I feel like this gives you an interesting insight into Sophie's sound, because this is way before the hyperpop souns was a thing, but you can still tell that this is Sophie's production.
I know that some people will disagree but I think it’s more accurate if we consider her in the deconstructed club genre along with arca. I feel like her production isn’t “hyper pop”
i feel like it makes more sense to categorise every single production inidivudally. she really did everything from tech house to pop, to ambient to dancehall and beyond. deconstructed club i think is too structured of a label for arca and sophie as well. hyperpop at this point is like ppl just use it to basically mean "interesting sound design" imo like Vyzee for example has more in common with Cajmere Percolator than it does most hyperpop
I agree, this is so Sophie even though it doesn't have the classic Sophie metallic bubbly sounds that characterized her sound later, but it still feels so Sophie somehow😭 maybe it's the structures or chord progressions, melodies, idk, I'm not a musician 😭
