    Great review, thanks for being so thorough. It's good to see the pros and cons between the different options.
    FYI, on the Swarovski TAs-SLC adapter, there is an adjustment screw at the base of the collet hole; if it were to get a little loose over time, or if the adjustment isn't just right when you get it or maybe you'd like it to have a little less tension when you tighten the cam lever, a flat head screwdriver tightens or loosens the collet adjustment.

    Did you get the short or tall Outdoorsmans adaptor? BTW the Outdoorsmans Arca Adapter

      Most tripods (including the one in the video) come with a quick release plate which you could use with the Outdoorsmans adapter. Most of the quick release plates are on the large side though, so that small one that is made for the Outdoorsmans (link is in the description) is the perfect size for it. Thanks again!

    How is the tolerance of the arca swiss that is on the Field Optics and the Outdoorsman plate compared to the plate that the VA-5 comes with (TY-75A)?? I just order the VA-5 and read arca swiss plates vary by manufacturer. So if you have different brands of plates on different optics you have to adjust the tolerance on the head every time you switch optics.

    • @BackwoodsPursuit
      @BackwoodsPursuit  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey there! Yeah, the VA-5 head has pretty tight tolerances and I've found that a lot of other brands of plates fit more snug. If memory serves correctly though they both worked on the VA-5. I'd recommend finding one brand of plate and picking up one for each of your optics though so you don't have to adjust the VA-5 every time you swap optics. Thanks for watching!
