Sara Jade I didn’t know than but I For sure as sh*t know now. WTF??!!!!🤯🤯🤯🤯 That has to be one of the all time best showcases of extremely high talented musicianship. Ever! Just imagine if people were able to see this on a platform like The Grammys. It would be a complete shutout. All the other performers would know it’s game over. They would be the only thing anybody would be talking about. That’s the sad thing about these huge BS award shows like The Grammys. The average viewer has no idea of what true real talent is and may never see this high level of skill. That said Sara, no words can even describe what that was. I can’t give enough phenomenal shoutouts for this one. THANK YOU Sara have a great weekend

Fun fact: "And Plague Flowers The Kaleidoscope" is now part of the teaching curriculum for composition analysis at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, one of Australia's most prestigious classical Conservatories. NeO is from my hometown of Melbourne, Australia and my favourite band. Another Melbourne band for you to check out is Be'lakor, Countless Skies from their Stone's Reach album. Cheers!

Sometimes people with influences from all over the spectrum get together to form a band and the result is beautiful. That’s what this is. I’ve heard bands try and it sounds fake or contrived. This band just flows naturally.

    • @dmusiclife5727
      @dmusiclife5727  6 ปีที่แล้ว +6

David Bovey YES! you summed it up perfectly. it was so complex and had multiple layers but just flowed so beautifully. This felt like a rock/metal/folk/everything version of a real classical Orchestra. Beautiful indeed

@@dmusiclife5727 I know what you mean. His double kick was so tight and almost constant throughout the song!
Actually I found out that his name is Dan Presland. Alan Tudyk is the pilot from Firefly/Serenity and the pirate in Dodgeball, which he just sorta reminded me of when I saw him. :>
Funfact: Apparently he quit his $150.000 per year job to tour with the band.

  • @sheepnoisebah

the album version is not too different from what you heard here! they did a fantastic job at this show
other songs of theirs I recommend: As Icicles Fall, Pyrrhic, Forget Not, and probably their most beautiful song Eyrie (less focus on being heavy on this one I feel, but still gets there)

Just imagine them performing this on a platform like The Grammys!!! It would be a complete shut out! Game over for any other performance after them. This song came from an album full of masterpieces. Personally the top of them is As Icicles fall (studio version). It's a poetry amplified by a wall of sound made by gold an steel. The voice of violin, the impassable intricate work of the guitar and bass embraced by the amazing drum work and finally the mastery of the angel and evil voices, so intense and powerful will shock you. I am sure.

wow, i saw the top comment that this was the best reaction to this song and had my doubts, but they were right. no idea who you are, but youve clearly got some knowledge of music. which only increases the appreciation of this incredible song/band.
a few suggestions for other songs for you to react to:
wintersun - time (somewhat similar to this song in certain ways, but also pretty different. they toured together recently.)
orbit culture - the shadowing (ive seen them described as gojira on steroids.)
    sybreed - decoy

One of my personal favs and the second song I eared from them is the very intro of their first album, Tapestries of the Starless Abstract. I eared Forget Not first and then just had to checkout the whole album.
Tapestries got me completly hooked because it is predominantly a black metal song, epic and progressive, which reminded me of Emperor. And I'm a big Emperor fan.

How are you doing by the way Dylan? Love the new setup. (and mic is way better, or is it just me lol!)
So again i want to request Orphaned Land - Halo Dies (The wrath of God)
They are an Israeli band and are considered the pioneers of Oriental Metal. The use a lot of eastern influences in their music is just awesome. The song I suggested is of the album Mabool which is completely writen without choruses.
I really hope you will consider this one. Won't regret it!
