Really helpful, episode! I went vegetarian about a year ago and had so much bloating for like a week because I was suddenly eating a ton of beans. But thankfully it went away after a week or two and my body got used to it. It’s good to know that that was normal because I didn’t really know what was going on at the time lol! Thank you, Hannah!
I have bloating and gas really bad after a year being fully plant based. I was a little bit bloated before I was plant-based but definitely did not eat enough fiber. I used to be really constipated but now since I went plant-based, at least I go to the bathroom more regularly. I’m gonna try cooking my vegetables more. Thank you for all the amazing tips. I like how James talked about our symptoms being a good thing because it’s reminding us to take care of our bodies.
I am in my late 20s and I my bloating issue exploded a few months ago. My doctor gave me some pills for acid reflux, which I ended up taking only 1 of because I read that they were damaging to the microbiome, which was precisely what I wanted to protect not harm! He also simplified all of my symtoms under the informal diagnosys of IBS "you probably have IBS and unfortunately there is no cure but you can keep it at bay with the right diet". So superficial! I experienced constipation, bleeding when pooping, being bloated.. And all of this on a really healthy diet, which my doctor btw never asked me about. After some months of strugge I cut gluten off my diet and most of my symtoms have disappeared. My biggest upset in all of this was the lack of care in how my doctor handled this and how superficial he was in labeling my symtoms with IBS instead of trying to get to the root of the cause of such issues in an otherwise healthy 28 year old.
I suffer from slow motility/gastroparesis, due to an eating disorder. What I find helpful are digestive enzymes. Garden of Life makes a good one that’s 100% plant based, and it’s helped a lot.
I have multiple illnesses including autoimmune diseases. Another woman I follow highly recommended the pre/probiotics by Seed. Just got it shipped to me and I’m hope it helps me.

Or go carnivore and cut out all the indigestible fiber that's causing your bloating.
Really interesting 😊
