- 4 Rings, 3 Pieces of GOLD and lots of Coins found metal detecting Huntington Beach, California. I used my Minelab Equinox 900 to metal detect the beach. I also select the winner of last week's "Would you dig it?" contest and I have another "Would you dig it?" giveaway for a $50 Amazon gift card.

Also, I learned something today...I've never seen sand crabs that big, and had no idea that a detector can detect them.
Yes, a normal person would be kicked off the beach. However they leave me alone as many of them know me for the work I do for them and the community.

Well another week and the 900 got me again. Let’s see a solid 31. Jim I’m going with a platinum ring. Another guess….. thanks for making my Thursday complete with a great video and another chance to make a guess. I’ll take a three piece gold day regardless to the k number. Woo Hoo.
Great hunt with three gold items to show. Here in Florida, we call those crabs sand fleas; they are fabulous for Cobia and Amber Jack at that size. I would dig that key.

Hey Jim, I’m gonna be in Santa Barbara on the 3rd of July, are there any crazy California metal detecting laws I need to be aware of and do I need to have permits to detect? Thank in advance for any help you can give.
No permits needed on the Beach, just enjoy all the fresh drops. Nice low tide really early avoid state beaches until after 5am.

So when u dig the sand crabs, does that mean they have metal in them??🦀🦀 Is that why they come up?? Lol..hmmm... Ive only dug up sand fleas at the Jersey shore beaches. Also seen the spider crabs at dusk which scared the beJesus out of me when i saw it!!!👻🦀
