Some much truth in regards to har's information about spraying trees lol very overwhelming 😅
What I learned is that it really pays to watch your neighbors garden, too, for cross-diseases... spores in the air... oh my. Sulphur prior to blooms, & use for powdery mildew. Copper for dead blooms and black spot, protects unaffected trees. ❤ Good info... thank you.
Regular spraying of lime sulphur in the wet season has been my go to for years
I am spraying with trichoderma this year. It is a beneficial fungus that helps prevent other fungi from spreading.
I planted a bunch of different types and even let some seed grown reach maturity. I don't spray anything anywhere on my property. If a plant or tree is sickly then I plant something different or try to fix it with nutrients. Survival of the fittest.
Great idea for a video, TY! I was wondering about the spraying since the last video.
Thank you for this video. Upon looking up this topic on UofF I just realized I am having a huge issue with this family of funguses it all over my yard. Blueberries can even be hit by it too. 😢 You have such yummy mango trees too.
Loving your new lens!!
Your neighbor description of the weather sounds like our typical winter weather in California, only thing is it lasts at least 3 months here 😂
I can't
get all this gardening stuff as a person who lives in a town) I hope I will get to this point one day! I'd like to have a more calm life to provide those activities!
Thank you 🌻🌱
This year im planting a starch mango tree.😊
I do sulphur until flowers open. Then copper once in 2-3 weeks until mango is pea size
Yes, copper fungicide and sulfur can both be used to treat mango trees, but they should generally not be mixed together in the same spray tank. Here’s why:
Potential Issues with Mixing Copper and Sulfur
Phytotoxicity (Leaf Burn)
Mixing copper and sulfur can cause toxicity, especially in hot and humid conditions (above 30°C/86°F).
This is particularly risky for young leaves and flowers.
I think JADAM sulfur would take care of it all.
Love the channel ❤
I wonder how you grow so many things in Florida when it looks like it's all sand. Do you have to constantly fertilize?
Is my recollection correct, that in a video with Alex, he said copper sprayed on open bloom was toxic to the flowers?
Thanks
Hello Paul, another great video long time subscriber here, question?. While spraying sulphur and copper do you spray it on all the other fruit trees as well . Like Sapodillas, White Sapote,Citrus trees as wel! Or only on Mango trees thank you for your educational videos
HI I don't know what other people do but I only spray my mango trees currently
Hi Paul,
Won’t spraying your trees with copper while in open bloom inoculate the blooms?
It can so one must be careful when to spray and not spray
I'm in SWF and I sprayed exclusively with sulfur this year so far and powdery mildew isn't on my trees this year. Last year I sprayed with copper and my trees were crushed with powdery mildew. So here is the question: Is is copper ineffective or less effective to treat/prevent powdery mildew? Is sulfur superior for treating powdery mildew? Or, was powdery mildew so prevalent in my area last year that nothing would have been effective at treating it? And is powdery mildew so mild in my area this year that I didn't even need to spray anything?
Great question. Regarding copper, I heard that the concentration is too low to kill, at least it was true for spraying peach and nectarines for curl. I won't surprise it doesn't work for mangoes
copper is not for Powdery mildew. It's for black spot and Anthacnose
@ They should change the label on the copper fungicide if that is true. The label is misleading!
Do you believe that all the spraying could have negative effects on the body when consuming the fruit?
no because you are not spraying the fruit and also everything being spayed is not toxic
If you breathe or swallow too much of it while spraying it will have negative effects on your body. Wear protection!
How far or how many minutes are you away from the coast and I've learnt from you that the coast is good to grow mango trees?
I'm 5 miles
What variety was potted next to your sprayer at the beginning? The one with flowers?
sugar loaf I think
Name of spray please
I personally only spray my smaller trees.
This will bring health to your body
and nourishment to your bones.
9 Honor the Lord with your wealth,
with the firstfruits of all your crops;
10 then your barns will be filled to overflowing,
and your vats will brim over with new wine.
Would you drink a glass of whatever you spray on your trees?
👌🌻
I'm not drinking what I spray and I'm not eating it either
If you're licking the trees dry after spraying them, you're doing it wrong.
You can't eat a cup of salt, but you do need salt. I only spray my unopened flowers with neem which I use for mouthwash but you can't drink neem oil either.
@@onortosu 🤣
I have read on one of the tropical fruit pages to spray sulphur, every 10-14 days, until the pannicules emerge. Then when the fruit is pea size switch to copper. Does that sound correct for 9a? I know you're South of me, I don't have any blooms yet.
I think 14 days might be too long to wait. Probably 7-12 days in between. Should just try and time it so you only spray a couple of times.
Spraying sulfur today...will be 2nd time
I abstain from using chemicals in my gardening practices, even if it means sacrificing some blooms. The safety of my family and the quality of the fruits we consume from our trees take precedence. I prioritize my values and firmly believe in protecting our environment and soil health.
Consuming content on the internet is far more hazardous to your families health than a bit of organic copper which is a natural element…just my 2 cents after having to listen to yours
I understand your perspective. I feel the same way, however I feel if the sprays are organic and just natural minerals it's not the same as toxic chemicals.
@@FruitfulTrees Try out well-composted cow manure for your next season. Trust me, you don't have to use sprays.
I’m not spraying anything that’s synthetic. Like natural.
All this spraying and manipulation really makes me wonder how people back in the day gardened and dealt with agriculture....Our Father said that if we are right with him then we will not be susceptible to the diseases on the pagans and same goes with our fruit trees and livestock
Can't hear shit
How big is your property? How many trees do you have
I don't know how many trees I have but A lot. I have about 3/4 of an acres
