@Gonamez Amen. You are so right. It doesn't have to be just fasting from food, it can be from anything that you really want to do. My church is collectivly doing a 28 day fast now and we've all chosen things to fast from.Some from food, others watching tv, some internet, others hobbies. Really, no matter what you chose to fast from, so long as you mean the sacrifice of time you're giving, its a really invigorating exprience
lol so so true fasting is not about ruels and regulations but rather about sacrificeing for God to spend time with him and when we hert and hunger it reminds us of the hunger for God that should be in our life so that we will strive to be with God more

@tctoipa, yes, agreed! It is something God has given us to do if we choose to! But we have to quit doing everything to fast, not just stop eating. I have never fasted but that's not to say I never will or that I don't grieve over my sins because I do!
I am going to fast starting tomorrow. I'm also gonna give up my phone. I plan on doing it for just a day at first and gradually start doing longer fasts.

(except for Jesus) Challenge yourself to do something else instead for a time, day, week, whatever.- Point is that you eventually start feeling less dominated by this/these thing(s), yeah? It's only a matter of time, it's like working out- eventually you start growing if you do it right! Bless

+ItsGabyTime ! I would try fasting something other than food in your case. Maybe try social media, internet, video, games, etc. Might help with the distraction too.

I have never once done fasting unless it was something that made me so upset that I couldn't eat or do anything else but pray anyway. If you fast that's between you and God. Don't show your fasting to others. I don't feel that I have to do anything for God to hear my prayers and answer them. I'm only a human. I grieve over my sins and He knows my heart. I don't have to give God a demonstration. JUST ASK AND BELIEVE!
Hello! Have you considered - fast abs magic (google it)? Ive heard some amazing things about it and my mate got really defined 6 pack abs and lost lots of weight with it.

I suggest people turn these guys off and go read the words that Christ personally spoke on the subject. It's a simple word search through the red letters in your bible program. Remember, it is The Holy Spirit who should be teaching you all things.

I fasted for my first time this previous week from technology. It was hard, it was boring, but it was rewarding
