Meals Mean More in Mathare Valley

  • Mathare Valley is one of Africa’s largest slums. More densely populated than Manhattan, it is one of the poorest and most dangerous places in Kenya, especially for the 500,000 children living there. For Patrick and Molly, they couldn't just stand by.
    Patrick started a school for children in Mathare Valley. It's more than school, though: It's a sense of safety and - with Convoy of Hope - nutritious meals every school day. Molly's life was changed by Convoy's programming and she's now helping other kids through it.
    "By taking the children into our school, we become father to them, counselor, guidance, and protector."
