So awesome to see where this car is, from where we pulled it out of, to now back on the open road where she belongs. AMAZING job guys!
Legends!
Definitely an awesome save!
So glad the LS is running. I'm happy it was nothing serious. I so wish I could be young and dumb and full of fun again.
And we want to thank those fine people that are taking care of our kids thank you so much
Hillbilly looks right at home driving the '57 - arm on the door - very cool. Well done everyone
Even in all her rust, she's still a beauty! Great job, guys! This 57 deserves a full body restoration! What do you say, Robby? What's the Boss think? Til next time, take care, and we'll see you on the next...
I agree the car needs a full restoration
"Absolutely & watching that restoration is going to be awesome!"
Yeah beautiful 57 Chevy!
Golden Nugget level.
Candy apple red!
I dig this car like you cannot believe!
It runs too well to look so bad. Please do a full restoration. She deserves it.
No such thing as a bad looking 57 Chevy 😊
We can rebuild it, we have the techeknow🎯👽
Justin’s enthusiasm on this build really made the series, he’s a great ambassador for Summit 😎
Whew! I just finished my second cup of morning coffee. I was going to have a third cup but after watching the Layton crew I think I'm all zipped up for the rest of the day!
Last day of shop class, did we learn anything new?what a venture.even I new it was the discombonulator switch it was low on blinker fluid and muffler bearing's. I'm taken my next class in week or two. Drive safe kids and I couldn't of done that work in a month.
Absolutely the most fun for Viewers and great adventure Robbie, Hillbilly and the Queen of Layton Automotive.
Thanks to Summit Racing and everyone who made it possible 💥
Happy trails and Positive Energy Always ⚡⚡🕊️🙏
This was an awesome mini-series! It's amazing how quickly a car can be done with enough parts. The old girl would probably be getting closer to 20mpg if you guys put in a modern transmission with over-drive and a TCC. I was really surprised you didn't go with a 4L80E or keep it manual. Congrats on all your hard work paying off!!!
Can't believe you were in my backyard! You drove right by my house on your way to Louisville. Where you stopped to get gas off Buttermilk Pike is about 5 miles from me. So cool that monster is on the road. Nice work and great collaboration!!
Literally just watched the last episode 20 minutes ago i was ready for this one!
Since I have the attention span of a gnat, I appreciate a vid like this that is under 20 min. Tks. Good vid. Awesome car. Looking forward to the restoration.
Car did great. Can't wait to see it after the body work is done
Love the energy with you guys always positive and fun
😱 when that engine throttled up. Wish I was there to hear it 🤘🤘
That Has Guzzler will be a beast driving back to Utah!
This was the exciting video. You all worked so hard at getting that fifty-seven going. Great job to everybody!
You guys are having too much fun. Congrats on the build.
Paul Cox had one of those radiator hoses on his Yota and it was J.U.N.K. !! But nice job and inspiring for others to do 👏👏👏
The sound of it, actually makes it look more like a hotrod, than a rust bucket. 😂
I am smiling ear to ear! Thanks!😊
I can't wait to see the 57 completed as they are a thing of beauty no matter there condition 😁
I think Paul Cox just had a problem with that same upper radiator hose. Dunno if it's the same brand, but same style.
FYI Paul kicked that metal rad line to the circle bin. Doesn’t hold up looks pretty but lower need a reinforcement spring and upper needs to be solid rubber 😉
What yall need on the 57 to do rowdy burnouts is a line lock. I have line lock on my daily driver 72 charger and it is so nice for burnouts
I absolutely LOVE the excitement!
1:30 I was right on why it did not start, the wire harness plugs were wrong (Red in front on passenger side and purple in front on driver side), as in they plugged them in the wrong orientation from front to back or back to front how ever you want to look at it. You can flip the whole brackets and coils from side to side if the wire plugs are in the correct order. If both sides are wrong, it will still not work flipping them around. I always look at the stock OEM coil plug when I use an after market harness, passenger side front to back is Red, Green, Blue and Purple.
❤❤❤hot stuff; sure wish I had kept my moms 57 Chev, but I was only 12 :)
l used to have a synthetic putting green company in the 90s. l cut some nylon short rubber backed putting turf into car mats and 25 years later they'll still there. Very comfortable. What you have is poly propylene chipping turf. lt should have a heat sheild/sound dampener beneath it. Love the channel.
Great wheel and tire choice. Looks great! Hillybilly learned why driving a car with a stall and stiff throttle spring can be interesting, especially in the rain.
This video put the biggest smile on my face. Love you guys. Seems like you guys are rubbing off on Justin too, lots of joy and enthusiasm in his presenting style. Love it.
Hapo basi! was waiting for this moment
Never a doubt in my mind with this crew !
This is excellent! Y’all are getting pretty comfortable going on the road to find a beast to bring home!
YES! An old fashioned road trip in a nostalgic car. Nice work getting the power plant into a classic.
Love this build! Looking forward to the final part of the project. Being from North East Ohio and a frequent patron of Summit, made this series of videos even more special. Rust is a common problem here in the Rust Belt but love the new astroturf to make the car a little more comfy on the ride back to Utah!
G,day Y'all from Sydney Australia.
Great work on the 57.
🌏🇭🇲
Robby When the engine fired for the first time I loved your excitement and comment? Love your Channel!
This collab has been great. Justin's enthusiasm is incredible; he's such a geek for car mechanics haha.
The Guys: We took it too the best muffler shop in town. They are so good it only took 45 minutes, and they did such a perfect job; just what this 57 Chevy needs!
The Boss: They couldn't get it to work, so we brought it to a muffler shop.
:D
Love in that LS
What a project...full restoration should be done...great engine and running gear...Summit Racing is awesome...Justine is enthusiastic in what he does.
Lots of fun! Thanks to all the folks at Summit for their help in making this happen 👍
The 57 sounds Great Old Hillbilly isn't used to all that Horse power under the hood .He's finally drove a Badass Car A CHEVY....LOL..LO😂😂😂 Great job Guys on the Old 57...and Video..
sounds awesome great job and thanks to summit racing and everyone who's been involved this 57 is back to life...Robby and hillbilly and Demeri can be on the road soon..keep making great videos 📹 😀 I'm with you straight headers okay 👍 👌
Lot of fun watching you guys working on this 57 Chevy. Can't wait to watch next episode.
Love it. I had a 56 as my first car. My dad bought from a farmer it had been used for target practice. He paid $85.00 for it. It needed a ring job. On the farm we did our own equiptment.
My dad helped but I did the ring and the tappets. So when it came time to start it, it started off three batteries done in a relay. Dad says, " Time to lick your calf over!"
I redid it and (I had the rings too tight.) It started right up. This was back in the day of drag racing for pink slips... I was the undisputed champion, only dad never let me keep my winnings!( Big Bummer) it was the off white and copper colored one!
Thanks Robby. You brought back some beautiful memories for this old man.
&
Awesome the 57 sounds really good
Safe journey, have fun. It's been a great series & Summit really did you right. They're great peeps~
I’ve really enjoyed this series! I can’t wait to see how you guys repair the rust bucket….. and a coyote would have been a better option than an LS 😉….
Glad you are finally on your way home. I think Hillbilly's Idea of putting a sheet of plywood in the floor or under it is a good idea.
I've been subscribed to your channel since you got this car from WD Detailing. And seeing where it came from, it's just simply awesome how you guys got this beauty back on the road! Great work all of you!! ❤
I can't wait for my road trip to see this car. 57 Chevy is the dream car for sure.
The Silver Bullet sound’s Bitchin 👏💙🤍 Bravo to all of you 🤍💙
And there you have it "Mary-Belle" screams to life, have a good week and count your blessings amen.
Great job guy's, that things gonna be AWESOME when it's finished.
Are those early ‘70’s Mopar seats? Love the astroturf carpet! 🙏❤️😎🤙🛻💨
That ol'girl turned out pretty sweet Gang ! She sure does got a strong heartbeat in her without a doubt. I missed what motor you ended up using in her.
Y'all be safe headed back west, and thanks for sharing this adventure with everyone ! ✌️❤️🙏
Anyone who has ever been to that point when the engine finally fires up and run knows exactly how you felt. Great job.
Demri is a doll a very soothing voice and the 57 sounds great.
I knew you guys needed more than 7 days but I was wrong thinking that you going to hit the 14th day mark, also surprisingly that the floor held up with Robby on it. 🤙
I want to see the full body resto. This is going to be exceptional.
Don't get me wrong I love our down under muscle cars but I've always had a place for the 57 Chevy. Just look at this beauty, it holds a presence. I would watch a full restore on this beauty.
Sweeeet '57! I was three years old when Chevy introduced this iconic dream....and I wanted one, bad!
Y’all are killing me here-hanging out in my old stomping grounds and I’m not there to see it! I never thought I’d see little ol’ Rittman in a TH-cam video, let alone a Robbie Layton video. I used to get my hair cut in a barbershop across the street from the garage where Rittman Automotive is located. There was another mechanic shop there before, called Kelly’s Auto Service. Tony and I took the driving part of Driver’s Ed together.
Kenny rocking the Kill Dozer shirt. Kenny is my new favorite. Thank you for your time.
Justin and Robbie with the one and only Hillbilly and the boss expertly installed fun!
Your enthusiasm for this car is over the top. Be careful but have fun on the drive home. If it were mine I’d cut out the rust and weld in new metal, but probably just wet sand it, clear coat it and drive like the wind.
🎉🎉🎉👏👏👏👏👏 Thank you Summit Racing for helping Robbie and Hillbilly
Wow very awesome guys. I’m a lil jealous I must say. Well done guys on the time limit to 🤙😎🇦🇺💪
@2:53... Justin's "Giggle of Happiness"! YES, MOTOR RUNS!!!
Justin is such a cool guy! Love him! Happy and great positive friendly attitude.
Cool to see you drive through Cincinnati.
Man thats gotta be a fun road trip in that car.
@joeallen4454 ...if you enjoy hours of breathing in all the dirt/ fecal dust/ rust that is coming loose...and the eventual hearing loss due to the excessive noise decibels from that hollowed out cavern they are riding in. Growing up on a farm with older machinery, I speak from experience. Just like ignoring PPE, these things come back to haunt you later in life. Ask anybody over 50.
@@billbillinger2491 lmao im 57. know all about that :)
Epic 9 days ,you brought that amazing American mussel car back to life, you did in 9 days what would have taken most people months corronatted all those parts the awesome motor and trans ,I really enjoy these videos what great timing for the 4th weekend thank you all so much Awesome build Happy 4th ,man does that car sound good
Don't call it a "mussel" car or they will get a ticket crossing back into Utah without an inspection.
Haha.Fab Rat reference.
@@brianhaygood183 😄🙃🦅🇺🇸
As someone from PA, I was glad to see you stop at a Sheetz!
Robby's excitement is contagious! What a great episode. I'm looking forward to seeing the rest of the trip. Safe travels. 👍
Yes!!!!! Been waiting for this.
I am a ford guy (mustangs) like hillbilly but a 57 Chevy is an awesome car. So glad you saved it.
'57 Chevy just has all the right lines and is one of the finest looking Chevys they made.
Love those wheels!!
Awesome build! You always name your gas and snack stops but dis'd Sheetz? The best convenience stores, hands down. Good luck on your trip!
WOW!! The 57 is on the road and book'n home!! Awesome!! Can't wait to see what all you do it in the way of fixing all the rust and getting the interior redone as well as paint!! COOL!!!!!
Be sure you get a safety inspection sticker somewhere
I love that Mexico is so lush and green this time of yr.
Dear Lord, Robby... after the '57, I can't wait to see what you will do to my Charger!!!
It's got a perfect stance.
The car sounds great. I think it needs some electric exhaust cutouts!! After y'all get home & start the restoration you might want to add a gear vendor. If you ever decide to take the car on a drag & drive it would be nice to have overdrive. I'm looking forward to seeing the rest of the drive home & then the restoration! Thanks!
@Robby looking forward to seeing the body work and restro of this 57 Chevy Bel Air! Keep up the good work! Enjoying this series.
-Rob in Tennessee
LOL, Mexico is an amazing country. It always looks exactly like the area the people are from!
Robbie's first f-bomb LOL 😂😂
16:54 "Mr No Power!" Awe man, you guys are having too much fun. It sounds like Hillbilly found the gas pedal and the POWER in that 57!!
What you guys accomplished in such a short time is amazing. Its taken me since January to get my 57 wagon on the road. Its in about the same shape as your car. You all passed within a couple miles of me. Im in Covington KY, across the river from Cincinnati. I remember that storm the other night. Ill definitely be paying attention to your channel on this car. I assume you'll be completely restoring this car? This will be fun to follow!
Awesome job! That car has come a long way since WD saved it from a collapsing garage! I travel all over south west Ohio for work, woulda been cool to see you guys on the road. I love 57's
Another adventure ! Thanks for sharing !
Great job guy's. She looks great and sounds awesome. I live in Kentucky and would have loved to came seen you guy's in Louisville. Hope you you do her justice and make her look new again. Stay safe and keep up the great work. Thanks for the video.
I like Justin. He seems to fit right in with your crew, Robby. Job well done by all of you.
Really excited for you guys, a real adventure.
