    I didn't talk about it in the video. But I took the velcro straps that came on the pipe clamps from Fieldpiece and strapped it down really tight up on the handle of the pipe clamp. It provides a little extra stress relief for the cord and I kind of hated to cut it off of there. But it was definitely kind of a pain in the butt trying to use the velcro to hold the cord in place. THOSE "CABLE CLIC'S"ARE THE WAY TO GO!!!! 😎👍

    Thanks - I'm going to give those a shot. I've had my SMAN 480's for about a year now. I've been doing pretty well keeping them tied with the velcro, but I started getting sloppy over time so I need to try something quicker than the velcro. I was considering getting the wireless clamp meters, but this tip might save me the money!

      i never owned a sman.. but i have used company issued sman and they have been great.. the wires do not bother me much. but if youre buying new set of gauges and have the money to spend.. treat yourself with wireless ones. if your wife says no you cant have one. tell her you’ll come home early everyday. you bet she’ll change her mind. So what i got now is testos manifold gauges and fieldpiece wireless charging probes. both work great.

    Although digital gauges been out for while it did take a while for me to update from analog to digital, but once I did I will never go back to analog. The only problem is now is that I do have smart probes but I always go to the digital manifold first on all jobs. I know when the time comes when I do start using smart probes exclusively there will be some other new technology of tool out for checking refrigerant. I guess I am always going to be behind the times

    I have the SM380V and I need to know how do you calibrate the pressure gauge? Every time I use it, I overcharge system because gauge is not reading the correct pressure. Please help.

    • @sknight0391
      @sknight0391  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      You don't need to calibrate them. If you leave pressure in your hoses all the time and only use them for the same refrigerant (R-410A). They will always read correct pressures. But if you bleed the pressure off of them after every time you disconnect from a system. The next time you turn them on you need to make sure that your hoses are cracked open and both valves are cracked open to atmospheric pressure. Then they will zero properly when you turn them on. But if there is any residual refrigerant left in the hoses (approx. 10 psi or less) when you turn them on, they will zero to that pressure and then your readings will be off by that same pressure.
      Hopefully that helps. 😎👍
