    I installed Mr.Tuffy on my rear tire only and I cut it (no overlap). The problem is that you have to cut it exactly so that there's no gap. It took a long time and a lot of trial & error, but I have no flat tire since, and it feels good. Then, if I go for a long trip, I would take a saddle bag with a replacement (new) tube, a small CO2 cartridge and some plastic levers to take off the front tire if I needed to. Just to share my way. Thanks for your video.

    I used these last night when fixing my sons bike. It was tough at first but I figured I would use my fingers to feel when I put the tube in and it worked.

    For the sharp edges after cutting it to size just use a hot air blowgun to smooth it out and some plumbing tape. Job done. Simples!

      I wouldnt use tape, adhesive tend to have solvents and may not be compatible,,, just say N

    Great Video. How would you compare the slime tire protector to the Schwalbe Marathon with its built in plastic tire protector?

      I smoothed out the sharper edges that made contact with the tube using high grit sandpaper, but I am not sure that was necessary.

      @@bicyclealley8183 could I also use some duct tape to prevent sharp edges? Or might they cut through the tape after a while?

    so when the liner overlaps. you get a nasty bump in the tyre ?

    • @HelloHello-hk4sx
      @HelloHello-hk4sx 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Not a huge one, but it is better to cut it exactly to the right length. I'm having the bike shop do it for me. I'll be paying out my face for it but in the long ride, it'll be worth it.

    • @zeeshimon7138
      @zeeshimon7138 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      A little overlap is not going to affect your ride unless you have really really skinny tires then I can't speak on that

    How effective are these liners or any other liners? I'm always getting punctures on my bicycle and I've invested in good expensive tyres, but small stones still cut through the continental ultra gater skin tyres. How much will this help? I really don't like repairing punctures especially in winter.

    😎👍🏽 I'm sorry to say this but the thing is showing on the video is about useless how much type of guy that uses his bicycle pretty much to go everywhere he needs to go it's best to get a 8802 with the green gel stuff in it or if you're like me you get a lot of flat tires because the inner tube tire either dries out or you run something over and it pops it for the third thing and you may be a tad bit heavy and you're trying to drop some weight cuz the tire can only carry your weight for so long so the heavier you are it will wear it out a lot quicker if you are about 2:40 or below and you have a 26 inch tire you should be good cuz they can carry about 240 I might recommend dropping some weight though down to about 2:30 or below it will extend the life of your inner tube after you avoid everything that can pop they should last about 1 to 2 years you could use saddle soap to help keep your inner tube from popping easily but it's just a pain in the ass to do it but it might be worth it but if you want to go completely pop list tires might I recommend stop a flat inner tube tire whatever size you need it's just going to keep the tire from going flat but you have to change the outer tire every 3 to 4 months or when it wears out use the metal levers to help get it off when you put it on cuz it's going to be more different

    Do not buy these. I literally installed two liners in one tire and still received a flat on more than one occasion. I will admit that I did see a decrease in flats but it didn't stop the problem.

    The 'Slime' plastic ones CAUSE punctures because of the sharp ends where they overlap.
    Despite sanding them down they still cut into the inner tube in time.
    Utter crap.

      The edges should be cut (rounded) with scissors. At least that’s what the instructions show in my kit. P.S. the instructions also say that there SHOULD be an overlap between 1 and 2 cm, not sure about that though. I think I’ll tape the edges as well.
