I recommend you keep the garden and clothesline close to the door you will use to access them. As you get older a few extra feet to walk makes all the difference.
The magnolia is magnificent! I wish I could smell it! I’ve got my fingers crossed that your closing will finally happen for you this coming week! Best, Jan
I Loved seeing the underside of that tree! Thank U So Much. My magnolia bush had branches that came out of the main trunk close to the ground but not from under like yours does. I cut them off because my mom called them "suckers" They suck nutrients from the main body. Yours doesn't look like it's hurting any at all! U might want to get it insured incase of lightning. Looks like it might b the tallest tree in the state! 🌹 Beautiful!!!
Beautiful blossoms on that amazing tree! Knowing how tall Mike is, puts the height in perspective. Yes Jeanie, a Clothesline is always a good thing. Hopefully your plans for the property will be reality very soon!
It's so majestic! My parents had a magnolia tree on Long Island but it wasn't a southern variety. It was so much smaller. Good luck 🍀 🤞🏼 on your closing!!!!
Wow ,what a beautiful gigantic Magnolia. You are lucky to have it in your backyard. I bought a small magnolia plant for 20 Canadian dollar last year , I have no idea how much value does yours.❤❤❤🧿🧿🧿 🙏🙏🙏 thanks for sharing all the way from my kitty cat🐱 and me , he loves plants so much😊
Under your beautiful magnolia tree would be a wonderful place for children to play. I would have loved playing house with my favorite dolls under the branches, back in the fifties. It would make a great pretend house. Hopefully the house will be yours in the next few days. I’m definitely looking forward to seeing what you two do to this old house. Good luck!
😍 that is an amazing tree and the flowers is something that I've never seen before in my life. God bless you and that everything goes well with your closing
What a beautiful tree! I am jealous we can't grow them like that in the north. It seems like they will be in full bloom and then we get a frost and all the pretty blossoms turn brown! Thanks for sharing.
Wow it's enormous. I'd pick a few of those and have them in a vase in the house once it's bloomed. How delightful. Much love xxx ❤️ 😘 hope everything goes well with closing coming. X
Those blooms are massive! I wonder how the tree could be? Maybe it was planted around the same time as when the house was built. I wish you well with the house being completed very soon and look forward to seeing your next video. Have a great weekend!
WOWSERS! 😮 Those magnolias are going to be AMAZING! Thanks for the update, and we're being patient right along with you folks.😘 (Might wanna incorporate a magnolia into some of your merch!🌸) Blessings from The Great Northwest, Washington State 🌲🙏💕
I live in Southwest Virginia. I planted a magnolia tree in my front yard 20 years ago. It is blooming with flowers now. I didn't realize they get that big. My front yard isn't big enough for it, It is starting to grow into my neighbors yard. Dropping leaves all over the place. How does one control the tree? Or not.
Hmmm...I’ve never been inside my magnolia like that! Now I’m torn - I need to decide if my desire to go in there outweighs my fear of possible snakes! 😂😂 That is one beautiful tree! You’re lucky to have such a massive one that’s pretty as well.
So beautiful! Looks like you have some lovely crepe myrtle trees as well, and a very large sweet gum. Maybe you could do a tree tour of all the trees on your new property. It looks like Virginia. Whereabouts are y’all in the south?
Has nobody ever pruned that magnolia? We have a lot of them on the southern oregon coast where I am. And yes they get really tall. But all those lower branches need trimming. It's too bushy. It's like rhododendrons here that nobody ever trims and they take over their yards. We can control our plants and not just let them grow out of control. If I did that here. My farmhouse would dissapear under all the vegetation in a couple of years. Especially the blackberry vines. We have to constantly hack them back! Lol! 😁
We know about those Oregon Blackberry vines! They are pure evil when they get out of control. But the berries are so sweet and juicy! You should see some of the Rhododendrons up in the mountains of North Carolina.....Some of them have become monsters!
They should be pruned? I have a magnolia tree in my front yard that was planted over 20 years ago. It is now too big for my front yard and starting to go into my neighbors yard. I'm in Southwest Virginia. How should I prune it? The leaves are all over the place. I cut back some of the lower branches about 10 years ago. Thought it was a mistake. I could use some advice.
I don't believe I've had the pleasure of inhaling a magnolia tree's fragrance. Looks like arboreal maintenance on your property is gonna keep you busy! Fingers crossed on a closing very soon!
Wow! I had no idea magnolia trees are so large. Is that normal for them? Next Saturday, my hubby and I are moving away from AZ, to start a new adventure in my childhood hometown in Missouri! Sad to leave our families, but excited to get somewhere greener and cooler! Was it hard for you guys to move away?
Oh yes! Magnolia can reach 120 feet high at full maturity and can live to be 120 years old. Congratulations on your upcoming move. Think of it as an adventure! You'll get to see some new scenery as you make the trip and also spent some time getting reacquainted with your hometown. Moving is never easy and it's always hard to leave friends behind but there are new friends to be made anywhere you go. We've been through this several times in the course of my career but we've been enriched by living in the various cultures across America. Right now we're enjoying the Southern Culture!
We're not sure you can buy these anymore. It's over 100 years old and we've been told that it's an heirloom tree what isn't grown anymore. We've talked about trying to propagate more of these from seed. If you follow our channel, you may see something on this in late fall.
Is the tree suppose to be that huge? It was there no up keeping with the trimming? I want one but not that massive. My backyard had tons of trees I got taken out and want to replace them with the ones I like but if a magnolia tree grows that huge it’s worries me
I'm astounded. I had no idea there are magnolia trees that large! Amazing!
The smell of washing which is dried in the open air is just wonderful. I like your thinking
Thank you so much 😊
Thumbs up! Thank you for sharing the Giant magnolia tree. Wonderful aroma, wonderful sight.
I wish we could bring you the aroma!
A glass of tea and a chair under that tree with a good book . . .
I recommend you keep the garden and clothesline close to the door you will use to access them. As you get older a few extra feet to walk makes all the difference.
Wow, that’s a very big tree! Absolutely beautiful!
I adore a clothesline as well! Can't believe some communities have banned them. Hanging up your wash is so therapeutic.
Yes they are!
The magnolia is magnificent! I wish I could smell it! I’ve got my fingers crossed that your closing will finally happen for you this coming week! Best, Jan
Thanks Jan! I feel like we're on the verge. We'll probably get a phone call soon and everything will fall in place fast.

Beautiful yard love the tree
I hope the closing goes on as planned and y’all own the house very soon!!🤞🏼
We keep hoping! When it's all done, we'll have quite a story to tell.
Beautiful Magnolia. I was looking at one today at the nursery to replace a dogwood we lost this year. See you next time.
Thanks for showing the "inside" of the tree. It helped me wrap my head around how it was growing. I really hope the closing goes on as planned. 🌳
It's so majestic! My parents had a magnolia tree on Long Island but it wasn't a southern variety. It was so much smaller. Good luck 🍀 🤞🏼 on your closing!!!!
We never realized how many Magnolia trees were here until they started blooming. You're parents must have had a cold hard variety of Magnolia?
Even a short video is enjoyable. I have never seen a magnolia tree that large.

Love a clothes line to, just in England it rains to much 🤣
I crossed my fingers along with you on the closing! Best of luck!
Thank you!! Thanks for staying with us.

I could picture kids playing in there. I know I would have back in the day!
Beautiful massive tree! Looking forward to the restoration of your lovely home. Fingers crossed for all to go well with closing!
Thanks so much! 😊
😍 that is an amazing tree and the flowers is something that I've never seen before in my life. God bless you and that everything goes well with your closing
Thank you very much. We (and our team) are having to zig and zag to keep it moving.
What a beautiful tree! I am jealous we can't grow them like that in the north. It seems like they will be in full bloom and then we get a frost and all the pretty blossoms turn brown! Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for watching! Have you considered Dogwood? They bloom nice and can tolerate freezing.

Magnolias smell heavenly...

It's a long and torturous path we've been walking in order to get this closed. We're saving up the story until we find out the ending. :-)
Just planted a magnolia......the same as yours......Magnolia Grandiflora.......sadly I won’t get to see it mature to that size !
You'll have to wait a long time for that!
Love Magnolia tress. My son has one sure hope it dont get that big it will take over his house lol.
That tree is larger than the back yard of our rented house!
@@1834RestorationHouse Unreal if i was a kid again i would be sleeping and playing under it so neat
Yes i would be also really neat tree
You are welcome!!

The only thing I could think of is aggressive pruning.
@@1834RestorationHouse My HOA is starting to say something similar. I would hate to ruin the tree. Thanks

That is one beautiful tree! You’re lucky to have such a massive one that’s pretty as well.
As they say around here, "Watch 'yer step!". I didn't see any snake while I was in there but now that you mention it, I should have been more careful!
@@1834RestorationHouse
I’m just a huge ‘fraidy cat where snakes are concerned! I’m sure you were probably safe. Just my own paranoia! 🤣
Fingers crossed!
So beautiful! Looks like you have some lovely crepe myrtle trees as well, and a very large sweet gum. Maybe you could do a tree tour of all the trees on your new property. It looks like Virginia. Whereabouts are y’all in the south?
We are near Greenville South Carolina where Crape Myrtle trees outnumber the human population (just kidding on that one!).
Having lived in Brunei that's a small tree. 200 to 250 feet is normal but that comes with well over 100 inches of rainfall ea year
As a kid, inside the branches would be the perfect fort!
Lol!

@@1834RestorationHouse same here. The wild ones are all in bloom now. They are pretty amongst the first and alder trees.

Wow, magnificent!
WOW ! I would like to be there and see when it blom ❤
It didn't do much this year, but hopefully it will make a comeback in 2025!
Thank you @@1834RestorationHouse
I would have a hammock inside that tree, it is seriously an amazing space. I will hopefully have many of these.
Lol! Sounds like a great hideout!
I don't believe I've had the pleasure of inhaling a magnolia tree's fragrance. Looks like arboreal maintenance on your property is gonna keep you busy! Fingers crossed on a closing very soon!
It has a bit of a lemon smell blended with something else.
Very lovely the great trees of the south
Yes!

@@1834RestorationHouse Great words of wisdom! Thank you! Best of luck on the closing!
Here’s hoping your closing goes through. You have had more than your share of struggles with it.
What species of Magnolia is your gorgeous tree? My wife wished to buy a couple of that particular species of Magnolia.
We're not sure you can buy these anymore. It's over 100 years old and we've been told that it's an heirloom tree what isn't grown anymore. We've talked about trying to propagate more of these from seed. If you follow our channel, you may see something on this in late fall.
Be careful moving those limbs around in the summer, Hornets like to make their nest on the limbs. I should now I have huge one in my yard.
Good advice, thanks!

It would take a century or more to get that big! If you'd like a heritage seedling from this one, email us around October.
Wat variety of Magnolia is this?
Magnolius Giganticus! Not sure really......
Anyone else feel like they're watching something from the 70s? 🤣
❤️❤️❤️
❤️❤️❤️🌺🌺🌺
How old is this tree?
We think it's at least 100 years old.
Man!!!!!!!
Enjoy raking those leaves and all the other crap that drops from that tree. Hate these trees
It's a lot of cleanup, but the aroma is so intoxicating! :-)
How old is this tree?
Somewhere north of 100 years old.
