I think that because Magic Mountain's Fright Fest is directly competing with Knott's Scary Farm and Halloween Horror Nights that they really have stepped their game up with the scare zones and mazes.
So Tatsu is like that one super nice, fun friend who all of a sudden tries to kill you in MarioKart and then goes back to just being sweet and fun like nothing ever happened.
"The ride (Viper) is smooth".......... I couldn't breath and thought I cracked something in my collar bone when I got off....... Glad someone enjoys it 😆
Awesome video! I was at Freight Fest Halloween weekend last year. They have this event at night where they have all the scare actors meet near the DC Universe sign, and then they are all released into the park! It's so sick watching all of them walk towards their destinations, such as the actors on stilts. They have some really cool scare zones with all of the fog. They go all out at Magic Mountain, it's definitely worth checking out. The operations... yes it's so true. I was at Hurricane Harbor this past summer and the line for food at the main food place was one of the longest lines I've ever waited for in my life! Ugh! Such a drag! Magic Mountain needs to staff up and pay their workers more. One of the best parks for operations outside of Disney and Universal is Kings Island. They're running 3 or 2 trains all day and their staff is super fast. You go to Magic Mountain and it's usually pretty slow operations. And you're lucky if they're running 2 trains. I've never seen three trains outside of Twisted Colossus running on any ride. Like is there a reason why the employees are just standing around sometimes? Like what this Coaster Studios group said at Tatsu... what was going on with the operations that that gates didn't open until the other train came in? If there's a good reason I'm all ears, otherwise that's just unacceptable. When I went to Magic Mountain this past summer I was at Tatsu and the train came in and was stuck in the station for about 30 minutes. The poor people on the ride had to lay there face down that whole time while the maintenance crew came! They had two trains running so for the other train they were able to send it to the other track on the other side and unload the people there. Magic Mountain has the most coasters in the world (20 as of this post) but there's usually a lot of downtime, such as in this video when the guy was talking about being stuck on Ninja. Some of these rides at Magic Mountain are just plain old. Batman, Riddler's Revenge, Ninja, and Viper all come to mind. I think a great idea would be to convert Ninja into a Axis coaster that Coaster Studios has ridden (they rode the prototype in a video). That coaster would be a great place for an Axis coaster conversion. It's got the perfect layout. Anyways, great video! Keep posting more content!
I think Wonder Woman really was designed for Magic Mountain first, and they just built it at Great Adventure because of the state California was in with the pandemic. It fits perfectly in that plot of land, runs better, it just makes sense to me.
it’s a shame Superman doesn’t have the original trains now that it’s running forwards. you had so much freedom with just a lap bar restraint, and the sides of the train were completely exposed. the airtime and sensation of weightlessness was unreal. last time I visited SFMM was last year during Fright Fest. there was absolutely no one at the park until night time, and it was insanely hot so all of the coasters were hauling and running at peak performance. I got the best rides I’ve ever gotten on most of the coasters there. Tatsu at night with no lights was one of the craziest experiences on a coaster I’ve ever had, it was absolutely amazing. really awesome seeing you guys come to the west coast! I live in Vegas but I consider SFMM, Disneyland, and Knott’s my homeparks. I grew up in California and it’s only a 4 hour drive to the Los Angeles area from Vegas.
that problem with the operations on your last ride on Tatsu is the exact reason why I always avoid Galactica at Alton Towers here in the UK! you're sat on the brake run hanging there for a good few minutes at a time and it's horrible! Halloween event looks amazing! deffo one to check out!
There’s a lot of roller coaster history at Six Flags Magic Mountain, Revolution was the first modern roller coaster with a vertical loop back in 1976, Superman was the first to go 100 mph with a 400 ft. tall structure, Colossus was the biggest wooden roller coaster, and Viper is the best Arrow mega looper ever made. I rode Viper after it opened back in 1991 and at the time I thought it was the greatest roller coaster ever with its 7 inversions, unique layout, and being almost 200 ft. tall (Batman The Ride was also awesome when I rode it in 1994) A few years later when I was on the East coast I almost got to ride Drachen Fire in Williamsburg and Great American Scream Machine at Six Flags Great Adventure, but now looking back in hindsight I was lucky that I avoided those other two extremely rough Arrow mega loopers.
Magic Mountain has always had problems with the lines. Even when it's dead I use my flash pass just because they usually only run one car and the loading times are long. The park gets by with the thrill rides but it needs a major face-lift and better flow and more staff.
Fun fact about superman, my friend and I rode it when they had it going backwards and forwards in the same day, after we did both sides it broke down and backwards has yet to open back up
Sarah what the Hell? I loved Great American Scream Machine and loved Viper. Went on it Viper in the rain and the rain felt more stiff than the coaster itself.
Taylor have you ridden Jersey Devil recently? It is way more intense than it was when it opened. The last hills are super ejector now and the whole ride is paced much faster.
I have recently and I'm telling you WWFOC is better not by a lot but it's better. JD is much better now but WW is just better in every aspect. Taylor is on point with what he's saying, and the front like what Sarah said you do get so much stronger ejected airtime. If you ride the back that first drop is no joke. You need to come down and ride it for yourself. What I did noticed is that JD is not as shaky WW is a little but that will go away with time.
@@beastingcoasters5983 I just rode Jersey devil a few months ago and Im heading to magic mountain in a couple weeks so I will def see! I rode devil like 50 times probably, all 3 days I went to great adventure it was dead and I just kept reriding lol
waiting for an hour for west coast racers is normal. They only have one train at a time. Similar experience for x2. They only have 1-2 trains at a time too
Apocalypse might be my favorite night ride during fright fest. Usually fog effects in the area and it feels like it flies at night. Oh and not only is Green Lantern on the map, NEITHER WCR nor Wonder Woman are on the app map!!! Like, what!?!?!? Do they even care they have 2 new coasters that should be on the map?
Dude it’s amazing how much better that ride runs at night. My best ride ever on it was holiday in the park about 7:30pm, i came off in absolute shock at how good it was running compared to the other times i’ve ridden it
The Wonder Women at MM is slightly taller I believe by a foot or 2 than the clone in Jersey. So you are going to go maybe 2-5 mph faster. Give or take.
Fright fest wow sounds like it s going to be spooky haha 🤣 a friend of mine was telling me about fright fest and i said wow that is awesome 👍 but anyway he is looking forward to go with somebody that is going and some one that he knows.
Hi coaster studios, I love your guy's content. I've been watching for a while now and I've been watching every video since ❤️ Thanks for making my year better
I still don't see how people think pretzel loops (specifically this one) are intense. It has an odd feel to it because you don't normally dive and keep rotating like that, but I wouldn't consider it even kinda close to the most intense part of any coaster. Great video, keep up the content!
@@mrbiblyboo4034 that’s what everyone says but for me I don’t come close to greying out there but I do in tons of other coasters/elements. This one just isn’t intense to me
@@devdevthrills probably because your laying on your back, the forces are spread out more evenly throughout your body so the blood isn’t rushing down, but you still feel the massive amounts of positive Gs, if it wasn’t a flying coaster you would 100 percent grey/black out
for me it’s the most intense (and best) element in the park! but yea it’s not that normal positive g feeling, which i actually don’t usually like anyway. it’s a different type of being crushed haha
Yea, the worst part of our 4 days there this year was the food lines and the mobile ordering not working…. Especially Food etc. 4 people working and super long lines… just shouldn’t happen on busy days.
Dang as my next video I’m working on is about my Magic Mountain visit on Sept. 9th. It was very hot during the day but during the evening, it was gay night and was light-rain throughout, which meant X2, WW and Tatsuuuuuuuuwah were on steroids😊
I visited the park that same weekend for the first time. They have a lot of 8/10 and 9/10 rides, but no 10/10s... Also, I saw you that Sunday in the X2 line. the logistics there are not very good
I wonder if the makeup is really good because the park is required to pay equity in California? Maybe competition from two of the best events in the country pushes the park to do better for Halloween as well.
It has nothing to do with speed, it has to do with timing and scheduling. This video was filmed at the beginning of a 12 day trip to Cali when we were at a park every single day. Immediately after coming back, we left for Scandinavia. This video was edited while in Norway. I would say thats pretty good, considering we easily could've waited till after our trip was over.

Always fun to see fellow coaster youtubers run into each other!
Would have been awesome if Chris's daughter gave Taylor the snub.
Revolution was also in the suspense/thriller movie roller coaster.
I frequently visit Magic Mountain and what Sarah said about operations, is in fact true.

That is the PERFECT description!
Going to SFMM for the first time this Friday and I’ve been mentally preparing myself to experience this😂😂
Sad riddlers was closed. I've loved it since day 1. It's a stand up that will never go away
Riddlers is the best non invert or flyer B&M in California
The woman who was crawling that spooked y’all is almost an icon of sorts for the park. She’s there every year!
Is a shame that This Is How We Roll still isn't on Spotify. Would love to have it in my playlist as it is an awesome song.

Viper gave me such a headache last time I rode it. Made me sad because it was the first coaster I was afraid to ride way back in 1991.

Seems weird that Six Flags would build a smaller and shorter ride after the fact tho. I think they were supposed to open at the same time.
It was west coast racers not being finished
