Magnus said that his posistion was superior until f4, it was a blunder he thought that ding could not capture. He didnt explain why. He then said Ding played much better afterwards and he was lucky to win.
It is just Ragnarok. We don't even have this letter that you used (Ö). I guess if you wanted to spell it with Nordic rune letter, ǫ is the letter you had to find. But a regular O was proficient to win the game ;)
Agad you just crack me up with your jokes! I laugh out loud at some point in all your vids, this time it was "I saw your knights on the rim were very nice, so I might do that as well". I'm a go player but my TH-cam feed is filled with your chess vids, I wish there were a go channel as good as yours. Thanks for what you do!
Carlsen is a straight Jedi he uses Jedi mind tricks to get his opponent to not make the best move. I seen that move maybe its the pressure playing him.
Oh, so Carlsen moves the opponents pieces via Jedi finger waving and fools the other player. 'This is not the rook you are going to move...' 'I won't move the rook, I'll move the bishop' says the opponent. :)
It's like Carlsen has got into everyone's heads and convinced them he is unbeatable even when he is blundering the game. Looks like ding will be kicking himself reviewing this one.
Magnus Carlsen is the new Mike Tyson, and as we know, most of his opponent were beaten before they stepped in then ring... that dominance won't last forever, so enjoy it(if you do) while you can... if he beats you, please don't shed tears in front of him for God's sake! *shakes head*
A Karpov saga would be better, especially his match with Viktor Korchnoi in Baguio, 1978. A crazy match, with an interesting story, like the one about Fischer and Spassky. I definitely want a Karpov saga. A Petrosian saga would be nice too.
Hey man how are you? Great work on the videos. You have mentioned a few books in your videos before, which one would you recommend for someone who has never read a chess book and is also super into Tal games. Keep up the good work. ✌️
Not really, purely a blunder by Ding in the endgame, the position goes from equal to winning in one move, anyone rated 1500 could’ve found the winning combination
Mike Litoris No?! Really? Alright well don’t let anyone know I told you this, but you should consider buying some google shares, inside tip says they’re gonna get blow up soon
Awesome video as always, but I do wish you'd tell us whether it's the Classical or Armageddon game up front. Knowing if it's a must win game for white gives the game more context and missing moves under time pressure is much more understandable. Maybe it's just me that feels this way doe.
Yes, you forgot to mention that! On the other hand, you are pretty sick, too. Take care. It's OK to slip up, note how both players in this speed game slipped up.
To me it's pretty obvious now from the game play. Classical just feels different, even for low rated player like me. Rapid just .. feels different. More impulsive. Though Magnus often plays rapid like classical, he's that good. Not today though, he got lucky.
@@blahsomethingclever Agreed once the game is 50% or so over, but the first couple of missed moves or minor blunders I never really know, although I'm sure others may feel very confident of the format way b4 me.
After you showed the moves Ding Liren missed, I figured this was probably the Armageddon game. Carlsen got a bit lucky and took good advantage of his opponent's mistakes.
Nice game, and so finally it was a deep analysis ant not blunder, but it really looks strange 2 pawns gone for not so much immediatly. Thanks for cool vid
Not sure if you're being sarcastic, it was of course a blunder. This is the faster time control game, Magnus has ten minutes to win with white pieces. A blunder under time pressure, that's why so many moves were missed. Agad didn't mention several of them. Always look for Daniel King (power play chess channel) for much deeper analysis.
Damn there is really no room for remorse in chess, first Caruana can’t capitalize on Wesley’s blunders and mistakes and the same thing happened with Ding where both players were better the whole game but then end up losing
It's the Carlson Jedi Mind Trick. Look, Magnus messes up but then so do the opponents. This is due to the very short time frame for thinking. All are amazing still, considering this difficulty.
agadmator : I will not tell u if it's a classical or Armageddon I will tell u that in the end Me : without watching the video checks the description and there was written Armageddon!!?? 😅😅😅
10:39 don't capture on e4 instead you play g2+ if Ke1 then Ke3 and there is no defence against Rc1#. If you play Kg1 after g2+ then comes kg3 again threatens mate on c1. & It would probably be a more easily won game for Ding.
Could somebody explain the pawn f4 push by Carlsen right before Ding captures en passant? I don't fully understand it if it is indeed a good move with deep and calculated intent behind it, but I also almost always fail to believe that Carlsen just blunders something like that so simply. Thanks in advance! P. S. Please leave a comment so I know when to come back and check the comments for the answer/insight into the move. Thanks!
In a follow-up interview, Carlsen revealed that f4 was a blunder...and believed that Ding couldn't attack the pawn. It was a blunder that most likely would not have been made under a classical game format.
Ding had so many oportunities to win , Carlsen got one and he grabbed. No wonder he is the champion. Carlsen has been playing crappy opening lately and even so his oponents can't win. With rispect to photos. Ding has and old man face and you can't change that.
Why not just tell the format Agad? It makes for a better analysis, and people will better understand why the strongest continuations were missed. The opening selection is often a giveaway to a lot of us, and mentioning the dwindling clock ties adds drama. They were both almost below a minute by the end, or close to that.
I felt like this format causes the players to go for a draw in the classical games more often and put more emphasis on the armageddon games since they worth the same amount of points.
Yeah, maybe. My view is that it makes Black perfectly content with only playing defense...draw in classical forces Armageddon...draw in Armageddon wins. Contrarily, white has to play for a win in one of the games to achieve winning points.

Yes, the c5 continuation aged covers was a missed win. There were others as well, but agass doesn't want to spoil the format. I have no idea wby.
