What I got from all the Happy v Lyn games was that assuming roughly equal skill the matchup was in Orc's favor unless they let UD heroes get to too high of a level where they could just overwhelm Wyverns. What's interesting here is that his heroes never reached that level but he still won (even with early Lich kill), so maybe there's more to the matchup than that.

I guess this battle just came down to the gold value of mana. His heroes sustained lots of damage on you in the last 8 minutes, while you lost gold value in units, he generated gold value through hero spell damage.

Ghouls and workers that are harvesting do not tp. I would think it is the same with the kamikaze animation.
The bat survived because the target died from other bats. My thought
@@Eriksvensson4231 looked like animation was given after TP.
@@joelombardo1591 He gave the unstable concoction command before TPing, the bat went into kamikaze mode so it didn't get TP'd, but then the garg it was targeting had died by the time it reached its target. Only after all that did Grubby give the unstable concoction command to the bat once again, which is probably what you're seeing

There's so much to say on this topic. As a graphic designer all I can say is you need to be an illusionist and focus on what's important. Tricking the eye and making everything visually compelling is more important than ultra realistic graphical detail.
lol, how did this comment end here?, I wrote it for a different vid. If anyone has a clue how that happened taking into account that the other vid was the only window open, I'm all ears (or eyes).

There were some obvious mistakes that Grubby also commented on mid game. But biggest "mistake" IMO was the expansion that should have started earlier + another tower there and he would have been able to hold it.
How do you produce units when you are supply blocked? 17:17 supply at 63/61 and a new Wind Rider comes out?
He got supply blocked because his burrow was destroyed. If your food drops below your current population, it doesn't stop production of units already in production.

Unlike in some other RTS like AoE4, the food is consumed upon beginning training, rather than finishing training! The burrow died mid-training of a unit, so the unit still comes out.
is windrider now meta against undead?
if so, its funny it happened directly after his tierlist putting them on D
in another video he was talking about how Happy (best undead player) has been losing to mass wind riders a lot

after using wyvern so many times, grubby still doesn't understand the essence of Lyn's wyvern strat. Lyn expos to force the undead to fight. else it's kiting hell for the orc. and trading hell as well because bats trade badly in terms of gold efficiency. but perfect for an all in. (or xp).
here he was lucky that Xlord forced the fight on himself by deciding to defend his own expo.
after that the game was already won if he just made raiders instead of more xp tomes (wyverns)
anyway ORc's Heroes
and Lyn avoids fight in mid game.. he split wivs and mass creep and harass acolyte..

@grubby how do you split hurt units like that?
Select hurt unit in control group and send to base.
Select control group and shift-click hurt unit and it will leave the selection. Reassign control group to selected units minus hurt one.
That should do the trick.

Can someone explain why Carrion Swarm is considered a good answer to Gyrocopters but not to Wyverns?
I think it's because the alchemist can attack air units without orb, whereas dreadlord cannot. Also the alch acid bomb will do less damage than carrion, but it has the effect of lowering armor which helps the gargs do more damage.
@@christophercain7175 Maybe also Carrion Swarm can be partially negated by Healing Wave, while HU doesn't have access to anything similar

I think Carrion swarm is a better counter to wyverns than Alchemist.
I think it comes down to range of air units and damage cap of spells. Gyros have short range and are fighting destroyers top of UD army so swarm hits mainly gyros. Windriders are far back; carrion swarm will hit 2 wolves, couple riders maybe even hero or 2, so most of damage are wasted on something else. Carrion swarm's max damage is 400/700/1200.
I dont understand why the UD never build crypt fiends anymore against wyverns? Wasn't original reason why wyverns suck and should not be meta against UD that they're easily countered by net?

He has 1 destroyer. Kamikazeed even his accos. You still have 3 wyvern. If you lame and camp the base it's a draw. Notice the score. 81k vs 69k. You didn't lose that yet. He probably unsummoned his entire base too.

How far away from earthquake?
No, UD heroes would've kill every wyvern easily, then Orc heroes after that, and Orc would have no answer for it at that time. The importance of unlimited mana from statues are often overlooked.
@@dark3031 Yes, the statues won him the game. He had 2 providing unlimited mana and healing for all 3 heroes.
Why didn't he go for the statues in the final fight?

The witch doctor should be given the ability to ride a bat, converting him into a flying hero
I think only undead race can overturn game like this in the end in those circumstances. Impressive really i thought grubby had this game in a bag.

The UD doesn't have that many gargs and against 2 armor upgrade detonating on destroyers is a nett loss and you have mass wyvern anyway to deal with those.
I suppose you don't want ghouls to eat them up on the ground, but in principal they could throw nets and just run away.
In this match-up the orc definitely needs a third hero, preferably tc for aura and stomp, fs and sh just cant compete especially later on and can get sniped by cova... just my 2 cents

Yeah man, every time you add even just a single raider, the match always swings in your favor dramatically.

He won because of his 2 statues at the end there. I think you should have chased them down!
Still not splitting against nova and forcing grubby style into wyverns which just poorly trades itself to death if you dont end before 13 minutes. I feel like i watch the same wyvern game everytime with grubby. He isnt adapting or learning it. He is just playing it. He even seen what lyn does and doesnt take any of the good like expo to force undead to fight him instead of creep, or adding in the 2 raiders lyn does every game to actually get something back from the undead who is coil nova and running in the late game. 😢
*edit* i take back abit about splitting. He did start to do it 20 minutes in at least that's new.
Check alch items, if he doesn't have an invul just hex focus him down he can't be coiled T_T

Feel like Alchemist couldve been killed by focusfire & chain lightning easy almost every fight + add Dark ranger 3rd with silence
Always clear those sideways creeps on this map. You lost a burrow to them. And man, if only reinforced defenses had come a bit sooner.
a bit too late expo and I guess 1-2 raiders would have been great in the end to catch those statues. 3 ud heroes with 3 statues is just imba.

G had this easy at end, as long as he had bought *TINY GREAT HALL* instead o waiting for normal GH... Just... *WHY ?!* ... He *DID have* the money and did not need them for ANYTHING else...
Also, he could have done well to *ALSO do:*
1) *Keep ring of prot +4 on FS instead of selling.* Against enemy heroes that rely A LOT on reducing your armor, this item is *PRICELESS.*
2) *Had Fortified defences on time.* -- honestly, this error was actually VERY embarrassing. .. O_o
3) He TP'd too early when harassing Xlord's base I feel. He could have gotten *ALL* acos and maybe a tower or mine. Even at the cost of 2-3 wyvs, it would have been *HUGE* .
4) *REBUILD SHOP **_INSTANTLY_* in the back of his base *AS SOON AS HE SAW XLORD ATTACKING IT at **15:50**...* ... Seriously.. You can't afford to NOT have the prerequisite for bats for long.
He was *SLOW* in his reaction time to rebuild shop...
*5) And, of course... ASK XLORD **_WHY HE PAUSED_** at such a CRUCIAL moment at **21:02** ... :D*

I found your leak at your game, u always move 2-4 units at the same time, u should learn from dota, only moved one unit, let the rest do dps, u missed a lot dps in every game

Hate mass air, but very fun to watch this one
it is nice to see orc play air vs ud because it's a nice counter to the cancerous mass gargs. wyvs give so much map control early the UD cant expo and get critical mass

That was really close at the end. Grubby is getting better at keeping Wind Riders alive (which isn't easy).

Last Fight at Expo grubby only Focus Mikro the Air Units Split to munch and make 0 DMG. Why Not Focus the fuking ghuls u kill nothing again 3 Heroes.
Grubby, are you trying to adjust to a new mouse or something? I haven’t seen such a poor micro air control for awhile…Did you get rusted and in need of oil? 😮 Also, why 2 heroes when Xlord had 3.
