Couldn't have said it better myself 👏🏻
My favourite bass TH-cam channel has replied to my favourite bass TH-cam channel!
Keep up with these comments 😂
Seeing Charles leave such encouraging comments on new bass channels like this shows that Charles is not only a PRO musician, but he is also incredibly humble. 😁

You guys should collab!
As a long time bass player, I feel like all songs are being played by the drummer, and everyone else accompanies him.
After years, I FINALLY feel like a proficient guitarist. After watching your videos for the past few months, I just bought my first bass. Thanks for the inspiration!
He is so good at giving a lot of information over short periods of time! I am so thankful for this channel helping us all get good
Brilliant lesson Charles! I’ll definitely work on incorporating these into my playing!
You are a superb bassist, teacher and presenter. Brilliant!
I can sense that these tricks will make my basslines sound like a pro
Great tips man. Used to play six string piccolo bass, joined a band a month ago and got myself a short scale Harley benton (small hands) and now I exclusively play bass. I've followed you for a while now and you are the reason for my love of bass and why I've almost made more progress with bass than I have with guitar in two years - its just so damn fun. We're doing a cover of cry of achilles for our long term project and man... that's gonna be hard and almost too much fun to handle
Thanks Charles. This video was a real eye-opener for me. I’ve been learning how to play for a while (I’m not very focused), and have been coping songs and trying to improve my technique. I still had no idea on how to approach creating bass lines and understanding how to implement everything in a cohesive and meaningful way. With only a few clear and easy to understand tips you have conveyed an incredible amount of information. I can feel my lethargic brain fizzing with activity and excitement as the new musical knowledge begins to unfold.
Wow charles thank you for your video it help me to study and hello from moscow
Clear, simple and effective tips delivered in a short video. This is just the stuff I need. 👍
I'd love to see Charles do a tutorial teaching whole songs, easy and difficult (maybe some complex victor stuff cuz not a lot of people do that😀)
Nice to know some of these were instinctual lol
Been a bass player for years but i dropped it for a while and picked it up again recently.
Such a fun instrument.
Damn this is genius lesson! Easy to understand and follow, very effective. Thank you so much Charles! ❤
You're welcome!
I don’t play bass, but these videos help make my bass parts sound better when I’m composing
So good - thank you! This is the first bass tutorial I have ever watched. I have a ukulele bass & I just decided today that I want to expand my skills - I also just learned from your video that bass is the coolest instrument in the world, so that’s good to know 😄
Charles knows all of the tricks! Trust in him for your bass needs and he'll never do ya wrong. 🤘
I'm just a beginner. I so enjoyed seeing and listening to the technics displayed. Definitely would like a T Shirt.
THIS is what many new folks NEED to here and practice. You KNOW what to teach.
Marco Hietala was my inspiration to start playing the bass guitar. He played a lot of different instruments but mostly 4 strings. I currently own a squire j bass as seen on my profile picture and I absolutely love it. You are an inspiration to the bass community!
I love it , i love it, i love it. And I don’t even play bass really. But I love listening to this guy. Amazing stuff
Some absolute gold nuggets there. Thanks Charles
Holy! New video @.@,, Always Thx Charles!
Good advice for all accompanying musicians. Love your work.
makes total sense
These tips are incredible, Charles. I'm going to steal them to make my "Groove" more interesting!❤
Thanks Charles for your input to the bass community

This man is my savior at bass 💪
Thanks so much for the lesson
Very useful tips Charles
Excellent advice! Thanks for the time and effort you put into these videos are they are so helpful!
Charles, I'm excited about this new channel. I was hoping that at some point, you would (in some capacity) carry on Jim Stinnetts' work.
Very good lesson Charles. This helps out a lot.
Great advice as always, now to wait on the "how to double thumb made easy go fast in a day" video 😂 Seriously, one of them would be nice 😊
Thank you Charles ❤❤
Great lesson! Thanks!
These are very important tips.
Thanks Charles!
Thanks for the good tips, Charles 🙂👍
Excellent!!
Always awesome
A great tutorial!!! Thank you!
thanks!
We wanna know more....keep going on Charles.
Wow love from Cameroon
Bro, now I really want merch
I think that's one thing that lacks is understanding the roles of the rhythm section. There needs to be more videos explaining this . This did a good job of the relationship of drums and guitar
Honestly, much of this advice can go for any instrument including voice.
Super helpful video
This is so pro 😮
Super tutoriel !!!!!
Brilliant.
for leaving space for blast beat snares, what I do is mute or play ghost notes when the snare is accented
Number one!
nice sharing thank you
Hello, I don't want you to take this comment as a negative criticism, it's just an observation.
You're an incredible musician, not just a good bass player, period. It's understood. But you're also creative.
I think, and this is a personal opinion, that what your audience wants from you is not to "sound professional", but rather to learn to be creative. In my experience, this means learning to listen to music better. Understanding rhythm and harmony, and finding your place between the two. So, I think you should follow this path, as you are. Congrats,
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤. Thankyou for the lesson sir Charles
Once i am moved i will be joining the patreon!
Nice!
Love fr. Nepal greatest basist ever brother....
Guy's a genius.
I will take note on this, thank you, Charles :)
I would love to have that track played by a band (with Charles included, of course) and recorded in DSD256 :)
Trick 3 is fantastic for me...because I never learned how to slap/pop and do insane bass riffs anyway! 😂
Solid!
As a mostly rock / metal pick player, I have never and couldn’t slap a bass lol. Good stuff though! 👍
Guitarist here and I actually figured out all of these tips when I joined a cover band as a bassist. I call them bassist tendencies.
i am working on some Jaco Pastorius, also trying to set in time to practice slapping but i cant get comfy with the slapp. BUT i found my favourite song to practice fingering and ghost notes today and played it fairly well, well that's what i think at least :P Pink Floyd Sheep is kinda fun to play :)
Hey this guy is pretty good
Thanks this lesson really helps also what program are you using on the backing track
Good video. How about how you record and mix your bass?
I like it
For tip 1: it doesnt always have to be the kick!! In most cases itll be the kick and this is a vid for beginners but there are some cases where the hi hat, snare, ride, etc. Can be leading the rhythm. So focus on ehats leading the rhyth!
Also love the new song
Could u make a full Song out of that Exercise part ?
That intro music sounds like a norwegian rocksong, called Splitterpine
Супер, спасибо что делишься
Clint Eastwood as a drummer: "GET OFF OF MY SNARE!"
Can you take somgs from the band Animals as leaders and create bass guitar parts for their songs since they are 2 eight string guitars and a drummer ( not to mention backing tracks)? It might be a challenge to create bass parts, and it would be a gas to see what you come up with. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE? Start with Tooth and Claw

You're the man, brother!
Hey Charles, hopefully you're able to see this post. So I'm using a 6 string multiscale parallel fret bass with super light gauge strings. And to put it shortly, I'm feeling the difference between the higher strings and lower strings. What type of strings do you use for your tapping?
Is Mark King your favourite bassist? You keep your bass up as high as his. I'm more of a Jaco strap height guy. Before Jaco, I was more of a metal guy and had my bass at my knees
A guy named Michael once said to paddle the root during a solo to emphasize it and draw the crowds attention to the soloist. 😉
more tutorial 😊😊
what are those extra, smaller pegs on his headstock?

What is the red bass on the right?
Schecter Stiletto with fan frets!
Looks like a Schecter Stiletto model. Several in the Stiletto line but pretty sure it is one of them.
hey charles what songs would you recommend for beginner slap bassists?
I loved tip #5! I notice when you slap, there wasn't a ton of "strings hitting fretboard" sounds. I'm playing on an acoustic bass and I get soo much string hitting fretboard, not sure if its my technique (I'm still pretty new to bass) or just the way acoustic basses are setup. Any input?
I love strings hitting frets.
Who makes that white PJ on the wall behind you?
