I mean that is actually what it is
I think Michael disappearing at the end is a nice nod to most urban legends, how even though the story is "over" he is still out there.
Laurie crying knowing Micheal isn’t truly gone was incredible, Made her feel like a damn human being.

What gets me every time, no matter how many times I will watch this during halloween season, its exactly what you said that he is just a regular guy and that it creeps me the hell out that this could happen in real life at any moment. Goosebumps!

Something that never occurred to me until now is that, perhaps, Michael is wearing the sheet and the glasses to look like the ghost of the guy he just killed. (Yes, I know it’s Bob!)
Carpenter definitely didn’t invent or even blueprint the final girl chase scene. That title goes to Texas Chainsaw Massacre 1974. Half of Sally’s time on screen was a chase scene lol

Black Christmas came out before Halloween & I'd like to say that THAT movie started the domino effect

Sure, but Black Christmas was more of a who done it than a slasher, they literally blame the boyfriend (Peter), sure you got Billy but he isn't a typical slasher like Michael or Jason, None the less Black Christmas is a great horror film that deserves more respect
Halloween is my favorite holiday and the movie franchise is the cherry on top. I love all the movies and I'm very excited to see Halloween kills. Looking forward to seeing all your videos covering these amazing movies 🎃🔪

I hope you aren't gunna diss all the sequels as there are some great characters and moments in those.
Original H2 was and still is one of the great horror sequels and a great continuation from the first film, H4 was solid with the great Danielle Harris
who carried 4 and 5, 5 had some great visuals but a crap film, 6 was not much better with a laughable ending, H20 was a great ending for the series until Resurrection ruined a great conclusion, and H3 has become a cult classic.

Watched this for the first time back in 2018 when Halloween was coming out and absolutely loved it. The score was epic! Awesome classic horror movie

Fun fact: in Halloween (1978), Dr. Loomis shoots Michael 6 times before he falls off of the balcony. But in Halloween II (1981) he shoots Michael 7 times before he falls off the balcony. Even though he shoots him 7 times, he still exclaims "I shot him 6 times!" obviously someone screwed up the editing and added an extra gunshot lol.
actually he also shoots him 7 times in the 1978 version with a 6 round revolver lol the extra shot is when he shoots Michael to get him off strangling Laurie
Edit: meaning he would of had to had the sleight of hand call of duty perk snd fast reloaded a single bullet to “SHOOT HIM 6 TIMES”

I remember this classic since it was the first horror movie I watched. Looking it it now, it’s really tame compared to the more recent horror movies.

This movie had me messed up as a kid, I was always afraid to look at the window at night and see a figure just watching from the shadows.
Now tho, I can watch this movie on repeat. It's got all the John Carpenter mastery in it, Carpenter is one of great by far. Hell even Season of the Witch is one of my favorites.

honestly i think your right when you say that holloween 1 started the horror stereotype or how they run a female main carecters with female freinds that dont seem to be the populer kids then they get killed off then a chase scean startes but with the costumes a black hoodie and a weird mask but i think scream started that and also that clilds play started the thing of haveing a child or under 20 as the main carecter
I like that you never see his eyes. It makes me feel like he is not human and you can’t see any emotion or expression, not just because the mask covers his face but the mask casts a shadow over his eyes

I've been hearing "The shape stalks Alison" the last couple of years at halloween. I love the original Halloween and it is my third favourite of the franchise. Behind 2018 and 2007(yes some of us like that because that is how we grew up and not over the top at all)
