I tried it but it does not Puff up....Rather it gets burnt
salt should be hot enough to puff the chickpeas!
You should get the sand hot enough before putting the chickpeas in it, and after a minutes or so take the chickpeas out and wait for the sand temperature to be brought back up again then again put the chickpeas back to roast.
if you drop the chickpeas that is soaking wet on the hot sand it will bring down the temperature down. Always make sure the sand temperature is hot and maintain it at the level. Good luck
