I’m thinking of doing this exact same thing but sanding down the logo and hitting it with gloss white and clear coat! I think it would make the logo stand out more
@@vstillz94 look up southbay autoworkz if u live in L.A they sell a carbon fiber led logo for about 180 i think they ship globally to but if u in L.A they can install it for u
i know most people plasti dip their grill, but i want a long lasting cover, how has this held up? i would assume actual paint like this would be much better, looks super clean.
I bought automotive gloss black and automotive gloss clear, and 220 grain sandpaper. I’m a total noob and I’m trying to make sure I don’t fuck this up, so sand first, then clean it, then paint with the black, then finally the clear?
What if you have a mesh grill which has lots of holes do you still need to sand the inside of it too ? I have a brand new matte black grill but I want to make it gloss black
I just did mine and it was my first time ever spraying anything the only thing i did was i sprayed to close that the front is great but all the inside was left with drips😭
-Me•MeXicAn- -•- Thanks you I appreciate it 🙏 and I actually got hit right on the grill which broke, but the paint only scratched off a bit so it actually held up pretty well and still looks decent after the accident! Lol
@@CastellanosMotorSports jeez sorry to hear that man, i kinda didnt want to do this project because when i was doing some research some people said it wasnt worth it cus paint wouldnt hold up n u would have to retouch it alot but its a relief hearing that thanks again man!
I can hear the cuhh’s from here 😂
Thanks man for the upload! I'm doing the same thing to my g37 coupe. Wish me luck
Good luck!! Take you’re time with it 💯

I would hit it a bit so the paint sticks

Nice! And you could always sand the bad parts only and repaint just cover the rest 👌
@@CastellanosMotorSports yeah thats what im planning on doing thanks btw great vid man keep it up!👍

You forgot to show the sanding part
Just sand until chrome is dull!
Man, they came out really hood. Do you have a link to the paint and clear coat used.
Thanks, I just added the link to the description 👍
How long did you leave it drying?
About 15 minutes in between sprays or when it feels dry to touch
Ok thanks
How long should I let the paint dry before clear coating ??
I’d give it like 20 or 30 minutes
do you need the clear coat or no?
Yes
How many bottles did you use
Like 2 but you can get away with 1 if you’re good
What type of tacky paint and gloss black paint did you use man?
