  • The Denon DR-M24HX is a pretty good machine and worth buying for reasonable amount of money, which I would put at around 100 euro mark. The mechanism is relatively easy to service, only 2 belts for the capstans. Pots, motors and switches are easy to open for service, no 4066 cmos which is important to some people

    I have DR-M27HX more similar to this. The fluorescent display is defective and if anyone have plaease email me.

      To be honest I never use dolby on any machine I have

      @@muldrake Try to use a less noisy tape and drive is hot as you can. There will be more signal and less audible noise. MPX is to filter out the pilot signal if you record from FM radio and using dolby.

    Just got one today.Customer was throwing it out..Still in original box and sounds good thru earphones on testing.

      Good one! This is a pretty good machine, I always liked it. Not the prettiest design, nor has countless features, but has solid mechanism and good sound

      @@Juliuswwss Cleaned it up today and attached it to an old Pioneer stereo and some old Yamaha NS 044 bookshelf speakers that the same person was throwing out.They cleaned up nicely too.It all sounded great.I like the old tech stuff.
