- Soda as seen under the microscope.
I used a tryptic soy agar petri dish to grow microbes in soda. I used 100 microliters and incubated it for 24 hours at 37 degrees Celsius.
Camera - Nikon D3300
Microscope - Leica ATC 2000

Would it be possible to look at something before and after a fly lands on it? I'm always afraid it left traces of something.

Those bubbles looked kinda cool. Also, I knew there was a lot of sugar in soda... but seeing the sugar visually was crazy. That is insane.
It's even worse than that 65g of white sugar though. The 65g of high fructose corn syrup, that is.

I appreciated the sugar demonstration, make people think about what they put in their bodies.
When you visibly showed how much sugar is in soda...
I felt that quitting soda a decade ago was the right decision.

I still drink some juices from time to time but mostly just water for me. Visual really put into perspective just how much sugar there is in these drinks

I do like my juices. Concentrated apple, pineapple, and orange for me. Also milk, but it has been overwhelmingly water for the entirety.
I will say that I've tried pop again recently, couldn't even stomach the mouthful I attempted.

The petri dish experiment is interesting. You should compare colonies from different types of water: tap, filtered water, distilled water, store bought water and link back to this video to juxtapose it to soda water and show how different colonies are affected by different filtration processes.

65 grams. Soulitions are amazing and when sugar is hydrated past its crystalline state it becomes cool.
But when dehydrated with a strong dehydrator like h2so4 (sulphuric acid) the way it releases the carbon is crazy.
You make that background music yourself with a pedal/ loop I'm guessing. I use to love doing that, maybe I'll get back into it.

You could do beer with active yeast in the bottle or beer during the fermentation or conditioning process.

This is so interesting this is kind a cool I never thought soda at least carbon dioxide bubbles look like that, I would like you to do more.
65g sugar per bottle (500ml) means 13g of sugar every 100ml which is really high.
Nowadays manufacturers had to limit sugar up to 5g and the putting additional artificial sweeterner which isn't good for health. Some of them prefer stevia for alternative for artificial sweetener, however this ingredient will significantly changes the taste of the beverage.

Would it have been possible to see the crystalline structure of the sugar once it turned solid, or would that require far more magnification?
It would need to dry even more, it's still in a somewhat hydrated phase in the syrup. Now if you let that syrup dry out completely, you would deff see some crystalline sugar crystals -- most likely of the square variety.
Can u please show milk without boiling and after boiling under microscope , it helps us to understand after boiling milk does any change occur in it

I'm looking at a 500ml coke bottle and that "only" has 54 grams of sugar. Certaily no joke how much more they use in the US, though I'd like to try some.
It's mostly HFCS; only the Mexican stuff has real sugar.
