The audio from a music source is recorded first on to the Light 0 Rama software then the construction is done with the lights? Light O Rama will provide the time code once the music is layed down into the software to keep everthing in sync?

You can use an Arduino, a relay board and a custom made outlet board. It is not hard to do and there is a lot of support for it. I am currently trying to do it myself.

@TechTasticDJs if i were to play continuously play music for an extended time with different songs and i had a sequence for each song, would the software automatically play the sequence made for each individual song?

I like this video, mistakes and all. It makes it more real, like someone is right there. Mistakes happen.

well actually i have seen a controller for about 80 bucks a year or 2 ago at home depot. however you cannot program it to do what you what and it only comes with a few pre made songs there might have been an mp3 hookup not sure but still nothing you can make yourself or extend for more controllers for a more wild show

Is there a maximum length of song you can use, or is it as long as you want? Also if the audio track is stereo, does it play stereo out of this software? Thanks

Hello I have one question I just started doing this about a year ago I’m using light O Rama software My light controller is CTB16PC and I’m thinking I want to go with strip lighting to i’m thinking of purchasing a E1.31 controller on the light o Rama I can use red green blue conversion on the same software but I don’t know if I can Daisy chain cat 5 Connected to CTB16PC Controller can you do both on the same networking and my software I have can convert to Red green blue channels do I have to use a different networking on the same computer for the software to run both controllers? Very confusing... thanks lots to learn

Yes you can and I am just saying you can go to sites like holiday coro and get much better deals on controllers and lights also use xlights which is free instead of paying for LOR. Holiday coro sells an actidongle which connects to your RS45 jack on your pixel controller for LOR controllers but if you just buy alphapix ac and alphapix smart rgb controllers its seamless and much cheaper I have used them for 8 years never had a problem that wasn't taken care of directly.

I haven't had the chance to get the equipment and stuff myself, but this is something that I have researched and made designs for.
wizard101520, if you want stuff that cheap, it won't work worth anything.
The video with the LMFAO song is one of the newer ones. The lights on the trim are Cosmic Color Ribbon. An epic (and expensive) upgrade from his previous years display. Also, just a FYI, his Home Owners Association shut him down by making a "general rule" against displays like this.

I'll be honest. There is a starter setup available online, but it will only run a few hundred lights, and only uses built-in music. For this quality, you'll need this light-o-rama setup. Cool stuff often isn't cheap!

yeah home depot units are not professional units like we use. it's worth the money. the support is top notch and they last a long time. i recommend getting the assembled KIT, you just have to put the wires all on.

Thing that sucks about this is that it takes FOREVER to program lights. The more lights you have, the longer it will take. And if you have RGB’s, it will take even longer

Can you use any type of Christmas lights or no?

    • @pennplayz
      @pennplayz 7 ปีที่แล้ว

Jackson Fowler he is using the Pixel Controller and Pixel Lights, they are RGB LED lights, it lets you control everything down to color
They have normal controllers, which use normal Christmas lights, it allows you to do things like twinkle, fade, etc.
With both of them, you can make the lights dance to music

these are not on/off clacking relays, LOR controllers are fully solid state dimmers using phase controlled triacs, They make NO sound when operating.
