All those cymbals are his regular set-up, I love his style of playing! Nothing is off limits and he uses his entire kit.

I’m so glad you’ve found Peter Wildoer. His playing with Darkane is just incredible and inspiring. Great reaction and choice! I always get reminded of Derek Roddy when I see Peter play for some reason. He’s worth looking into.

Peter's drumming with his band Darkane is truly impressive. I highly recommend checking out their song "the creation insane". Peter is an absolute beast on that track. His creativity is mind boggling
Dude is one of those creatures you watch and wonder "is that difficult?" because they're making it look so effortless you're unsure if you should be freaking out about it.

Oh yes 🤘👌 I was there that day, pretty much front row. What a great day, with some amazing drummers for sure. And Peter really killed it. I really love his work in Darkane as well. Technical but always tasty 👌🖤

I was lucky enough to meet Peter years ago while he was touring his band Darkane. Super nice guy and unbelievable drummer.
Wow can't believe Darkane's drummer is mentioned here. He is so underrated, very technical!

I think Peter has a very similar style to Mike Mangini. Precise , attacks an entire song , but leaves plenty of headroom to make what he's doing look easy. This is the 1st time ( besides his DT audition ) that I watch Peter play.
He's a great drummer.
Complete accuracy and control. I like his cymbals are just flying and the sounds amazing.

Had the pleasure of meeting Peter and his band (darkane) and having a beer and shooting the shit after one of their shows. He is genuinely a super enthusiastic guy, awesome drummer and just one of the nicest people you are ever going to meet.

Hell yes!!! Peter Wildoer is an absolute underrated beast!!! Saw him live with his band Darkane and he killed it. That show was insane for drumming...Peter Wildoer, Dirk Verbeuren, Gene Hoglan, and Raymond Herrera!
I really loved the ride being used in fills. His choice of sounds and imagination (the rim shred as you called it) is really inspiring and entertaining.
He's SO overlooked in the grand scheme of drummers and it's bothered me since I discovered Darkane in 2003.
Hope they finally release a new album!
He was the drummer for James Labries last solo album (or one of the last ones). Dreamt Theaters singer.

Sean was one hell of an inspiration source for me back when i started to play drums 30years ago.. his work in the band Death got me hooked and also his masterfull work in the Band Cynic, sadly he passed away a few years ago
I love the techncial metal drummers who's technique and musicality mean they don't have to beat the shit out of the kit like a caveman when the beat straightens up to a straight rock pattern.

Peter and his band "Darkane" are one of the most underrated Death/Thrash Metal bands out there. Complex, angry, psychotic and an aggression that is musical controlled chaos. He makes it all seem so effortless with finesse, its a brain that I'll never have (like Marco Minnemann). Their 1st 2 albums were ahead of their time, and as others have said, his work with James LaBrie (of Dream Theater) on his solo albums show another side of the man. He was also my personal pick for a replacement of Mike Portnoy.
I think he would have helped re-invent the band (Been a fan of DT since their debut "When Dream and Day Unite").

Peter should have been Dream Theater's drummer after MP left... And it's obvious here and Darkane's music.
Wildoer is amazing. Was in Arch Enemy for a little while but not on record, Darkane, LaBrie. Good stuff. Should check out Daniel Erlandsson from Arch Enemy btw. Killer clean and fast drumming with some intricate fills.
He plays on the Stigmata album :) "Peter Wildoer − drums (all tracks except "Beast of Man" and "Diva Satanica")" - from wikipedia (and also the linernotes on the CD) his double-rides are all over that record, its great!

Criminally underrated is gross understatement! (Say that 3 times really fast...) I believe he did some tracks for James LaBrie solo projects, and thus why he got a change at the DT gig. Glad he didn't. DT is lost... Anyway, this is guy is excellent.
Nah, DT is as brilliant as ever, evolving, but maybe just not to your taste, is all.

Clean playing ..but the sound mix/dynamics were VERY tough to get through... I admire his timing and execution .. but the sounds .. textures.. dynamics.. were shit.. #Sorry.
I dont know why dream theater wasted his time mangini was already the new drummer, that entire audition nonsense was just that...pure rubbish and to think they invited lars too lmao wtf that bum cant even play Metallica (stuff he wrote) maybe Peter would have been a better choice for Metallica lol then id buy an album again
