    Another excellent, very educational, and informative video thank you for the style or format you use to make your videos. It never gets old for me to watch these types of videos even though I’m very familiar with most everything you are talking about. In a way your videos remind me of UTG, 318 will run,or Just Mopar Joe in the way that they are very information or education type related videos. I really enjoy your videos thank you👍🏻

      Hi James, I want to try and be as hopeful as I possibly can. First of all, thank you for watching the video, but I'm curious when you have it listed in your comment as a TD V6? I'm assuming Dodge truck V6 probably the 3.9 l. I'm not sure if you could be a little more clear about that. I can be of a lot more help and assistance so if you could please get back to me and I will do all I can to help you out

    high compression might lead to premature ignition.
    the engine might need higher RON or OCTANE value to prevent KNOCKING

      Thank you for pointing that out. The compression ratio of this particular Mopar 360 engine is 8.999:1 so even with the camshaft profile that I've got picked out for it and most any other camshaft profile, this should be pretty friendly with most any pump fuel where I live at. We have a range from 87 octane to 93 octane pump gas with or without ethanol and then there's racing fuel which is like 110. Which like I said before should not even need that. But thank you for pointing all of that out because I already had all of that covered and I even talked about this and further video

      @@YskMarquis yeah, well this is an engine rebuild series of videos. I'm not sure if you noticed that or not but I was going to change the spark plugs. The ones that are in there just in there to just to keep the holes plugged up and not letting anything fall into the cylinders not trying to be a jerk but I've been a mechanic since 1992 it is not my first rodeo

    Flat top pistons

      You are right flat top pistons do help with compression bringing the compression up, but something to consider and keep in mind is that a lot of your 273 318 LA engines had factory flat top pistons however they were so far down in the hole cylinder hole that they didn't make enough compression. So then you have to start looking at pistons that has more compression distance. That's basically the distance from the center of the wrist pin to the top of the piston itself. When you can do that then the piston is coming up further in the bore cylinder more than a pistol with a lower compression distance. If you look in catalogs and start looking at pistons, you'll start seeing CD and you'll start seeing numberst out beside them of them also, this video is just to illustrate a quick, easy way to boost compression by adding a thiner head gasket
