I just bought a 2025 Chevy Silverado RST 4x4 crew cab with the 6.2 liter V8 and I have to say that I love how smooth it rides so to all of the haters saying trucks are supposed to ride rough that's just people hating because they don't have what you have.
Congrats on buying a brand new truck that an older model could've been just as fine. Sure trucks have a nice ride, but let's not forget the classic squarebodies aka where these $60k+ luxury trucks came from.
@@MauriceNL1actually, the Tesla wouldn’t be better in the snow. The regenerative braking that it naturally does can be dangerous, especially if you have already lost traction.
If you enjoy driving and have good driving skills their is nothing more fun then a Rear Wheel drive car in the snow. In stock form a Mustang with a good set of winter tires will do fine. It's lowered or has summer tires then yes you can forget it. My Brother in Law lives in Minneapolis and drives his M3 year round with winters.
I’m from a small town in Northern Minnesota and I take for granted the experience I have driving in snow. We used to go cruise around and drift all night around town. 😅 I was doing the Scandinavian flick back in 98 in my Chevy celebrity every corner😂 oh the good times we had
The taller sidewalls is why that truck rides so much better. You won’t believe how much that makes a difference in ride quality. I had one with wheels like your old truck and then I rode in one with smaller wheels and it was defonitly noticeable.
Hi Randy. I like your 2025 Ram Rebel SST. From what you and others have said,..its very comfortable and smooth driving on most roads. I always have loved the Plymouth/Chrysler Prowler. Thanks for taking us on your "driving adventure on those snowy roads " Take care Randy and be safe brother.
Southern WV Bluefield here, about the same with my 23 2.7 Ecoboost F150, does great whithout the trailer, but loves the fuel towing 28 foot 5,000lb. trailer estimating and I go as easy as I can. Took it to Watoga last summer and got 11.5 some pretty good pulls in Pocahontas County.
@poppyneese1811 Watoga is one of our favorite state parks and we have trips planned for this year. We are in north central WV and take 219 down. I have never gotten better than 10 mpg, but along with towing the camper, we are fully loaded in the camper and truck with 2 adults and 2 Bernese Mountain Dogs. We love Beartown and Droop Mountain St Parks too. We also like to go over to Cranberry Glades. WV is a beautiful state.

Oh the joy of the Kilpatrick Turnpike. I used to ride it between OKC and Tulsa all the time back in the day. Good to see there’s still construction on it 10 years later haha 😅
Randy, this is the best video to convince me to keep my 2001 F-250 7.3 6 speed. I haul an 8,000 lb triple axle travel trailer and it gets 15 mpg. Although it's beat up and rusty, the air and cruise still work,, it rides like a limo and laughs at depreciation.
I got 11 MPG in my 2011 Tundra 5.7, with 154K Miles, towing a Chevy uplander on Saturday 200 miles up and down hilly roads in Utah. from SL to Central I-70
I get 10-10.9mpg in my 22 Durango with the 5.7 towing a 22ft camper from MD to western NY. I was hoping for better fuel economy with the new I6, looks like I will be keeping my 5.7 for as long as possible.
Also you need to adjust your hitch height up more so that more weight is on the trailer axles and less on the rear truck axle and u will be more level and help with fuel mileage and trailer sway and better steering control
In normal tow mode I get about 14mpg when towing a 31ft travel trailer with a Ram 1500 Hemi in Oregon, and parts of Oregon are pretty steep, I still really like that new Rebel just a sweet looking truck.
It didn’t really surprise me that he would get worse fuel mileage. Losing that low end torque hurts when towing. Only getting 11 mph in OK is really bad.
look at your transfer case and see if you have a 2wd mode. If you do that should give you a little better mileage in regular driving towing a trailer might not change that much but it should help a little
I lived in OKC during the 2020 ice storm. No power for about a week, so I lived in my camper. Was also there for the following blizzard. I live in Florida now lol. BTW, my supercharged T100 would get 14 -15 MPG towing the camper at 75 MPH. Then again the camper only weighed about 2500 lbs and the truck uses 91 minimum octane and it's 5 spd 2wd. Also Brine = salt. They're using salty sand on the roads. I think your mileage will improve after it's got some more miles on it. I'm glad you're liking the truck. I was never a Ram fan, but the only thing I don't like about yours is it's not blue lol.
I'm in eastern Canada. That little bit of snow is not a problem. That seems like a lot of slush which will pull you off the road. What caused the most accidents this year was hydroplaning when we had a week of rain.
Morning Randy nice you made it to the your spot and hope you take care going home sorry to hear about your girlfriend spinning out glad she’s home now thanks for the vo

I know people say the ford maverick and new ranger isn’t a real truck but those drive/handle like a car cuz they’re unibody not on a frame like most trucks so the body is more flexible and rides like a dream
How they drive in snow or ice here in Wichita Kansas. 1. Gas pedal floored to start. 2. At the last minute possible brake pedal to the floor to stop. 3. The faster you drive on ice, the faster you are off the roads. 4. If you have four wheel drive or all wheel drive then you cannot slide on ice so go for it.
Same in Australia, they don't use salt. They use something that is environmentally friendly. I have all season tires and never had a problem. Nearly got stuck once but did the old turn the steering left & right to get through.
@@AlenzHSV8 Berridale, NSW gets hit every couple years. It's interesting to see all the people trying to get to Jindabyne with summer tyres. I live in Queensland too. Good afternoon Randy I just saw your video on you towing things with your new ram. It’s doing pretty good isn’t it but you didn’t expect all the snow on this day well I’m glad you’re being safe with all the snow in your area and I hope it gets better for you. When we got a foot of snow, I thought I was going to really miss my Jeep, but my 2025 Ram 1500 handled it like a champ. As far as trucks not riding like cars, that's a bunch of BS. I wouldn't have a problem hopping into my truck and traveling cross country, (as long as my gas is paid because I'm broke). I couldn't say that about the last 3 cars I've owned. If I can drive all day and not feel like I've gone 10 rounds with Tyson, I think that's a good thing. But maybe I'm a different breed of goblin.
I live here in CO snows like crazy when it does people mistake that if they have the best tires 4x4 you still have to watch out for black ice nothing can really save you from it
I give you it’s a good looking truck. I’m glad your wife is OK. That could be pretty scary. I have a 06 three-quarter ton 4 x 4 dodge with the diesel. They use mag chloride on the roads here in Colorado for snow and ice. Years ago, they used a sand/salt combination which was murder for your car and windshield. They use more sand up on the passes in the mountains. Thankfully, they don't use salt.
Great video Randy just be careful on the road man. I’m gonna over the road truck driver and I deal with the snow and ice and some of these people or is dumb as a brick. Keep up a great work brother be safe.
G'morning Randy ☕☕ 😁 . My wife and I recently moved 2,600 miles cross country from Boise ID to northeast Florida & 10 mpg is alot better than the 7-8 mpg we got Towing my enclosed motorcycle trailer with my 02' GMC Envoy. Once we cross the Continental Divide and started dropping in altitude the mileage slowly improved. By the time we hit Florida we were averaging 10-11 mpg. Just for food and fuel it ran me about $1,200 - $1,400 🤥 ..
Hey Randy. Do they have a camera interface for a trailer backup system???. For your dodge or any truck. So you can see exactly what going on right at the back of the trailer end.
The weather you have is common for me living in Sweden in the northen part of Eurpoe, we have to have winter tyres mandatory from December 1st to March 31,if it´s winter weather. Still people do the same misstakes as in Oklahoma and drive to fast and to close and crash their cars. 10000 miles away and the same misstakes...

The Ram looks to be a great truck, time will tell🤔 Don't remember you having a tricked out SUV, like a Tahoe or Yukon? Probably the same mileage, but just think of the comfort.
Brine is basically a pickle juice. It is a liquid with a saltish acidic mixture without being straight road salt. In New England and the Mid West it gets to cold and to much precipitation for that to be efficient. But in locations like were your at it is better cause it's not as corrosive to the roads and bridges.
Hi Randy, how are you able to upgrade your trucks every year. Will appreciate if you do a video on this. I remember when you had the long horn and downgraded to a smaller truck. Let's have this video if you can. Thanks
I like my truck to be comfortable and take bumps in the road without chattering my teeth. I think that is the major reason for shocks and suspension to exist beside trying to keep your rig from shaking apart. We will see how these Hurricane turbo engines hold up.
Now when you get the car back run your tank empty and fill with 91 octane or higher and see if you get better mileage. Also look in your book and see what it calls for fuel when towing. Ford calls for 91 for the twin turbo.
@@Cinephilesteve7909Randy doesn’t “yell” at people making good suggestions, he only calls out idiots who bitch and complain when they could just not watch the videos.
He left it on because of the winter weather coming in that will have to drive in and it is in 2wd until it looses traction in the rear wheels plus it has very aggressive all terrain tires on it because of the trim level which is the rebel off-road trim
I love my Trek bike in this winter weather I would buy another one because I love those thick tires and the lime green color. Out of my 4 bikes the my Trek bike is all weather proof. I recommend the Trek Marlin 5 29 wheels moutin bike it's a 2025 model that I purchase in October. As crazy this weather is I will never drive or fix my 1994 Firebird Formula in this harsh cold mid winter with a 5.7 engine. Because I would be spinning especially with real wheel drive. But my Mercedes W123 thats made in Germany I would love to drive it in the winter weather because I never had a problem with it driving in the winter because it's like a tank..
Work for a dealer and yeah u won’t see the mpg that they say ill will be surprised if they don’t get sued for that and have seen many come back in for engine problems hope yours a good one
You bought the wrong 3.0. I traded my 2020 bighorn with a 5.7 for a 24’ Silverado with the 3.0 diesel. I get over 30 mpg highway and about 14 towing 10k lbs. Plus, the ride is great and the seats are better than my ram seats were. Mine has max trailering so I can tow up to 13k. The only thing it’s doesn’t do better than that ram is 0-60, but it’s a truck so that really doesn’t matter anyway. Nonetheless, good luck with yours and I really enjoy your vids.
I found you driving in bad /snowing conditions much more interesting & was hoping you went to Jessica's car to see if what you could do. Didn't care about the MPG. It varies in different conditions.

Sorry Randy but I’m Canadian what snow lol sending love from Canada
I like my truck to be comfortable and take bumps in the road without chattering my teeth. I think that is the major reason for shocks and suspension to exist beside trying to keep your rig from shaking apart. We will see how these Hurricane turbo engines hold up.
Did you have that engine in you're grand wagoner
@Randy mpg should improve with rear air bags and get rid of that major sag
Now when you get the car back run your tank empty and fill with 91 octane or higher and see if you get better mileage. Also look in your book and see what it calls for fuel when towing. Ford calls for 91 for the twin turbo.
Randy you should of kept the hemi I think a work truck should be a single cab ram that's just my opinion I know you have yours two and that's fine
You must've done this last Thursday
Riding the bump😂😂😂
Randy, want better MPG? Turn off the AWD! No kidding! People will say hogwash but let me tell ya, better MPG and lower RPMs.
@@Cinephilesteve7909Randy doesn’t “yell” at people making good suggestions, he only calls out idiots who bitch and complain when they could just not watch the videos.
But is not dangerous to do that in a icy ❄️ road ?
Turning off four-wheel-drive in the snow doesn’t sound like a very good idea to me
He left it on because of the winter weather coming in that will have to drive in and it is in 2wd until it looses traction in the rear wheels plus it has very aggressive all terrain tires on it because of the trim level which is the rebel off-road trim
@DevisedElite yes it would it still keeps it partially engaged I own a rebel with 4 auto.
You got way more snow than we did in Ponca City.
Where I live got 7" and Byars got 7-9"
Wait did you say your towing in 4x4 while your driving ? Wouldint that mess it up ? Like gas millage wise
plymouth prowler is nice. dodge rebel good truck red looks good. brine is a water & salt & calcium chloride.
I live in Ohio and we got 8 inches then 2 inches of ice and then another 4 inches and it’s been crazy here
