That is bizarre that they decided to construct it that way... hadn’t notice that before. I wonder why they chose screw on pommel retention instead of rivets, which seems easier and more accurate.
@@Boggsy. Probably thought it was more aesthetically pleasing, which i agree in that case. Although messers dont always need rivets, if its sandwiched grip and a long knife type blade with a nagel. Its a messer
@@chroma6947 Oh, fair enough. Though it doesn’t have a sandwiched grip, by appearances- it looks like a fully hidden tang on every model I’ve seen. I make no claims as to whether it’s technically a Messer, though... they were going for that, so yeah, small inaccuracies are cool with me at that price. Just thought it a funny choice, because you’d think the sandwich construction would be simpler; but maybe not in a large production operation. Or maybe it’s for ease of disassembly.
Cuts water bottles well enough, but this thing broke on me after hitting some cheap 1/4 inch particle board only once. I'm surprised his blade survived this test.
@@ExplosiveFetus It broke right at the start of the tang; Im of the opinion that the tang was too small for the blade (though I have no measurements to support my opinion). I must mention, however, that I bent the nagel a few degrees upwards to accommodate my knuckles, so that may have contributed to the tang's failure.
Yeah a guy used this on the History channel show Forged in Fire: Knife or Death. It was a cutting competetion and the blade bent chopping into an ice cube.
This one is actually Cold Steel's "Messer". The "Grosse Messer" is the two handed type we made a video about previously, available here kultofathena.com/product.asp?item=CS88GMS. But you get the point. ;-)
I think because of the construction that means it’s technically not a messer
I second that point. A falchion would be single edged but considerd a sword.

Hi, is this sword good enough to use as sword for FMA or Kali practitioner? The shape seems similar to Filipino's sword Talibong.
Is there a version available for lefties?
Wonder if they sell these used items as reduced or just keep them themselves.
Yeah, the one I bought from KoA is great- except for the warped blade.
And also, what's the link to this on the site?

In which way did it break?

Captain Harlock because blades are designed to chop into ice
You need a sharpening service brah
