Top 5 Neighborhoods In West Seattle | Best Seattle Neighborhoods

I’m rather partial to West Seattle because I have lived here for so long!
West Seattle is the iconic jut of land just to the South West of Downtown Seattle, giving superb views of the city landscape of Seattle across Elliott Bay and to the West, sunset views of the towering Olympic Mountains with the Puget Sound in the foreground.
For those of us who live here, WS is Seattles best kept secret: Neighborhoods with friendly small town feel and great walkability, yet only 10 minutes from downtown Seattle and easy access to I-5 or I-90 (quick access to the Eastside, SEATAC Airport or the Cascade Mountains for some outdoor fun).
Known for it's destination locations like Alki Beach, Fauntleroy Park and the shopping, restaurants and community activities of the "Junctions" that run along California Ave SW (Alaska, Admiral and Morgan Junctions).
Lots of history here! West Seattle is where the original Denny party landed on Alki before deciding that the unprotected shoreline was too inhospitable and moving across Elliott bay to establish Seattle where the Down Town Seattle waterfront and piers are.

Oh man, you are totally right! I love camp Long. Great for a little nature walk through the woods. I never have rented one of their cabins but I hear that can be fun. And Schurman Rock at Camp Long is great too, first artificial climbing wall ever built in North America if I recall (1938).

I totally forgot to mention Arbor Heights neighborhood in West Seattle in my video. It's such a great little sleepy neighborhood on the South end of WS, starting just South of the Fauntleroy Ferry Terminal, where End O' Lyne Joes (one of the best brunches in WS IMO) and Wildwood Market are tucked between the Puget Sound and White Center. Quiet neighborhood with some really nice houses along the water and much more affordable homes inland. Arbor Heights Pool is a hidden gem in this neighborhood as well. Better sign up on their waiting list years ahead of time... or make friends with a member and go as their guest!

This video was posted 10 days ago, but staples in Westwood has been closed down for a long while now. Never thought I’d see someone talk about west Seattle as if they lived there, but not know about west Seattle. Bakery nouveau? That bakery was popular 10-15 years ago, but it’s a background shop now. People know it’s there, but it’s not popular. Next I thought you were going to talk about Godfather’s pizza and skippers as good family restaurants in west Seattle. This guy is out of touch on what people do here.

You are right, I have not been to Staples for a while, so I missed that it’s closed now. But even as a West Seattleite, I do still love Bakery Nouveau.
