Wow this race just set up for the deep closers sun thunder and disarm looks like an exacta box to me! It has been fun following graded stakes with you this past year thank you!
Practical Move has the best post for his running style. The inside, Verifying and Confidence Game will have to go fast early to avoid getting cut off. Kingbarns and Reincarnate will probably try to sit right behind the inside 2, or if one of them breaks alertly, they might just try to make the lead. Tapit Trice will have to hustle but #5 is surely better than #20. He should be ok from there. I just see it tough for Angel of Empire and Forte to get a good early position and it will be tough for either to win. Not sure who I am picking at the moment, I gotta see track probable condition and if anyone is scratched.
I love Dermas post 17 ,he should get an easy break and be able to go right to the front , If he sets easy fractions its his race to lose.
wow, I totally disagree with you on Verifying. He has the inside all to himself and has plenty of speed to sit just off the early pace. He was right up front in the Blue Grass and TT only beat him with a dream trip.....barely.
I feel the same way. I feel like I usually agree with mike’s opinions and surprised he’s taking the opposite opinion of me.
Verifying is a toss for me, he will have to work hard early instead of rating. I had distance concerns with him before the draw. Confidence game is my longshot.
Cox has a big shot with no "real" baffert. Going to spend my time on race before and after derby. If strong opinion can have great p3 p4 p5 with multiple derby horses
I like Verifying but TT could have passed him at anytime and certainly did not have a dream trip.

If confidence game can avoid traffic trouble this horse is going to be coming down the stretch like a freight train and I believe he's going to be the one to win the Kentucky Derby on Saturday

Looks like a great race. Yes I heard of Forte but there's no money there. I feel it's going to be a horse nobody expects to win. 2019 I got a good price on country house,
Dont underestimate bafferts#7 or yahagi horse #20. It's always hard to pick a horse to win this race, that being said number 10 and 15

was really hoping Derma Sotogake would get a good post but that's pretty far out there. probably takes him out of it. i think the winner comes between Tapit Trice in the 5 post and Forte in the 15
He did get a good post ,has no speed near him.He s fine and this gate makes it certain tht he will go right to the lead. The whole post position % bs went out the window when they changed the gates twice .
Let's hope the horses get to actually run without all the jockeys strangling them back off the pace. Baffert dominates because he let's his horses run and use their speed while everyone else takes back. All the riders are now timid and passive. Nobody wants to go to the lead

Rarely does a horse win the KD if not raced as 2 year old. Inexperience for Kingsbarn plus 19 other horses might spook him.....
if anybody knows #17 on the saddle has not won. but there has been scratches etc where horse leave in gate 17 that are not numbered 17, any winners from that actual post?
Derma will finally end alot of records ,first Japan horse , first winner from 17 and a few other ones. This horse is gonna be a superstar , I can t wait to see him win a dubia world cup in the future.... 17 with all . all with 17 , tri 17/15 all ect will use forte and skinner in other bets good luck to everyone betting.

Love TT but he breaks lousy. Outside horses gunning it for rail will shuffle him back. He's a big horse and not very handy so if he gets boxed in traffic will be hard for him.
This year The Curse of Seventeen turns it's poison gaze on Derma Sotogate. Traveling all the way from Japan to face the most dreaded post in Derby history. Good luck !

I think he got a great post , he has the best early speed and tactical speed ,I see him running a race like big brown .This horse is used to big fields and he ll have no trouble with the post..

Not too many black jocks. Kendrick Carmouche is one that comes to mind.
Maybe not in this day and age because of size and weight concerns but they were very prominent back in the day. You might be quite surprised if you study up on the history of horse racing and the Kentucky Derby in particular..
