    All SST units get the latest software updates, teach-in performed and test driven in our test vehicle to assure quality at Jacks Transmissions. Our vehicle is designed to make transmission install and removal very quick so we can do this multiple times per day.
    This is the speed sensor trans from the previous video. If you ship your SST to us the same attention will be given to your unit as well.
    When you receive your SST from us it will be ready to go. Simply install in your vehicle and go. You don’t have to worry about doing the tricky teach-in or any of the TCM software updates. We got it all done for you! Combined with a real road test you can be confident your trans is perfection.

    Just stumbled on these videos while diving into the rabbit hole of the SST transmissions during debate of purchasing a high mileage Ralliart Sportback. Great content, and awesome that you guys keep these transmissions going and provide this service. Eases my mind a bit knowing that parts and service are obtainable, and that there's alot of content out there now showing what's involved if I ever ran into issues (which seems inevitable) and wanted to tackle on my own. I personally find it fascinating that you install each and every one in your test bed vehicle to prove them out before sending back to the customer! Nice job.

      Thanks! If you want to tackle a repair in the future on your own let us know. We do sell parts and try to help on the easier stuff if you need something simple (like a fork, valve body, etc). Or if you want the full build the way you wish the car should have been from the beginning, we can do that too. Our test car seems to keep going. It is cut up on the drivers side to slip an SST in and out quickly. The extra 30 minutes in labor, and the time to teach-in/drive it is worth it. Not only does it make the trans ready to go where the customer doesn't have to reprogram the TCM or do a teach-in, but it also verifies that everything is working as it should. Over the years, there have been parts that were not working correctly that we caught during the testing process. Saves a lot of time and headache in the long run for the customer knowing it's right.

      @@GVR1670 will do for sure! Funny enough, I actually did purchase a 2010 Ralliart Sportback with a bad SST, that had less miles along with several 'go fast' parts on it (Evo turbo and intercooler, etc)....as the price was cheaper and I figured that the SST going out in some way or form on a crazy high mileage car was inevitable anyways.
      It wouldn't move, codes pointed to the valve body / mechantronic being bad so I attempted to clean and rebuild it (after you guys advised me not to attempt it).....only to find out, well.....yeah, it didn't work. As you guys advised that it likely wouldn't :) There were also several other stupid mistakes that I made on it as well which may have contributed to this.
      BUT, I found another cheap (apparently working according to seller) valve body out of a wrecked car, swapped my mechatronic onto it, carefully bent the pins back on the solenoids that the PO damaged during removal and shipment of it to me....that, combined with new oil and filters done previously got the car moving! I was in disbelief when it rolled without throwing any codes. Did a teach-in and it seemed to drive OK.
      It's not perfect and still needs rebuild, as it has 137k on it and seems a bit delayed at times, but has allowed me to better qualify everything else that is wrong with the car (turbo oil leaks, neglected maintance items, etc). Which was what I wanted before dumping thousands of dollars into rebuilding it properly.
      AND, the best part - it has now started throwing the beloved P1875 'speed sensor' codes. So now, I know to add that as part of the laundry list for what needs done on the SST. Had I not been able to drive it, that wouldn't have been initially evident to me, as it wasn't throwing those when it wasn't moving!
      I'll at mininum be coming to you guys for more parts at some point (fork upgrade, speed sensor, seals, etc) if not rebuild services and refurbished valve body purchase :)

    Will definitely be your customer soon, just bought a 2013 MR Evo w/ the SST. As a used car, I want the transmission rebuilt right, because local mechanics at the dealerships only want you to buy a new transmission, saying that most parts are no longer available, you gotta buy the whole unit.

    • @GVR1670
      @GVR1670  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks we'd love to do the build for you and set it up the way you want! If you have a dealership that can't work on them (that's many of them) please tell them about us. We work with many dealerships and transmission shops through the US and Canada. Once they know we are here they continue to send us units, so they seem to like us. If they contact us, we can set things up so they can repair at their location (if it's something simple) or do something with us for a full build from exchange programs to quick turn-around of their original unit.

    My SST is weird. I have a 2014 Mitsubishi lancer raliart. Some times the transmission skips gears only 2 4 and 6 gear would work. I turn off the car. Then turn it back on then it works fine. Sometimes my Reverse would blink and not engage, then I'm driving normal and the transmission goes to 1 gear only fast and a light comes on and I scan it and it says shift fork 1 manufuction.

    • @GVR1670
      @GVR1670  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      There are many things that can cause this. All of which we can repair:
      * Worn shift fork pads
      * Backed out 1/R fork shaft bolt
      * Clutch issue
      * Valve body solenoid issue
      * Broken damper
      * Damaged clutch basket thrust surfaces
      Unfortunately, we won't know until it's torn down. The issue should be obvious then.

    Any suggestions on Getting to the transmission overflow drain level checking bolt rite below the axle I'm thinking about modifying a Long Allen key Do you suggest using that 1 filling up your sst transmission

    • @GVR1670
      @GVR1670  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      That’s not a level checking bolt or a fill hole. The fill hole is at the top next to the oil pan and the drains are all at the bottom of the case. Most have 2 drains but some have a 3rd drain at the bell housing area for the clutch.
      We always use the top fill hole and fill using 8 quarts.
      If you fill up to that plug on the side you’re referring to it will be overfilled.

    Do you rebuilt transmission
    I have a 2014 Mitsubishi Ralliart with 84K miles it shows the code for turbine sensor do you think it needs to be rebuilt?
    The reverse won’t work

      Yes I rebuild them. What codes are you getting? Speed sensor and no reverse are 2 different issues so it would probably be best to rebuild it and update it. Here is a link if you want to contact us directly:

    • @GVR1670
      @GVR1670  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@zman6288 Rattle at the trans can be many things. Unfortunately we won't know until it's apart. I would first verify that your engine is idling smoothly. Too low of an idle or a misfire will transfer more harmonic stress on the damper to make more noise. If the engine is idling smoothly with no odd behavior then it could possibly be that the trans needs a software update for a noisy damper if the car is older.
      If all of that is good then there could be a spring issue with the damper. You will not notice any driving behavior changes with a broken damper. More harmonics will reach the inside of the trans to wear parts out faster and the broken spring material can get caught in the oil pump drive gear to kill the pump. None of this will be felt. The trans will just fail at some point.
