I met Henry once several years ago. What a sweet man. I asked if I could give him a hug, he took a small step back and opened his arms wide as if to say "come on in." It was a wonderful moment for this 70's kid to hug The Fonz.

I'm a 70s kid also & watched 'Happy Days' as much as I could! I even had a Fonzy lunchbox. I wish my mom or I had had the brains to hang on to it. 😫

I used to live in North Hollywood, and would occasionally come into contact with him in synagogue, or a local restaurant. He was always a pleasant, kind person, even though we were nobody computer programmers. I was lucky enough to be in synagogue the day he named his baby daughter, and I never saw a person as happy and proud as he was that day. He also was very generous, and the oneg shabbat was amazing.
I work in the film business in NYC and had the pleasure of working on a job with Henry. He was always charming as he was in this appearance, and a highlight was when he wanted to join a few of us for lunch at a local pizza place. Very rare for 'Hollywood" types, to be such a humble and accessible person.
I have an unrelated question, but I hope you could help me. What is the best agency to get into auditions or background casting to get my sag card? Do I need to know someone? Or is it possible to show up to any casting? Thanks for your time

We heard Henry Winkler speak about his learning struggles when my family attended a Kiwanis convention in Denver (pretty sure) in or around 2000. My daughter was 14 or 15. When the presentation was over and we were all leaving, Mr. Winkler exited through the same door. On impulse, my daughter turned and approached him. They had a few words and as she started to return in our direction he gave her a little kiss on the forehead. OH MY! Such a small but sweet gesture. She lit up like the Rockfeller Christmas tree! She's in her mid30s now. Still remembers when "Fonzie" kissed her.
His smile still lights up the room. Absolute legend!
I love watching Henry in interviews. He is a pleasure of a man whose shine will never tarnish, an American icon of class and comedy.
If the world was full of Henry Winklers we would be a much happier peaceful world.

Awesome memories of watching the Fonz when I was a kid. A great time to grow up. Miss those days and wish my kids and grandkids could have those experiences.

Who doesn't love Henry Winkler? He is truly a world treasure.
If you never saw him in Night Shift, a 1982 movie with Michael Keaton and Shelley Long , do yourself a favor and check it out. It’s great and a very different role than the Fonz.

I met Henry at an Al Gore rally in 1992 in Columbia Mo. weeks before the 92 election. He was the opening speaker. He was the most courteous and gracious guy.
