I was just listening to April Mall on "Let's Talk Hoya" explaining why it's so important to get H. 'Elephant' on a trellis immediately, and I couldn't agree more (I'm sure this will mean a lot to her 🤣). Only way to avoid those forever-runners, and get a nice, full plant. Good growing season vs bad is perspective. It's probably a small percentage of people who grow their indoor gardens as well as you do (on a bad year). I think we do tend to raise our expectation as we go along. Finally, I'm offended for you: 100 degrees in October 🥵
i’m in socal too and i can’t enjoy my chai latte with my armpits sweating either 😅 also halloween is def not how it used to be! trick or treating and even partying on halloween used to be an event 😢
Love the 🐘 - it is on my wishlist! I joined the Hoya fb group because of you a while back and I have bought Hoyas from that same seller. She is awesome 🙌🏽 always enjoy your videos 🙂
I feel like life in general is just so different than when I grew up… I remember having sleepovers all the time, hanging out with friends everyday, and yes trick or treating was awesome!!! My son is 15 and his childhood was, I feel, so limited as far as friendships go.. he has friends, but i feel parents are just so much more cautious than any of ours were growing up…. Not too many sleepovers, even hanging out etc.. I feel like families keep to themselves, like nothing I’ve ever seen, especially since Covid too… i feel bad for him, but he’s happy…. I also believe that technology, gaming and the internet has a huge impact on these kids…. I didn’t have the internet until I was in college, so it’s just so different.
I agree, technology has greatly shaped our generations. I do feel worried about the younger generations growing up with SO much. I remember sleepovers too! good times. covid also played into more social isolation and sheltering... happy to hear your kiddo is doing good!
I’m personally Not interested in seeing the anthurium. But if you want to show your anthurium, go ahead girl. Show it. Also, what do you do with the vessels once u cut off the lids ?
My question too. I bought some from Amazon and would use standing up in a glass yogurt vessel. But. Would have to water more frequently since there’s no top
thank you for being candid! after filming this video, I actually have 3 hoya coming in so if I add those into the mix, maybe that might pique the interest of the hoya people 😅 and I keep some as I have some extra lids lying around but if they are too algae ridden, I tend to throw those away.
I love your channel and mostly because of all your beautiful Hoya and knowledge of them. TBH, I don’t really care for Anthurium that much and I feel like they are just the trend of the moment.. sick of seeing them.. I kind of feel like people (the younger generation) are going overboard with all of the hybrids that look so alike.. they’re collecting all these small plants and i feel like it is a competition of who can collect the most at this point and I feel as though some are very snobby about it.. (I am 45.. just not into the immaturity of it all). I would love to see where they plan to put all of them once they’re mature lmao… Anyway, love your channel. It is yours, after all, and you should do what interests you.
hi Jessica, thank you for your honesty! I really appreciate you being real like that. I recognize the hybrid hoarding (which I may be guilty of to a degree too) going on with anthurium and it does beg the question of space constraints. I noticed the snobby attitudes (esp about lineages) too! I thought about mentioning it in a video but thought that was too controversial 😂 and it is my channel, but I make videos for you guys! I do have 3 new hoya coming in, so maybe that'll pique some more interest from the hoya peeps
I’m wondering with the mathilde. I bought one a few months ago. Is the splash also dependent on light and not just genetics? I’ve been experimenting with mine also, but it’s still too early to tell… will keep you posted :)
I've heard conflicting things about light and splash but generally I hear higher light brings out splash, but these props were getting blasted by light so who knows lol. yes, keep me posted!
Those Hoya leaves look massive. I am not really a fan of these types. The Hoya Meredithii. Hoya Latifolia etc. Definitely need a bigger space. I feel like there aren’t much Hoya content except your channel and Wildfern. Alot of Aroids and Tropical plant collector these days. Which I don’t like those plants. Weather here is constantly rain one week and sunny another keeps changing constantly which i hate. Don’t know what to wear.
hi Mandi, yes the downside of big leaves is the space! oh have you seen basie plants, betsy begonia, hakunalaplanta? Kevin is doing wax plant Wednesday! he has HUGE hoyas

Hey Ana!
I’ll buy you elephant props!!! 😅

You just feel free to send me any of your props you’re not using😊. Also. I so love all of your huge leaf Hoya
loool might have to take you up on that offer 😂 thank you!
