Conor Burridge I think both Labrie's albums with Wildoer is some of their best work. I kinda like those albums way more than new DT. Pete can groove, most metal drummers cant ;)
Im watching this video and im laughting alone, just wandering how passionate this guy is for the music that he creates. He is really a complete drummer. Not satisfied with a good ''work'', he makes a complex drumming journey about how being a pionner on drum fills and aproachs on music, whatever the ''heaviness'' of the song. I've seen his ''heavier'' performances(unfortunatly on youtube, not live) and i watch not only this one, but ones from istatic impulse... man, he is really a estraordinary drummer and person. Nice to see that he even responds to people on youtube ! Hahaha. Not only a good person and drummer, he is also a math teacher, nice isn't ? About the drums... so many nice ideas on this song, but one that got me hooked was at 3:00.. using the rim an them the floor tom, so contrasting, smooth and magical for a brigde's end and revigorating for a chorus intro. Congrats Peter, you are awesome ! (sorry for english mistakes, im brazilian)
Hugo Rezende Wow, thank you so much for your kind words!! Makes me very happy to read! It’s amazing to read that I can inspire in some way. Perfect English, no worries. Best of luck with your drumming!!! :)
Amazing performance and what a great person Peter is! I had the amazing chance to spend some time with him in Sevilla last year, at the Tam Tam Drum Fest 2013. A really cool, down to earth guy, as well as a very talented musician.
I know the video is focused on the Cymbals... but the sound of that secondary snare was pretty interesting and caught my attention... By the way, this guy´s drumming is perfect; i cannot imagine how much practising is necessary to reach this level :)
great drumming only one question I have for Peter....why the single bass drum with mics? Why not ad a second one in there? I am always confused when I see metal drummers using one bass drum unless they're using triggers and even still I have to ask myself why not use two? Especially if it's being miked.
A lot of professional drummers you see with two bass drums will have the second for looks and still use a double pedal. Audio engineers prefer it because when you're mixing two separate bass drums you have twice the low frequencies to fight, where as if you're only striking one drum with two beaters you're just interrupting the first sound wave by starting the second.
Chris Bellville Two main reasons for me. Two bass drums won't fit in my car and I have to many stands where the second bass drum would be. Also I'm not a huge fan of the looks of two bass drums, but that's just a matter of taste. Also the tuning thing where it's hard to tune them to sound great together.
this is the eighth time I try to contact you. you will never come to Murmansk, but I'm a big fan and I am not able to be present with you at the concert. send a poster with the autograph. thanks
He is definitely not a joke.. he's one of the many of the few that are badass
James LaBrie's Impermanent Resonance has made me a huge fan of Peter's work. Absolutely awesome!
Thanks! Makes me glad to read!!!

Take a look at 29 sec, amazingly Peter and the song did not go wrong even when he dropped the drumstick, professionalism at all!!! way to go Pete
Absolute Amazing Performance!!! Meinl always bringing the best sound for metal!!! Congrats!!
Perfectly tuned toms! Love it!! Well done.

He used this snare several times in the last Darkane album called "The Sinister Supremacy". You should give this a try.
Thanks!
Awesome Drummer!!!!!

Hauling around 2 bass drums is a pain lol

Yes, that too. It just makes the sound guys, and your life a bit easier when playing shows
