The reason you see 150kw station is because in the navigation map you have 2 and 3 electric bolts selected for supercharger. 2 is for 120-150kw and 3 bolts is for 250 kw. I always keep only 3 bolts selected that way it shows me the faster station.
I want the 150kW chargers to appear that's why I have both selected. I want to see them, but then make the choice on which one to go to. As much as I travel, I'd run into a lot of problems if I only kept the 250kW stations on. Good tip though for others. 👍🏻
I love the auto turn signal shutoff update. I’ve only had mine since end of September but that was my favorite update so far. Thanks for the videos, can’t wait to see what you do in AZ.
I said, "Yay!" out loud when I saw "Foreshadowing" on the screen. Now I have to wait for the next video! I have a road trip planned where I hit all the HGTV show towns that I watch and Waco is one of them. You're making me want to hit the road!
I noticed the automatic turn signal cancellation is smart enough to notice when you change lanes into a turn lane, and then it DOESN'T turn off the blinker until after you make the turn. I THINK it's based on arrows painted on the ground.
That has been one of my pet peeves of it as mine seems to turn off and wish it would stay on sometimes, but you're probably onto something with the arrows.
Before I picked up our model 3 in end of Oct and Model Y in Dec, your channel is very valuable to the new owners to EVs and appreciate you share your trips with us. I enjoy so much your road trips to national parks and definitely I will try to do that too.
That's awesome to hear! I'm so glad you found some value in them and hope to keep educating and entertaining going forward 😀 Lots of really fun trips coming up so stay tuned. Oh and you should definitely take some camping trips with it. While it's a tight space having the security and luxury of Camp Mode where you can set the temp at whatever you want makes up for it.
@@bryanhauer I definitely love the camp mode. The Starlink is on my wish list. Since I don’t take too many of road trips, the hardware cost seems high to me. Other than that, I am ok w the monthly fee pay as I need.
At the Waco supercharger you plugged into a 150kw charger. You can tell because the 150kw chargers have a silver ring around the handles and the 250kw chargers have a black ring. Easier to identify when at sites with two charging speeds.
For sure. I mentioned in the graphic it was a mix of 150/250, but at 21% I would think I would be getting more than 56kW in as I don't think I was sharing with anyone (although I can't see now in the video), but even then I would think I would still pull the full 74kW at only 21% SOC. Oh well 🤷♂️ Good tip though 👍🏻
That's the two rear parking sensors reacting to the rear cargo box. They think there's an object in the way. It usually goes away after a bit, but will pop up occasionally.
Just wondered why you physically push on EV port cover. I bring the charger over to the Y’s EV port cover first and press the chargers button… the port cover automatically opens. Love your videos! I’m a newb so I’m learning a lot!!!
This is actually one of my most asked questions oddly enough. For whatever reason my charge port has always been finicky about opening by pressing the charger button and only worked about 50% of the time at best, so after getting frustrated with it, I've just defaulted to pressing the door since that always works for me. I could have brought it in to get fixed at some point, but it was never really a bother to just press the door for me so haven't bothered yet. I suppose I'll mention it next time I have a service appointment. In my early videos this used to be an ongoing joke 😆
Hadn't driven me nuts yet 😀 I honestly hadn't looked at the settings yet. I don't keep the box on except when I'm camping now that I'm back out West, but will turn it off next time I put the cargo box back on the hitch 👍🏻
Very few have been in bad places. In fact even those were fine, but at 3AM there were some weirdos lurking around. Other than that, they're usually in very safe places.
Good question... very rarely, but after they turned off radar in a software update I have experienced it a bit more. It seems to hate very hilly roads & any type of wall/barricade. Seems to view these as a threat or it's not sure how to handle it so will occasionally slow down. On a typical trip over the last couple years I'd say it usually never happens, but on my recent trip to Mt Whitney which will be out soon, it happened like 4 times on the way there. You'd think software updates should make the car better, not worse, but in this case I started experiencing something I rarely had previously.
I haven’t tried yet so unfortunately can’t answer that. Maybe another viewer has tried and can chime in?? I did buy the official Tesla air compressor and tire sealant kit which I used once and worked great.
@@johndeleo1929 Yes I've noticed that often too. It goes in and out. If you enter your email they'll let you know when it's back in stock but just make sure to jump on it right away as they tend to sellout quickly

As a new MY owner, have learned so much from your videos, thank you so much for all the effort!
That’s awesome to hear 😀 You’re very welcome!
I'll be a new owner this week and your videos are definitely an inspiration.

Yep, love how it’s always changing and usually for the better. Almost every month the car gets better in some way 😀

Haha 😆 Magnolia was amazing! Was a fun trip for sure that I’d highly recommended you do. Next episode will be out Saturday.

I appreciate that 😀
Never been to Magnolia, looking forward to your next video and its coverage Bryan 👍
It was a fun day and learned a lot 😀 Should make for a good episode.

@@bryanhauer Agreed. Definitely weird it was only pulling 56kw at that low SOC.
At that Waco stop, that restaurant has some good muffins😀
You’re absolutely correct 👍 In the next video I talk about how good the food was there 😀
What is that red line showing in your car Monitor when you are on autopilot? That is starting jn 4:56 mark.

Another great video!
Glad you enjoyed it! 😀
Can you do an updated review on the EXPED mattress and why it’s better than the “Travel Sleeper” mattress you previously recommended? Thanks!
Yep. Already filmed it, just have to edit it. I'm hoping to release it next week or the week after. 👍🏻

Please show your trip stats! Interested in KWh difference with induction wheels and cargo carrier. Thanks!
Will do. These were filmed in December, but I will for sure in the new ones as it’s been requested by quite a few people 👍
Is there a reason you don't turn the proximity sensor sound off? That would drive me nuts lol
Hadn't driven me nuts yet 😀 I honestly hadn't looked at the settings yet. I don't keep the box on except when I'm camping now that I'm back out West, but will turn it off next time I put the cargo box back on the hitch 👍🏻
Just put my cargo box back on and immediately turned off Park Assist Chimes 😀
@@bryanhauer haha nice!
I am ready to charge at the doubletree and save $20 off the room.
Haha. It sure is nice when they offer free charging 👍🏻
That’s great that a charger would be around a police station. Hopefully all Tesla charging stations are not in dodgy areas
Very few have been in bad places. In fact even those were fine, but at 3AM there were some weirdos lurking around. Other than that, they're usually in very safe places.
@@bryanhauer that's awesome to hear especially for solo female travellers :)
With all the highway driving / autopilot, how often have you run into phantom breaking?

@Bryan Hauer do you hear as you are driving a noise that sounds like a whistle or a high pitch drill as you accelerate?
I don't. Do you hear it in my video as well as on your car or just one of those?
Is there a practical way of mounting a spare tire on your rack?
I haven’t tried yet so unfortunately can’t answer that. Maybe another viewer has tried and can chime in?? I did buy the official Tesla air compressor and tire sealant kit which I used once and worked great.
