz again so the system applies your criteria to all models, but if you've taken the quiz recently, the site should recognize you and show your scores.
      Hope that helps!

    Thanks for another great review. Unfortunately, there is no place on the east coast where I can try out a Brooklyn Bedding mattress. I have tried out the Nest Alexander Hybrid mattress in their showroom. My question is: how do the Brooklyn Bedding categories (soft, medium, firm) compare to those of the Nest Alexander Hybrid? Typically I prefer a softer mattress, as I am side sleeper. When I try most brands with these configurations, I almost always prefer the "soft." However, the Nest beds seemed to run quite soft - more like Medium/Soft/Very Soft than Firm/Medium/Soft. It is difficult to tell how the Brooklyn mattresses rate in comparison. Is the medium a true medium or does it push a bit toward the soft or firm side? Is the soft supportive enough if one occasionally lies on one's back? Is the general feel of the Brooklyn Signature similar to that of the Alexnder Hybrid (it looks to be from all the videos, but it's so hard to tell!) Thanks for any information you can provide! These terms are so subjective, and it's difficult to make a decision based on videos without having the opportunity to try it out.

    • @ellenlivingston9978
      @ellenlivingston9978 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I should add that while I liked the Alexander Hybrid a great deal, I am exploring the Brooklyn Signature mainly because it is not as high (just under 12" vs. just under 14") and I will be using it for an adjustable base so I'd like to have something that isn't quite so tall. If you have any information on how each of these perform on an adjustable bed, that would be helpful as well. Thanks again.

    • @goodbed
      @goodbed  6 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Hi Ellen -- Thanks for your question and your kind words. In terms of how the softness level of the Brooklyn Signature compares to the Alexander Hybrid, we have found those to be pretty similar in the models that we have directly tested (the Brooklyn Signature Medium and the Alexander Hybrid Medium). We classified both of those models as a Medium-Firm on our softness scale, meaning just to the firmer side of Medium. (Note: I realize this will sound less soft than how you perceived the Alexander Hybrid models to be, but keep in mind that perception of softness is all relative to your personal frame of reference. In our case, this is based on testing of hundreds of mattresses from many different brands.)
      In terms of adjustable base compatibility, we did test the Brooklyn Signature on an adjustable base. You can see this discussed at 19:42 in the video. Although we did not have a chance to test the Alexander Hybrid on this front, I would expect it to perform similarly, with the small exception of the difference in height that you already noted of course.
      In terms of the differences between these two models, the biggest difference would be that the Brooklyn does not have any memory foam, whereas the Alexander Hybrid has 2" of memory foam, giving it a little bit of slow-melting memory feel on top (though not as much as a full memory foam mattress). This is what we call a preference-based characteristic, meaning there is no better or worse -- it is simply a matter of what your personal preferences are. I would recommend checking out the Responsiveness sections of our Brooklyn Signature and Alexander Hybrid reviews (chapter headings can be found in the description of each video) for more detail on how they differ in this respect. For convenience, here's a link to the Alexander Hybrid video:

      I hope that's helpful.

      One more question -- your responses are so helpful I couldn't help myself! The Tomorrow Sleep mattress is a hybrid that has some memory foam on the top layers - would the feeling of that be at all comparable to that of the Alexander Hybrid (moreso than the Brooklyn Signature Hybrid)? I see it is almost 4 inches thinner than the Alexander Hybrid (10" vs. 13.5") and that's a plus for me. (I keep referencing the Nest mattress because that's the only one I've been able to try out in a local store, so that's my frame of reference). I will be sure to use any coupons on GoodBed when I finally make a purchase, in the hope that you get something from it, as you've been very helpful and responsive (pardon the mattress pun!) :-)

    Hello! As usual, thank you for your wonderful reviews! I was wondering if you think Titanflex foam is good quality foam? I would hate to buy this mattress only to have it start sagging in a few years. Also, I'm female around 125 lbs. Would the soft be okay if I slept on my stomach? I'm mostly a side sleeper, but unfortunately, I tend to end up on my stomach a lot. It's hard to find a mattress to accommodate both sleeping positions.

    • @goodbed
      @goodbed  6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Hi MK -- Thanks for your question (and kind words!), and sorry I missed this one earlier.
      In terms of your question about the Soft, my instinct is that at your weight you should be totally OK sleeping on your stomach, even on the Soft version. As you saw in the video, the Medium version that we tested fell into the Medium-Firm category on our spectrum, so I would imagine the Soft version would be no softer than a Medium-Soft on our spectrum, which in general could still be passable for even a medium-weight stomach sleeper (but probably not a heavier stomach sleeper). As you are a lighter-weight stomach sleeper, I don't have a lot of concerns in your case.
      In terms of the quality of TitanFlex foam, as I described in the Price & Value section at 25:05 in the video, this is a bit of a tricky one to answer since it's a proprietary material with relatively limited history. That said, I do think we know enough about its makeup, density, and history to know that it's at least OK -- and likely better than OK. And going a bit further than that, I do take added confidence from the fact that their warranty covers any sagging of greater than 1" (vs. 1.5" in most innerspring mattresses). This shows me that *they* have confidence in this material, which in turn gives *me* confidence.
      I hope that's helpful.

    So they skew on the firm side? I saw another review say they skew on the soft side. I’m not sure whether to go firm or medium... my wife has occasional back pain flare ups, would firm be best for that? Thanks for the video.

      Hi Larry. Thanks for the comment and question. Check out our written review, which has our detailed ratings for support and pressure relief: www.goodbed.com/reviews/brooklyn-signature-mattress-review/
      Keep in mind that no one can make a blanket recommendation for a mattress that's generally good for back pain -- it's about finding a mattress that suits your body, sleep style and support needs, and that is going to vary by the person: Their size, weight, shape, and more.
      I'd suggest heading to our quiz -- we made it for exactly this reason, so that you can answer a few questions then get a detailed breakdown of mattresses that would suit your needs.

      @goodbed  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi there -- Thanks for your question. As long as the criteria and considerations described in this video sound like a good match to you, then yes, we would certainly recommend this mattress.
      That said, if you are looking for more general recommendations that might include some models you haven't yet considered, I'd suggest taking the GoodBed Quiz. We designed it for exactly this situation. Once you answer a few questions about your body type, sleeping style, and preferences, we can match up your needs against thousands of mattresses from both online and store brands. You'll get a "match score" for each mattress along with specific notes about how that mattress is likely to meet your needs.

      @goodbed  4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Hi Andres. Thanks for the question. Some of these compressed mattresses take just a couple of hours to fully expand and some take a little longer. But there's no danger in sleeping on it right away. Most of them expand very quickly. It's hard to know how long a given product has been packed in the box, so that can account for some variation in the time it takes for them to expand.

    • @goodbed

      Hi Renae -- Thanks for your question. Given that you found the soft side of the Layla to be too firm, I'm worried the BB Signature Soft will also not have quite enough softness for you. I might suggest looking at the BB Aurora Soft instead. We tested the Medium version of the Aurora and found it to have about the same level of softness as the Layla (soft side). So I think the Soft version could be more of what you need. You can see our full review of the Aurora here:

      J V did you end up keeping the winkbed soft version? I had the winkbed luxury firm and returned it. Too firm for a side sleeper, but really love the build of winkbed. Consider the Brooklyn signature soft or winkbed soft. Your feedback on what you ended up doing would be appreciated.

      @@rachels.1245 I have tried both winkbed soft and Signature soft. Winkbed softer is certainly softer than luxury firm, but it is more of a medium soft. While I loved the pillow top, its construction somehow gave me a lot of shoulder pain. The Signature soft seemed like a more uniform construction, a tad softer in the support but certainly the comfort layers were not adequate for me. I don't need a sinking hugging feeling, but at least it should be soft on the surface to cradle you just enough. I didn't get that with Signature. I ended up returning both. I am finally sleeping ok with a tulo bamboo memory foam mattress with a old cooling pad that I had from sleep number. The mattress feels soft yet supportive for just 200 bucks. But it is memory foam, so the heat trapping happens. The cooling mattress pad and thick cotton sheets help.

    • @goodbed
      @goodbed  6 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Hi +peptoman2222 -- Thanks for your question, which is indeed a very common question that we receive. I would love to help, however to avoid inadvertently misleading people into buying that mattress, I have always made a point to steer clear of this topic.
      The number one thing to understand about mattresses is that no one mattress is good for everyone. Overall, there are at least a dozen or more criteria that should be considered in matching someone with a mattress, which means that there are hundreds of possible permutations for your mattress requirements. This in turn means that statistically, there is a very low probability that you would have the same criteria as me -- and thus the mattress that's best for me would not be the one that I would recommend for you.
      Net, to avoid the possibility of inadvertently mis-guiding anyone, I steer clear of this and instead urge our readers to take our mattress match quiz, which we created in order to help you quickly assess your own personal needs and preferences. It will also search across brands and stores (both online and offline) to find the options that best match your requirements. FYI, if you haven't taken it yet, you can find this quiz here:
      www.goodbed.com/mattress-finder/
      I'm sorry for such a long answer to a short question, but I hope this explanation is helpful.

    Hello! Have you had a chance to try the Aurora mattress from Brooklyn Bedding? Also- how would you compare this signature mattress to the Nest hybrid?

    • @goodbed
      @goodbed  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Brandon -- Thanks for your question. We actually have completed our review the Aurora. There is a bit of a backlog in our editing queue at the moment but I would expect it to be released in the next few weeks. You can subscribe to our TH-cam channel or follow us on Facebook to be notified once it comes out. Once it's available, you'll also be able to find it on our site here:
      www.goodbed.com/mattress-model/brooklyn-bedding-aurora-medium/
      In terms of how the Brooklyn Signature compares to the Nest Hybrid -- to which Nest Hybrid are you referring? The Alexander Hybrid or the Latex Hybrid? Overall, I would say the feel of the Signature is more similar to the Latex Hybrid than it is to the Signature Hybrid.

    Hi Mike, Which one do you recommend between this and the Beautyrest Silver Hybrid that you reviewed? I sleep on my stomach, back and sides. Thanks

    • @goodbed
      @goodbed  5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Hi there -- Thanks for your question. As with any mattress choice, it's really going to come down to your personal needs and preferences.
      In the case of these two choices, the biggest difference between them is the degree of memory feel. You'll get a lot of it on most of the Silver Hybrids whereas you'll get basically none of it on the Brooklyn Signature models. This is not a better or worse thing -- it is strictly a matter of personal preference. Some people love that slow-melting memory feel and some people hate it, while others are somewhere in between. Likewise, you'll find that the Brooklyn Signature models have more of a floating on top of the bed feel while the Silver Hybrids tend to give you a more hugged or cradled feel -- this is also a personal preference thing, not a better or worse thing.
      Net, if you prefer a quicker-responding mattress with more of a floating sensation, the Brooklyn Signature models will be better for you. If you prefer a slow-melting memory feel with more of a hugged or cradled sensation, the Silver Hybrids will be better for you.
      I hope that's helpful.

    When you jumped it sounded kind of loud. Would you say its loud? Currently using a memory foam mattress, which I find terrible for doing things couples might do lol. The memory foam was comfortable but also is old and slightly lumpy now. Im looking for a mattress that has a bit of bounce but isn't noisy as I have a roommate. I understand coils may add noise, but Ive read individual coils are quieter than the old style Do you have some suggestions?

    • @goodbed
      @goodbed  6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Hi there -- Thanks for your question. I'm glad you asked this because the noise you were hearing was not actually coming from the mattress at all.
      The thing that can make mattress coils noisy is when metal rubs against metal. However, as you noted the coils in this mattress are individually pocketed coils, which means that there is a fabric pocket around each coil. This type of coil design prevents metal from one coil from touching metal from another coil -- ergo, no noise. So, any noise you hear when I bounce or move around on the mattress in the video is coming from the adjustable base we have underneath the mattress, which does have a lot of moving parts where metal can rub against metal.
      I hope that's helpful.

    Mike, how would you compare the feel of this Titan foam to Latex? Less pushback? Does this provide more of a pillowtop feel then sleeping directly on latex?

    • @goodbed
      @goodbed  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi Mark -- Thanks for your question. TitanFlex has a similar quality to latex, but its responsiveness is not quite as fast, so it does not quite have as much springy buoyancy as you find with latex. To answer your question, I guess you could describe that as less "pushback." Relative to a pillow top, we do note in the video that this new version of the Signature has a more familiar feel (in a good way -- like a pillow top that you like and are used to, for example) much moreso than the latex version did.
      I hope that's helpful.

      Hi Jake -- Thanks for your comment, and sorry you're having trouble. I do understand how in-depth mattress reviews like these, which do have a very consistent method and structure, can all start blending together after a while. 😊
      Recognizing this, we've never actually thought of reviews as the most efficient way for people to discover the best mattress for them. For this purpose, we created a much better tool -- a simple but sophisticated Match Quiz. It works by asking you all the relevant questions to fully assess your requirements (including some factors that might actually be important to you but would not have otherwise thought to consider), and then using an intelligent matching algorithm that searches across all brands and stores (both online and in your local area) to find ones that match your unique needs and preferences. If you haven't taken it yet, you can find it here:
      www.goodbed.com/mattress-finder/quiz/
      The idea is that in a matter of minutes, this quiz will do the heavy lifting to help you figure out which options are the best match for your personal requirements. And if you click your match score, it will even show you why. Then, having already massively narrowed down your field of options, you can watch the videos for just those products (or read the written versions of those reviews) to help you better understand the full range of features of those mattresses and confirm they are indeed a good fit for you.
      I hope that's helpful for you.

    Would you go nest hybrid or this hybrid?

    • @goodbed
      @goodbed  6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Hi Blake -- Thanks for your question. Nest actually makes a handful of different hybrid options. The Alexander Hybrid is probably the closest to this one in terms of price, but it uses memory foam in the top layers, which gives it a bit of that slow-melting feel on top which you do not get on the Brooklyn Signature. In terms of feel, the Signature probably falls somewhere in between the Alexander Hybrid and the Hybrid Latex. FYI, if you haven't seen them yet, you can find our in-depth reviews of each of those options by going here:
      * Nest Alexander Signature Hybrid: www.goodbed.com/reviews/nest-alexander-hybrid-mattress-review/
      * Nest Hybrid Latex: www.goodbed.com/reviews/nest-hybrid-latex-mattress-review/
      I hope that's helpful.

      Last question. I am now torn between the Alexander Hybrid and the Nest latex Hybrid. Does nest charge for returns and if I have never slept on a latex mattress before is this sinky at all or hard as a rock? I am returning the Oceano from Brentwood (medium) which I love but wanted a option to try the latex (being alittle more less toxic and less expensive). Any advice knowing that I like the Oceano?
      Thank you and great job on your vids....

    • @goodbed
      @goodbed  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi Blake -- Thanks for your kind words. 😊 Re: your first question, neither Brooklyn nor Nest charges anything for returns. Brooklyn's trial period is slightly longer but I think that overall you can consider those two companies a wash in terms of their return policies.
      Re: the Nest Hybrid Latex, I actually wouldn't use either of those words to describe it. Latex tends to have a very floaty sensation in general, and I would say these Nest models are no exception so I definitely wouldn't describe them as "sinky." In addition, it comes in 3 different softness levels. We tested the Medium version and classified it as Medium-Firm (ie, slightly less soft than Medium) on our softness spectrum -- similar to Casper and many other popular options, so definitely not "hard as a rock." It also comes in a Plush version that we classify as Medium-Soft (ie, slightly more soft than Medium) and may even be at the softer end of that classification.
      For more information about the Nest Latex Hybrid, I'd recommend checking out our review of it here:
      www.goodbed.com/reviews/nest-hybrid-latex-mattress-review/
      Re: the Oceano, I'm afraid we haven't done an in-depth review of that mattress, so I can't speak to it in nearly as much detail as I can these other options. Sorry I can't be of more help on that part of your question but I hope the rest of this information will still be helpful for you.

      Hi Rhonda. Assuming you are looking for a hybrid mattress, we have reviewed some that had really excellent edge support. Here are a couple to take a look at:
      WinkBed Plus -- designed to support heavier folks and had great edge support in our tests:

      Saatva HD -- also designed for heavier people, it has exceptional edge support in our tests and we thought it would suit a wide variety of sleepers:

    why do people even cover reviewing stomach sleeping? do people not realize it is horrible to sleep on your stomach? if you're a stomach sleeper, ya gotta stop!

    • @goodbed
      @goodbed  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Even so, it's awfully hard to "change" your habitual sleep position. Some people are simply more comfortable sleeping on their stomach, or find themselves there at some point during the night. So certainly we want to include that sleep position in our ratings.
      Thanks for the comment!
