Such and expensive hobby, and so many MTB videos throwing money at new stuff. It's refreshing to see someone getting value out of products and to persist with thing when they don't look so fresh, as this is really a reality for most of us.

Derailleur hanger tool is my latest tool. I can't get a replacement hanger where I live, so this has saved my shifting. I'll get a spare or two next time I'm in the UK. I've had a few hangers, and only found out about this tool from a Berm Peak video. Seems crazy now to think I used to replace them, when I could bend them back a few times before failure. I always removed my derailleur and hanger if putting on a plane now. Especially after anxiously staring out of the window in Barcelona to see if I could see my bike loading, to see the ground crew overhead throw the box on to the conveyor.

Druid has special hanger too! And they are hard to get so this tool helped me so much 👍 it’s a good idea to take them off on plane. They are kinda easy to bend 🤣

I don't like exposed elastic straps as it seem UV is a killer. My chest strap on my Dakine Bag may go at some point, but I can detach and sew a new one with a little effort. There are two elastic strap bands that hold back loose ends of longer straps on the back, but they've lost it now, and replacing them is a lot more tricky, but they aren't so important. I'm not looking forward to ever replacing this bag, but as soon as a I see something I like in a slightly different size, my Dakine will get some breathing time and last a little longer.

Cheap is one of the criteria, but "cheap" means almost $100...I think I'll skip knee pads, elbow pads, and bike shorts if that's the case. I'm willing to spend that much on helmets and hydration packs, but not shorts.

@@xaviermtb5475 her head angle is 66 degrees stock...... If you watch her ride, she is ridding the fork close to mid travel when pointed down hill, this is bringing her head angle closer to 70 degrees....remember, when you go beyond 90 degrees its OTB time.
