Really like how they gave full size electronics and driveline components. The small scale trucks are amazing but the small driveline parts are usually the only problem.

Perfect timing for Christmas. I recently entered the hobby with an X-Maxx and have been looking to get a "mini-me" for my 3.5 yo. The Maxx was just a little too much uumph for him but this will be perfect!
There will be one under the Xmas tree for my 5 year old for sure. was going to get him a stampede bl2s but this fits the bill even better. as long as its not super tiny in person.

My 2wd BL2s stampede and rustler have those type of clip on bodies and I really dig them. The fact they give you a 2s Lipo with the car at $250 seems pretty fair at that price. I can vouch for the durability of the BL2s platform. 😂 They’re pretty strong. What I also love about the BL2s systems at least on my models, is that the motors and ESC’s never get hot, ever. I go balls out blasting around my yard until the battery hits LVCO. And the motor and ESC are never more than barely even warm. Same with my 4wd slash BL2s. Sure they only go 25-30mph at best. But that’s ok for what I like to do. Every RC doesn’t have to be 4wd and go 50 mph to be a lot of fun. And I heard you say at the show you saw the color orange on this new truck? I sure hope so! My two fav colors on these RC cars are orange and pink. I’m definitely grabbing one of these when they hit my LHS.
Yes, I was hoping the leaks were true! Just like the Xmaxxx though, no roof skid. I'm sure that'll be an accessory, maybe it will get added to the final product.

Oh great, at least they made the servo easy to access when it fails after a few runs and it needs to be replaced😡 Sorry, but I’ve been burned three times now by the XMAXX servo going three times on our two XMAXX’s after about 6 runs on turf soccer and football fields. No abuse whatsoever

When I quit racing I took two 1/10 4wd buggies and shortened the chassis by 50mm and 40mm - 235mm wb for one and 240mm wb for the other (different starting platforms) If the local track puts together a class of these maybe i'll snag a body and try to sneak in for a heat xD

Once you upgrade motor, esc, servo, transmitter, tires, shocks, install center diff, get wide kit and upgrade the clown body, should only be about $700 for decent mini. That's assuming the diffs can handle 3s which based on their other stuff is questionable.
i explain it for you hater: Sell the 2s Combo, Charger, Lipo, Transmitter/Reciever, Servo. You will get 120 bucks. With that you buy a hobbywing 3s combo, 3s Lipo and a servo. Then you buy a DDF350 Transmitter, Center Diff and Spare Aftermarket Monstertruck Body for 150 bucks. So you are down total around 400-500 bucks.
Stuff I don't like : slipper clutch, it's probably harder to work on than my Stampede V2 VXL, those dumb hinge pins that screw themselves off after a few runs, and I think that's it. I have my Stampede dialed in after installing the GTR shocks and it's very durable indeed, so I don't really have a need for the mini Maxx. When I had the Maxx V2, it was a PITA to replaced broken bulkheads. I've never broken one in my much lighter Stampede 4x4 V2 VXL.
The question is will it do a wheelie because I noticed there's no wheelie bar there's also no roll bar on that truck hopefully the body is durable and can hold up to the extreme bashing other than that looks pretty set up I love Traxxas vehicles so I guess I'm going to have to get this one too LOL
Shock towers integrated into the chassis? Hard pass. Imagine having to replace the chassis because the shock retainer rips through the hole in the tower? Bad idea.
The fact they don’t give you roof skids is shameful. I bought an xmaxx ultimate and still had to buy a roof skid. Is a joke. Still ordered one of these. Junk traxxas servo as usual
I just preordered my mini maxx from my LHS and the Traxxas rep was there and he had the new jato. I got to drive it and it drove like a tekno buggy. It is coming in a 2s and 4s version from what the guys said.
just a new version of erevo 1/16. not interested, but great first vehicle. funny to watch the grom get kicked around however. There's a lot of ways the cheaper Chinese RC are encroaching. if i needed a 1/16 brushless I'm just buying one of those. However if my whole RC life revolved around 16th scale I'd go with this for sure. At this point just another way to spend so pass but its cool!

There is NO slipper clutch! Direct Drive or Center Diff (Upgrade Option).

Wheelie bar and roof skid are options. I think it will wheelie. The one I drove was a prototype so I took it easy.
