Just found this video. I’m guilty of asking how color pallets are made, without looking at older content. This is awesome & it will help me no end in painting my own scenes. BTW I loved Hebden when I lived in the UK!
Hi James, thank you very much for this tutorial! It validates the colour palette creating process I use also. Many thanks for continuing your tutorials while we are going through this virus pandemic.
Hi James. I’d love it if you considered creating a full digital drawing/painting course. Really enjoy your videos and it’d be great to have a step by step art course. Subscribing to your Patreon! Thanks
Hi James! Amazing video and very helpful as well. I have been following you and your tutorials for quite some time now and I have to say, they have really helped me improve my drawing. Even though I am currently studying to become a product design engineer where landscapes aren’t really the focus of my studies, your videos have really helped me improve my coloring and I am starting to understand how colors, depth and lighting works. This video really helped me understand how to make a color palette for my designs since I will from now on follow your way on making a palette for the products I design. Great job once again!
Hello. Glad to see you in this time of confinement. Give us more things to do. We would like that very much. I’m having difficulty concentrating. My only production so far, was a drawing of a single roll of toilet paper (my last?)
This was helpful :) do you have any tips for picking a palette when you’re drawing from imagination? Especially if you want to create a specific mood or feel. Tips on how certain colours work together would also be helpful in this context!
Thanks so much. Total beginner here and have been watching your tutorials and they are wonderful. As a beginner I have tried to find out about "printing companies" and run into the RGB vs CMYK issues they talk about. Recently saw that Procreate 5 added in a CMYK palette - did a search on your channel for CMYK, but nothing popped up. Wondering if you could do a tutorial on that subject and how to use it? I've seen some print companies want customers to keep it in RGB for their RIP programs (something like that) and others say they would rather art be sent in CMYK format. So really unsure about all of this. Thanks in advance!
Your work has absolutely blown me away. I am not an artist by any means, I am a carpenter and inventor. But I would like to invite you to join me on a project that my wife is putting together. She is writing a book on my experiences surviving the Khmer Rouge genocide and growing up as a child soldier in the war-torn country of Cambodia. If you’re willing, I would be honored to feature your art as the centerpiece of a chapter. If you would prefer I could send you an excerpt of the text for you to get inspiration from, or I could suggest scene for you to depict. I really love your videos and think your style would complement the tone of this memoir. I will be sure to give you credit and spread your reach through social medias of myself and my family. I really appreciate and respect your craft so I would rather bring attention to you than do it myself. Please let me know if you are interested and I am excited at the thought having your art be a part of my journey. Thank you for your time. Saren and Margaret Claude margaretclaude@hotmail.com
I very much like the content and instructional part of the vid. I’d love to watch more of your work. But your rapid zoom in and out is very disconcerting.

Lol more coming today on my channel, but it’s a foundation level basic!
Thank you! Very informative! I had no idea!! I got many ideas from this!! I love your videos!!
I much prefer Procreate to Photoshop!
Nice informative tutorial. As a water colourist at heart i always try to keep to a very limited palette as this unifies the painting.
Thank you so much!!!! You are unreal!!!!
Thank you
Could you do some more interactive painting? I miss those videos! Thanks for all you do.
Just what I needed.
Good 😊

It's useful if you want to work fast but wouldn't you say it will also slow one down to learn how to see values and color?
🌸
