Definitely agree with Marquesas. Rotu 4 flip was genius and unprecedented at the time. Also had some of the best characters, Rob 1.0 is the best version from a character point of view. Sean was great, Kathy was great, Vecepia is an extremely underrated winner who survived a pathetic Maraamu tribe, a swap to the minority on Rotu, and being on the very bottom of the merge only to still be at the bottom at F5 when Kathy sided with Neleh/Paschal and Sean got voted out. I think Gabon is one of the most entertaining seasons of Survivor, but as far as a whole season goes, it wasn't a great season. The gameplay and strategies were bad throughout the season, but I think that's what made the season entertaining. I do like Gabon as a season for sure though. Just recently finished my rewatch of Marquesas, and watching Vanuatu now. Marquesas was absolutely an underrated gem of a season, and so many of those players deserve to be brought back to play again.
I feel like I'm the only one who thinks this Edge of extinction is so underated imo. The cast is great there’s so many potential returnee in this cast: Rick, Reem, Ron, Wardog, Vic, Lauren and evening Chris Underwood would be interesting to see prove himself like Michele. Both the pre merge and post is one of the only seasons I find myself never getting bored at. Watching the cursed Lesu/Mana tribe, Wendy and the chickens (especially the flint is hilarious), Rick is vastly entertaining, it’s Kelley at her best imo, Aubury’s boot and of course Reem island welcome 😂 A lot people hate the twist but it makes the last episode so interesting. It’s basically an entire season in 2 hours and like it or not Chris played a totally perfect game when he came back.
Yeah I put EOE at 18th in my season rankings. Amazing cast with with a couple duds like Julia, Joe, Eric, Gavin, even like an Aubry wasn't too good at the game this season but everyone else was great and the gameplay was great with the Eric blindside, the Joe blindside, the Wentworth blindside being the best parts of the season! And the finale itself was amazing! Easily a top 5 all time finals
Love EOE. Unpredictable tribals, blindsides of the returnees, Reem and Devens. Chris winning just left a bad taste in my mouth. It made all the game play and strategies irrelevant.
YES YES YES MARQUESAS IS A HIDDEN JEM from the hilarious preswap maaramu to the huge underdogs of postswap maaramu to Boston Rob which is probably even better then his other seasons, to the flip on the Rotu 4, to the purple rock draw to vecepia’s cutthroat game in the last few days this season is honestly on the same level as the newer seasons.
Really? No Guatemala? That season is the most underrated season of all time, to me. I think the cast is great and the game play is fascinating and no one ever mentions it when talking about good seasons.
@@joeertman I liked Corrine but she was too mean and aggresive towards Sugar ..I am not a fan of Sugar but that was too much .. I personally find Ghost Island to be pretty underrated. It's far from perfect but the pre merge is amazing and the merge episode is awesome. It slows down after that but there is still Micheal's under dog story and Domenick and Wendell being a great duo. The finale is great too.
Chris Daugherty is my all time favorite player and Vanuatu is my favorite season. He was a total boss, straight up making promises and then slicing throats the very next vote. Over and over. And then convinces all these people he knifed in the back to vote for him
it always makes me so sad that HHH gets so much flak, most of the cast is genuinely fun and interesting, and tbh I didn't even mind the Ben Bombs in the last few tribal councils bc like.... everyone knows that idols often go back in play when one was used the night before, so it was really fun seeing this guy never sleep in order to drag himself to that final 4 (though I can't defend the fire making challenge)
I mean, he was blatantly searching for the idol, and no one did anything. The kind of got what they deserved for just letting their target search for the idol without trying to find it themselves.
HHH was honestly a really good season, had some incredible plays and only gets hate because of how controversial Bens win was. In an alternate universe where that twist never happened and Devon ends up winning, I think it would be in most people’s top 10s
This isn't a popular opinion, but Edge of Extinction. I didn't watch it live, so I can see how people would be totally pissed at the end result, but watching it with the knowledge that Chris was going to win made the season incredibly fun to watch. So many good characters, a lot of fun tribal councils, and Chris played beautifully at the end. Probably one of my favorite seasons in recent memory.
Marquesas is one of my top 10 favorite seasons ever and I'm glad it's getting the recognition it deserves! I'd also have Gabon on this list. I found its chaos really great and fun to watch.
I think the biggest weakness Marquesas has is its cast compared to the first three seasons of Survivor. Half is the cast is full of duds and the winner barely even gets her own winner story.
Guatemala, The Amazon, and Edge of Extinction are the most underrated I’ve seen. But I’m still going thru the seasons. Also think Kaoh Rong is a top 10 season. Not sure if that’s too big of an leap to claim as one of the most underrated, though.
Vanuatu coming after All-Stars already meant the season was facing an uphill battle before it even started. The pre-merge isn't bad but I wouldn't say it's anything great but the post-merge and Chris's revenge story somehow turning into a win is one of most amazing storylines the show has ever had.
during the filming of survivor: fiji there was coup d’tat happening in in the country. because of that there was no loved ones visit. earl survived 39 days in an unstable country and won $1 million for it. that’s iconic
This is my favourite Survivor channel. I have adored Survivor since its beginning and am loving watching a lot of the older seasons here in Australia whilst still in lockdown. I will NEVER tire of "survivors ready". "if anyone has a hidden immunity idol.." "head back to camp I've got nothing for ya" etc. Am I the only one who doesn't like Boston Rob? He'd be first one voted out if on Aus Survivor. Our own version has been awesome for the past 2 seasons and host Jonathan gives Jeff a run for his money.
shane is the ONLY castaway to make me cry. he was wildly entertaining (him having cirie diagnose him, the blackberry) & still had a heart. survivor casting needs to step tf up & put him on a season
Honestly, I think Marquesas is underrated because a lot of people didn't know where the Marquesas was. Coming off of Africa and Australia, too easily recognizable places for most Americans, Marquesas was too obscure for them. Especially since the locations were such a huge part of the marketing and storytelling and overall draw for the show early on.
Unpopular opinion, Nicaragua is not under rated, but over hated. It has a RIDICULOUS cast of characters who range from horrible to unlikable to okay to straight up silly. It has some pretty good challenges, and to me the entire season of people is so ridiculous that I can’t help but laugh. Everyone pretty much stumbles their way around and Marty spouts about everything being a conspiracy against him, Jane is a BEAST and is both unlikable for her weird marty-hate and enjoyable to watch in the challenges, Brenda is the best player in the game, chase is just like a golden retriever puppy, fabio is yknow fabio. I just find it hilarious to watch these people stumble around the entire season.
Vanuatu is on my top 5 seasons, its so great and good tv to see all those women taking controll of the show and then fighting with each other. Also, there is a lot of nice personalities.
SoPa is my underrated fave. It’s Ozzy at his best, and Coach at his most hypocritical. Which to me are both interesting in different ways! The majority of the cast is memorable (especially Upolu) and we got a very deserving and unique winner in Sophie. My favorite moment is when Brandon gives up immunity to Albert, and then he gets voted out. Albert obviously knowing Brandon was going home, yet continuing to insist Brandon is safe always cracks me up!
As a relatively new survivor fan (and I know this is going to cause some eye rolls), I found it difficult to commit to watching some of the pre-HD seasons. But I finally committed to Cook Islands, and I'm very glad I did. Now I might just have to watch some of these underrated seasons next ;) starting with Marquesas
I totally get that! I never recommend pre-HD seasons for newbies just because it's such a huge jump down in picture quality. If Marquesas moves a little too slow, I'd totally recommend China! It's got a great cast, moves a pretty brisk pace, and is super funny.
All Stars is under-rated. It has one of the best all time casts. Awesome game play. Best season ever played (by Rob) and he did not win. But he got him and his future wife to the final And there was a great love story to boot..
This is wrong season 30 was absolutely insane yet very underrated 1. Mike won 5 immunities which tied the record 2. There was crazy drama between will and sherni 3. The final tribal was intense and no one knew excatly who would win but had a rough idea
Guatemala, Vanuatu, and Nicaragua for me. I would say San Juan del Sur, but I think it’s been getting the praise it deserves lately. The best thing about Guatemala is Stephenie’s arc of being a hero turned villain.
Panama: Specifically Danielle as a player, she was an amazing villain and a content queen m, her fights with everyone and her feud with Shane was amazing. She redeemed herself in HvV , would love to see her play again
3:02 I also find it ironic that 2 Survivor Winners that lots of people said didn't deserve to win their season, Ben and Michelle, made it into the Top 5 of Winners at War.
I like this list. Fiji had one of the best opening themes of the entire series (I'm a sucker for the theme and Fiji's rendition is one of the best) plus that random "Well if Mookie or Alex has the idol, why not just vote Edgardo?" moment from Stacy. I'm sure there are already better coined terms for it already but I remember calling it Plan C when it first happened and it was absolutely amazing to watch live (and I was kinda rooting for the horsemen too, so I felt bad for Ed... but the genius of that move at the time...) Plus yeah Earl is a totally underrated winner. Fair points on HHH. The fire-building format change did rub me the wrong the way and I did like the cast. Lauren especially I want to see return. Exile Island I feel like is pretty well received, at least from what I've seen... but if it wasn't, I would be annoyed lol. One couldn't write a better dysfunctional tribe than Casaya in a scripted show and the fact that they really only had to contend with one person is that much better. So many great memories, from Shane implying that Courtney's apartment was mediocre while literally threatening her life and her first thought was "my apartment's not shitty" to the absurdly hilarious edit of Bruce's medevac to Cirie going from "I'm afraid of leaves" to "I'm a fire-making challenge away from final 4." Casting was probably wetting themselves from having so many "oh this person will make good TV" choices ending up all on the same tribe and then not even knowing how to react when they actually dominated. Vanuatu is my favorite season so I can just leave that there >_>. And Marquesas... well yeah, I wish I had been a fan at the time. I didn't start watching Survivor until Guatemala. As amazing as Marquesas was and as much as I do appreciate it, to have been able to watch it live and spoiler-free would have been a hell of an experience.
I rewatched Heroes vs Healers vs Hustlers recently and found it boring. Besides the unfairness at the end, I found the cast very dull and were just less interesting versions of previous castaways eg. Ben was like Mike H without the crazy personality, Ryan and Mike were toned down versions of Cochran and David, Devon was like Malcolm with no charisma, Joe was a mild version of Tony, Cole and Jessica were a less crazy version of Taylor and Figgy. Chrissy was okay but really robotic. Some interesting moments but didn’t really care for anyone.
10:16 : Oh damn, Rosie hosting... I so clearly remember the next season, Jeff Probst was in a commercial hyping up the soon to come Survivor Thailand reunion show... "No singing... No dancing..." Clearly a shot at Rosie. LOL
Strongly agree about HvHvH. Yes the ending is absolutely absurd but the rest of the season is great. People also hate on Ghost Island a lot, but outside of the kinda weird theme and the end firemaking contest returning the cast is pretty great imo. Also everyone is mad at Ben finding all those idols but it is 100% the fault of everyone else refusing to look for idols, watch Ben looking for idols, and split votes.
I think a moment in Fiji that is not remembered as much as it should be is Dreamz backing out of his immunity/car deal with Yau-man. That tribal council was so dramatic. I also think Chris in the Vanuatu season should be remembered one of the great players in the game. It was amazing how he won from from being in a 6:1 minority.
Fiji and Exile Island were the first two seasons I ever watched so I was never sure if I was personally attached because of that or if they actually were really good seasons
While it's nice seeing Vanuatu here, when I think underrated seasons, I always think San Juan Del Sur, Guatemala, Millennials vs Gen X, and (at least from what I've heard people say), Kaoh Rong alongside it, so it was a little odd not seeing any of those. But I will concede Marquesas is really underrated now, especially for how important to Survivor's history and evolution it is.
EOE is underrated like HHH people get mad at the final twist so they ignore great stuff in the earlier season. HHH had Alan Ball great character, Ali robbed goddess, early merge sucks but when Lauren rallies the 4 and Devon has the Ben go undercover idea it's amazing. Joe Lauren Devon Chrissy and Mike are good characters postmerge And the rest is good. Similarly, EoE had the great Aubry blind side with an idol in her pocket, glorious Reem, Devens, Victoria, Lauren, Wardog, amazing blindsides like Eric and Wentworth and Chris Underwood had the best single episode performance til Tony got extorted a year later lol. But like with the 11th hour fire making, the principle that a 3rd boot is a season winner pisses trolls off. Even tho Chris did more in 6 days than Gav and Julie in 39
"As long as they obey." *gets voted out* Rob talking a big game, getting voted out prejury, and then being praised for his game as if he did something groundbreaking is peak Boston Rob.
In fairness to the F4 Fire challenge, the fact that it became a permanent installation makes me much less annoyed about it. It just so happened to come in at a time where there was someone who really needed it.
Exile island is my favorite season. Mostly because it was one of the first seasons I watched (along with Worlds Apart). And Terry, #BringBackTerryDietzForAnActualSecondChance
Vanuatu should be revered so much more than it is currently. The Yasur 6 is one of my favorite alliances of all time. Great characters and players alike
I am currently doing a rewatch of all the Survivor seasons, and I fully agree about Panama (Exile Island) and Fiji. I honestly liked both seasons better than Philippines and Blood vs. Water. Exile Island has my least favorite pre-merge so far, and Fiji's pre-merge is also weak, but both had terrific post-merges. I can't quite get behind Marquesas being on the list. The pre-merge and first 2 episodes of the post-merge were great, but after the John C. boot it's painfully boring and there is no one left who is particularly fun to watch. I would have had Nicaragua, South Pacific, Caramoan, or Gabon on the list instead.

Points taken! If only they worked together to find the idol so that ben wouldn't find it! But instead they're just sleeping and doing nothing at all
This is my favourite video you’ve made Mr Idoled Out. Well done.
Marquesas was my first season, so it holds a very special place in my heart! I was really glad to see it here!
You should do best/most unique rewards or greatest characters of all time! Love your content!
Thank you for watching! Love the best/most unique reward idea!
I think my most underrated favorite is BvW 2. I know its not a well loved cast, but I think it has a lot of greats!
so glad to see hhh on this list, its one of my favorite modern seasons and it tends to be the one i recommend for new viewers
Marquesas getting the recognition it deserves is beautiful.
I can't believe Exile Island is on your list. It's easily a top 10 season, no way does it deserve to be an underrated season.
Eh La Mina is one of the most boring tribes in history and the beginning of the merge is boring until Bruce’s med evac.
Guatemala, The Amazon, and Edge of Extinction are the most underrated I’ve seen. But I’m still going thru the seasons.
Also think Kaoh Rong is a top 10 season. Not sure if that’s too big of an leap to claim as one of the most underrated, though.
I had my pitchfork up as soon as you said “Heroes vs Healers...”😂😂😂
Vanuatu coming after All-Stars already meant the season was facing an uphill battle before it even started. The pre-merge isn't bad but I wouldn't say it's anything great but the post-merge and Chris's revenge story somehow turning into a win is one of most amazing storylines the show has ever had.
My favorite season
during the filming of survivor: fiji there was coup d’tat happening in in the country. because of that there was no loved ones visit. earl survived 39 days in an unstable country and won $1 million for it. that’s iconic
Marquesas and Exile Island are two of my top 10 seasons! Thankful I’m not alone in my Marquesas love. Keep these awesome videos coming!!
Cirie was soooo popular they brought back the Fan Fav Award
WHAT S4 MARQASIES IS UNDERATED WHY ITS THE TOP 5 BEST SEASONS WHAAAAT
Vanuatu was the first season I remember seeing as a kid.
My most underrated season is Kaoh Rong - so many dynamic, interesting players in one newbie cast!
People like koah Rong it’s not underrated lol
All of these seasons are entertaining. I can’t believe tons of websites rank these seasons as the worst.
"for revenge, basically"
- Ozzy at his finest
Honestly the season was decent imo except for the pagonging
As a relatively new survivor fan (and I know this is going to cause some eye rolls), I found it difficult to commit to watching some of the pre-HD seasons. But I finally committed to Cook Islands, and I'm very glad I did. Now I might just have to watch some of these underrated seasons next ;) starting with Marquesas
I totally get that! I never recommend pre-HD seasons for newbies just because it's such a huge jump down in picture quality. If Marquesas moves a little too slow, I'd totally recommend China! It's got a great cast, moves a pretty brisk pace, and is super funny.
@@IdoledOut It's also the second to last pre-HD season and the 1st season to have the into done the way HD seasons do it.
I'm always surprised SJDS never makes people's top "Survivor newbie cast" list. I absolutely loved that season
All Stars is under-rated. It has one of the best all time casts. Awesome game play. Best season ever played (by Rob) and he did not win. But he got him and his future wife to the final And there was a great love story to boot..
I agree that Vanuatu is very enjoyable but never even talked about❗️
Sean and rob confronting John on marquesas is the funniest thing I’ve ever seen
This is wrong season 30 was absolutely insane yet very underrated
1. Mike won 5 immunities which tied the record
2. There was crazy drama between will and sherni
3. The final tribal was intense and no one knew excatly who would win but had a rough idea
I agree with #1-3, 5 so much! (hvvhvh is just okay for me). Great video
If only Zoe had worked so hard and played so hard that she could’ve made everyone love marquesas.
Guatemala, Vanuatu, and Nicaragua for me. I would say San Juan del Sur, but I think it’s been getting the praise it deserves lately. The best thing about Guatemala is Stephenie’s arc of being a hero turned villain.
Guatemala is completely underrated
I’m gong through every season at random and I just finished Vanuatu. Absolutely fantastic season, Chris is one of the greatest winning arcs ever.
Totally agree about Fiji. I always roll my eyes every time Dalton Ross re-lists his season rankings and it's near the very bottom. It was quite fun!
Marquesas is the first season I watched so it's ranked pretty high on my list.
Panama/Exile Island being considered underrated is criminal.
Exile Island is a great season. I’ve watched through it twice. Totally recommend
Guatemala
Fiji
Vanuatu
When is everybody going to open to the fact that Edge of Extinction is actually a good season with a phenomenal cast
Ikr
I've actually rated Panama as my 6th favorite season ever, it's that good!
LOL
The Amazon is very underrated imo
marquesas is my favorite season EVER
Hi Luke. Is there an Idoled Out vídeo of the best players who never returned? Maybe Todd/Marcus/Nate, etc.?
I haven't done that yet, but I'd like to at some point!
Boston Rob's take on the members of the other tribe at merge is hilarious.
Glad to see Marquesas get its due. Such a great season!
Tim Apple hahaha. Well played sir.
Vanuatu and Exile island are one of the best seasons ever. Eliza from Vanuatu, Shane and Danielle from Exile Island are my favorite playerss
Gabon, Nicagura, and Mike Holloway's Season, and South Pacific.
Even tho Chris did more in 6 days than Gav and Julie in 39
"As long as they obey."
*gets voted out*
Rob talking a big game, getting voted out prejury, and then being praised for his game as if he did something groundbreaking is peak Boston Rob.
Survivor exile island (12) is absolutely the most under rated in my opinion. I’m really glad to see it on the list. SHANE IS AWESOME
In fairness to the F4 Fire challenge, the fact that it became a permanent installation makes me much less annoyed about it. It just so happened to come in at a time where there was someone who really needed it.
U go Jeff we Stan that
for so many years I thought s9 was the most underrated season in the history glad to see this
Loved HHH. Casting knocked out of the park.
Fiji,Thailand, Marquesses,Guatemala,Panama,Vanuatu,Gabon Underrated
Gabon is underrated it is genuinely the most fun I've had watching a season of survivor. It's a comedy and a train wreck I love it.
I liked survivor Fiji just cause lisi and the meke dance they did was pretty funny
I agree with HvHvH, rewatched it through recently and its characters really carry it. Pretty damn entertaining
