12v center tap transformer only puts out 6v between ct and each end. (CT voltage is half the total voltage. )
So amp is only getting +/- 6v not +/- 15v
For +/- 15v you need 30v center tap transformer...

Instead of 40 watts speaker you must have use 25 watt so that load on IC will be less and it won't heat up much further output will be great
You can have 40w speaker on this. Only 14w is delivered. but larger speaker won't hurt.

Sound will not as good as this chip can deliver. Use a 5 amp transformer and at least 4700 uf capacitors in power supply.

Late reply that ground on schematic isnt ground its (COM) common of the circuit if youre new to electronics just build everything as shown on schematic it will work basically common ir ground is the (-) minus of supply voltage the circuit will work but it wont be 30 watts as advertised

No, I am not new to this jop ..
The circuit was designed as stated in the video, and the circuit did not operate on the battery.
The ground was replaced with the negative, and no sound was made.
But this case was analyzed by means of a new amendment to the circuit, but I do not know if this amendment was correct or not, but a voice was output from the speaker..
To use with batteries, need to create a virtual ground. Between 2 voltage divider resistors.
Or use two batteries, take ground off middle junction between batteries.
