THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS VIDEO!!! After days of researching and one attempt i came back to this video and realized what i was missing. I didnt pay this vid much attention bc of all the camera movement, but i wish i had, I couldn't find ANY other p0843 specific to the '09 civic. I wasted time. But all said and done, ITS DONE! Im a single mom and know very lil abt cars and was so happy i could get this done on my own.
Thanks for being the only video of the 2009 civic 2nd clutch sensor. 28600-RPC-004 is the honda part number for the 2nd sensor, the crush washer is needed to its 90471-PW7-A00. These are available for about $25 for bootlegs on ebay, or you can get genuine Honda parts online for about $60 plus $10 or more for shipping. Or you can get gouged by the local Honda dealer for over one hundred bucks for this simple aluminum sensor and washer. Washer is over 5 bucks for a crush washer, worth about ten cents. Imagine if they sold the cars for a reasonable price? Probably be $9000. LOL. The bottom part of the air filter housing will make you curse, it was poorly engineered. Hey, the good engineer was in charge of the oil filter on this civic, he did good! Unfortunately a guy named Som Ting Wong designed the air box, and he probably works on the Ford auto design now. If you tilt it just right and bobble it, you might get it out, and you might also pierce your brake fluid reservoir! Hey fun! You will never get a socket over this thing, LOL to anyone that can do that from the hood. just get a 22 mm open end wrench and it needs to be about 7 inches long or it will be difficult to use. The sensor is supposed to be torqued to 20 newton meters or 14 foot pounds. That is pretty light, give it a good grunt or two and it will snap in half and you will lie to whomever you bought it from about it was defective. Now hopefully you already found the video about putting two screws into the visor that falls down. And by now your window rubbers along the door at the bottom are all disintegrated. Buy a set of all 4 for only $35 on ebay, and watch a youtube video to see the tool that easily removes the old ones. Or just use a metal screwdriver and wreck the paint on the door, you screwed up everything else in your life, why not tear up your mom's car? And change that cabin air filter behind the glove box, it's filthy! Where do you live anyhow, New Jersey?
Hopefully you’re active on this lol, is the 2nd clutch pressure switch more accessible from underneath removing the splash guard? Or is it only accessible taking off the airbox
Hi. I have a 2008 Honda Civic and am trying to replace the 2nd clutch as well. BUT I cannot get the bottom part of the air filter box/housing off because there is a rivet with a rubber washing holding it attached even after I took out the other two bolts securing it. Did you have the same issue on the 2009? If so, how did you get it out? Thanks
If it wasn't for this video, I wouldn't have been able to find the sensor in my 2009 Honda Civic. it was very much hidden out of plain sight. Also luckily for me I was able to unscrew it with just a pair of combination pliers.
Combinations pliers are my favorite, they combine turning with rounding, and leave enough marks to make it look like a beaver thought the sensor had food inside it.
Is it automatic civic or i-shift? (I'm trying to find this 2nd clutch in my 2008 i-shift, it's so hard to find that I started to doubt if this part exist in i-shift)
Yes feel free to watch the one that doesn't tell what kind of Honda it is, and it's completely different location, but it's a smooth video and afterward you can take the Civic to the dealer. $250.

If u have a hoist, u can also replace valve from beneath the car. Nothing to remove above..very easy.
Is that 3rd Clutch and 2nd clutch are same switch?

That just pulls up it’s not a rivet
Please give me serial number of sensor for code p0843 honda civic 2009
Usually the 3rd clutch sensor goes out about the same time. Change the 2nd and the 3rd. Or think about me later.
