I would suggest using FBI or DOJ crime stats over one of the sources you’ve mentioned below. While they aren’t entirely accurate for reasons like the ones I mentioned in my reply to another commenter, they are a better source than a 3rd party that appears to also be out of date. Please also note that arrests and convictions have a lot to do with economic status and race. Given similar evidence, a person is more likely to be convicted if they are poor or a person of color. These rates also don’t consider false arrests in their calculations. I think including air quality and other pollution stats might also be helpful. I’m much more worried about the effects of pollution in WVC than being the victim of a crime. I’m glad to see Gardner mentioned, though! A lot of my colleagues work there. It skews a little conservative, but that’s what you get in Utah.
