I've been handicapping races for 28 years and Javier Castellano is one of the greatest jockeys I've ever seen on dirt and is the greatest jockey America's ever had on the turf, congrats boss!
I was soooooooo excited for him!!! I get people were upset by everything that has happened leading up to this BUT ALSO BELIEVE MAYBE it was the perfect opening for some things to happen and Javier to FINALLY get HIS DAY!!!! I just am THRILLED for him and I agree with him that the size of a heart matters more BUT I've seen it with some of my own the ones who "appear" to be winners vs the ones who get the job done and I JUST THINK THIS WAS A SUPER MATCH UP!!! I like the little horse and I love the way Javier rides and then IMMEDIATELY gives glory to who got him there ultimately!! I pray MANY MORE for the 2 of them and like I said HE FOR SURE DESERVES IT!!!!! I know my mom's best friend who we lost to cancer I think 2 or so years ago was for sure some Angel wings. Royce loved Javier and I know he is smiling above!!! I hate he wasn't alive to see this race in person. And the love and excitement shown from Junior riding up at the end just so excited for his friend and competitor (knew no doubt how much this for sure meant to Javier) on this HUMONGOUS WIN JUST ICING ON THE CAKE!!! ❤❤❤❤❤THIS IS WHAT I LOVE!! I keep watching and tears every single time.
The way the jockey colony is behaving in New York you would think they won the Kentucky Derby, all kidding aside they are very proud and very happy for him he is loved by this colony
Don't forget who the jockey is, if you go and look at his body of work he's considered one of the greatest of all time, he owns the record for single-season money earned also has seven Travers wins no one in history can come close to that

What a great race by Mage and a great ride by Javier. I bet on Mage in an exacta box with Forte in the Florida Derby and the race he ran that day made me believe he was going to win the Kentucky Derby. I listened to many of the expert handicappers giving their analyses and most were not touting Mage. I felt that after the performance in Florida in only his 3rd lifetime start that he would be among the favorites in Kentucky. Yet, I heard the same refrain that he had no 2 year old foundational races, that he has only raced three times, that he is a small horse. I kept picturing him passing Forte after coming from last place and sweeping to the lead in the Florida Derby and that seemed to be a better foundational race for a run in Kentucky than any 2 year old race could be. When Forte was scratched the door was opened and he burst through. On to the Preakness and a possible date with history.

Well I handicapped Two Phils but this sneaky little magic horse came through and beat me but he not only beat me he win the race & NOW is the star Empire for the whole Venezuela crew and Nation.... good luck..buene suerte!!!!
By the way it's my own fault because it didn't rain, the track was dry, and Churchill Downs is a cupping out thing when it's dry! And little horses always do better on it than big horses.... the only time of year when that track is fast is at Derby time!!! They roll it, pack it, usually put water down on it but I guess they thought it was going to rain too but they don't dare do that in the fall cuz if it freezes they'd have nothing but dirt crystals and balls I seen that happened one fall at Hawthorne and they brought in more dirt to put on the track with dump trucks only thing was it came out in chunks the poor horses in the first race 1pm were there till 3pm before they called the races off!!!!
