Bouth bands are amazing but vektors performance its out of this world fucking astonishing the progressive touch in dead by dawn and the acceleration in the second part of the song really blaster......criptosis do the same work but doing it whith another epic symphony of artificial intelligence...in a dystopic distant future......!!!! Bouth bands rules....!!!
I remember seeing Vektor play at the Chameleon club in Lancaster, PA with Voivod. They ruled! Super tight band with great stage presence. Im glad to see the band is back and i like the ep. I also liked the old vocals but this rules too
I'm honestly not getting the hatred for the new voice. It's got the same energy, he's throwing in a little screaming to tease. I'm ok with it not being the focal point. He said he wouldn't be able to keep up that vocal abuse for long.
Activate sounds to me like Voivod despite the different vocals. First half of Dead by Dawn sounds almost like a regular rock ballad. I would still like to hear a full-length album - it is nice if they keep developing and experimenting - but one Dead by Dawn is enough for the whole album, if every other track sounds like it, I probably would not be that excited.
While being unique is important in music, I don't believe just those 2 things are specifically what made them unique/interesting.. Good music is good music, and it 100% sounds to me like they're still making that.
Wasn't really feeling Activate, but Dead By Dawn is such an awesome track! David's been taking vocal lessons or what? The clean singing is so much better now. But like the rest of you I do miss the old witchy screeching vocal style. These generic Thrash vocals are not for me..
The banshee howls are just not sustainable for David anymore. I think the new vocals are cool and the screams are still present, just a bit less often.
@@KevinUchihaOG He said it in a facebook post I believe. And it’s not ridiculous to come to that conclusion. He’s getting older and a vocal style like that doesn’t hold up well over time. They’re playing in E standard live now, probably to take some strain off of David’s vocals.
New Vektor is nowhere near the quality of their previous works, but that's still hardly an insult considering the perfection that was Terminal Redux. I know the band ran into a lot of problems with David being an asshole, but even setting that aside they kind of fucked themselves by making anything new after Terminal Redux.
I can’t imagine being given the insurmountable task of following up Terminal Redux, or as I would describe it one of the best if not the best thrash metal album of all time
Dani Filth said the same thing bout his vocals but it seems he's improved ever since saying that. They're both similar style vocal inhalation techniques aren't they?
what i didn't like is what i don't like in most recent releases, they all sound the same, like everything has the same production: guitars like coming straight from guitar pro, bass like hitting a pot and drums = double bass. I miss the sound of their previous albums, even the first, which was more low bugget, had a more authentic feeling.
I agree. I have a big problem with the production of this album. But that might just be this split, their next Album might sound better. Dave has a good ear for sound.
Honestly disappointed with Vektor's contribution, Activate is alright in my opinion (new bassist is pretty good imo) but Dead by Dawn absolutely underwhelmed me. Really hoping we see another track like Charging the Void or Accelerating Universe. Hey, I vibe with these Cryptosis tracks though, might listen to some more of them.
“Was really hoping to see a 15 minute prog thrash sci-fi epic on this split EP.” Yeah that’s probably why you were disappointed. Just enjoy the thrashers, idk why everyone is complaining. Kick ass songs.
David Disanto is the only one remaining from the original formation. The band is basically a new band with an old name, they just started playing together, they're gonna need time to adapt and be able to write masterpieces like charging the void. It took the original formation 14 years to be able to write charging the void and you expect a new one to do the same in a few months ? that's stupid as fuck
@@chateauprepus No. The lead guitarist, Erik Nelson is the same one as before. And the Vektor vision has changed a bit but still familiar. The new guys are just as if not more capable than the other guys, and these songs clearly show that. But it’s a split EP, and obviously they’re not gonna go full space thrash epic
i hope those john lenon/beatles vocal moments go away in the future of Vector..... dont get me wrong im all for experimentation ... but some things dont go together, for example organic life and the surface of the sun... same goes for Beatles and Vector.... (imho)

Vektor sounds sick. The style change fits perfectly. Vocals are perfect.
Son of Hetfield vocals on this. BEAUTY!!!
They are back!!! The new vocal style i s no problem for me, even better after a while...

Loved both bands, I think I'm gonna go check cryptosis' other work now.
Cryptosis é o antigo Distillator... excelente banda!! Saudações do Brasil!!!

I was wondering how long Vektors singer would be able to keep up that kinda singing
How can he sing old songs live?
I think he Is able to do It but Just dont want ti ruin too much Is voice
:C
It's definitely possibly to do those vocal healthily, you can hear him breaking into it hear and there
I heard him live yesterday... David still got it :D

Вектор- это немыслимо!
но на этом альбоме довольно средне по меркам группы

i dont hate it, but its definately not as good. it went from incredible to satisfactory.

Dead by Dawn reminds of Swin to the Moon by btbam
YES !
Vektor was more unique and interesting with the old vocals and f tuning
Agreed!

i agree but you gotta admit this is still fire!!
Amo Vektor, gracias por compartir el disco :3
Not a metal fan but this music is amazing.
Now you're a metal fan, welcome to the family
maybe old vocal style was unhealthy for him. but yeah i missed either
we need old vektor vocals back
is the same
@@GG-jv1xh they have the same vocalist, but he means the different style
I like them just as much as the old ones
Sounds more like early Snake now, which is not a complaint. The screeching eagle is still pretty bad ass though.

Am I the only one who hears the Macross influences in dead by dawn
Super Sick
Activate, sounds very similar to Damage Inc from Metallica (to me) 🤔
kick ass
Im a vektor fan but cryptosis songs are better in this EP
Maybe easier to listen to, but definitely not better.
NoFun
cryptosis are very good but it's super clear that they're trying to be vektor

Wow Vektor has become so generic, what a pity
Keep the faith! This happened to Trivium, too, and then they got it figured out again.
Generic how?
