A cheap polarising filter (even if just handheld over the lens) would allow you to see into the window as it would remove all the reflections. Just hold it over your lens and rotate it until the window reflections disappear, and the inside of the office is suddenly visible.

It is also the responsibility of All staff to keep customers Data Confidential & All staff get Mandatory GDPR type Training courses at least once a year , . The Overall responsibility for Controls , checks and compliance lies with Risk & Audit teams , who are Not like the Inspector , they are seperate to all the other "work" teams. Surely the UK Government must have such teams , Instead of relying on You and the public to keep pointing it out . Sad state of affairs Indeed

Law enforcement data processing doesn't fall within the scope of UK GDPR. Instead it falls under Part 3 of the Data Protection Act 2018. It's a common mistake. The principals are broadly the same but it's an important distinction.

A good way of handling lines potentially of insidious inquiry:- "Who are you?" "State the authority by which you presume to inquire." "I just want to know who you are." "Idle curiosity will not be entertained!" It's also Import, (and usefull) to distinguish between the concepts of given name and functional identity. (The who and the what).
I wonder what ISO standard that specific area in the room works to. I worked for a data company who was doing work for the MOD a few years back. And our company needed ISO 27001 if I'm not mistaken. The level of stringency was insane. We needed a seperate secure area on the server. You couldn't have pieces of paper with any info on your desk, you couldn't walk away from your laptop without locking it, you couldn't even discuss anything verbally if there was anyone not involved in the job around you in the office. Officially we needed a separate room where only information and people relating to that job would have access and can talk in private. Afterwards, everything had to be closed on computers and any physical copies had to be put in a safe and locked. I do note this wasn't even personal information or discussions, it would standard business/technical talks IE costs of cabling and labour etc. It was only because it was the MOD it was confidential. The fact this guy can just walk up to a window and see what people are doing is crazy. There's different levels to the certification but I imagine this is a huge breach for the police and should be reported

I wonder what ISO standard that specific area in the room works to. I worked for a data company who was doing work for the MOD a few years back. And our company needed ISO 27001 if I'm not mistaken.
The level of stringency was insane. We needed a seperate secure area on the server. You couldn't have pieces of paper with any info on your desk, you couldn't walk away from your laptop without locking it, you couldn't even discuss anything verbally if there was anyone not involved in the job around you in the office. Officially we needed a separate room where only information and people relating to that job would have access and can talk in private. Afterwards, everything had to be closed on computers and any physical copies had to be put in a safe and locked.
I do note this wasn't even personal information or discussions, it would standard business/technical talks IE costs of cabling and labour etc. It was only because it was the MOD it was confidential.
The fact this guy can just walk up to a window and see what people are doing is crazy. There's different levels to the certification but I imagine this is a huge breach for the police and should be reported
What a waste of tax payers money,no clue how to secure a site .
You could see the inspector was seething after you put him in his place he was stuck for a reply and his only course of action was to,walk away …when he asked to see your footage and you gave him the answer it was all downhill from there for him great job PTTP👍🙂
Isn’t it good when things go smoothly, a little rearranging of the office furniture and he can enjoy the sunlight of the day whilst protecting sensitive information
