Denna moved to Brooklyn a year ago now, she’s been living in New York City for about seven years. You can catch more content around New York in my New York City Vlog.
We started this New York City apartment tour in Brooklyn in the entryway. Denna explains that her entryway decor was focused on practicality. She chose to use entryway furniture that helped her get in and out of her space with ease. Her favorite part in the entryway decor is the prince that says “A Persian lady receiving a visitor”. She uses it as a compass for what she wants the vibe to be when someone comes into her New York City apartment.
The next part of the video is the bedroom tour. The overall bedroom aesthetic is about softness and comfort. Denna used bedroom decorating ideas like a soft pallet of colors and soothing materials. She also explains that in order to style a small bedroom she really thought of what was her intention with the space. For instance, she used a DIY for the bedroom in order to create her own bedside table. Once again, we talk about bedroom storage ideas for small rooms, and Denna explains that she brought in a dresser in order to put all of her clothes away.
Denna also used the built-in shelves to add some life to the bedroom decor. She added a plant to bring in some green in the bedroom and she also displayed her poetry collection. One thing that makes this bedroom tour so special is the ceiling window. It brings in so much light and ice. Denna explains she is allowed to wake up in New York City with the sun. Finally we talked about jewelry. Denna is known for her beautiful jewelry collection and she had it on display in her bedroom. It made for some cute decor in this apartment tour.
The bathroom decor in this apartment tour, 2023 was thought around a color scheme of blues. For the anecdote, while New York City apartment hunting, Denna was very surprised by the size of this bathroom. Apparently in New York it is common to have very small bathrooms. That is actually something we saw in Anne’s queens New York City apartment tour. We joked a little bit about how I’ve felt like both her and Ann‘s nyc apartments were quite spacious. Denna explains that this is not a typical New York City small apartment tour bathroom .
The bathroom decor is really cute. Denna used quite a few of her travel souvenirs. There is the towel from turkey or the decorative bowl from morocco.
Finally in to finish part one we talk about the mirror and the beautiful ficus Liotta that Denna has. She explains that while she started living in New York City, she lived in Harlem. Her previous New York City apartment didn’t have any lights so when she moved to Brooklyn, New York she decided to buy many plants for her space.
