Haytham is definitely one of the top 5 characters in Assassins Creed. I'd love to have another Templar game with him, but more of an origins story. We could see Edward's death and how Reginald Birch trained Haytham, his first missions, etc. Would be a great opportunity to explore more of the Templar philosophy.
You did incredible work on Unity, Syndicate, Black Flag, III, and Origins. But I like to suggest you replay other old AC games like Assassin's Creed 1, and Assassin's Creed 2.

I miss the AC3 gameplay. So dynamic and cinematic. The dual kills were so satisfying to watch and execute. Now in odyssey it's more like this dark souls shite of gameplay of rolling on the floor nonstop to dodge.
It can probably be done stealthy on a few missions, but it would sure be a slog. The game really needed more time to fix up the design and enemy placement on top of all the technical issues.
I'm a huge AC fan but always hated this game. Tried giving it another chance but man I just couldn't get through it. It's just too shitty. Hard to play too when I know I can just boot up Black Flag which takes everything good from AC3, makes it 1000 times better, and removes everything bad from AC3.

He grows with no father and he is manipulated by everyone into believing it was the Templars who burned his village, which it was not... That will make anyone carry on with a chip on their shoulder. But still, I get it, not many people like Connor anyway; they were too used to Ezio... Also, there's no possible way you think Haytham and Charles Lee are bad characters. Well, you might think that but there's no good argument for it if you ask me. They're probably the best Templars in the series. As for the setting and aesthetics, that's all your personal preference, so I won't argue there. It's certainly not the most exotic of locations, I'll say that.

No, I think context matters very much. Otherwise you might as well do anything you want with the story and make things unrealistically wacky. Would it make sense for Connor to act like Ezio when he grew up without a father and watched his mother and people die? The answer is obvious. You may not like Connor, I won't argue preferences, but you can't deny there's a good reason for his personality being so monotone. In fact, I could make the argument his demeanor resembles a cold assassin much more than the ladies man jokester Ezio, but I digress. I think people just want colorful entertainment, which is why Ezio and Edward are the two most liked protags. But still, for a profession where you're killing people constantly, light-hearted cheer 24/7 isn't very realistic.
One of the underrated Assassins Creeds and definitely one of my favorites
